Nobus3r1 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Tager can get close. It just takes slowly working your way in. It's just that if you're the kind of guy that just wants to go balls to the wall all out on someone then it's going to seem like a boring, grindingly slow match as Tager inches his way in. Basically, I guess what I'm wondering is what changed in the matchup, because from me playing it, it feels the same way it did in CT. As far as Haku zoning out Tager, he pretty much had the same toolset in CT, or at least moves that functioned the same way. In CS I use j.C to keep him out of the air and 4C on the ground, in CT I used 6A to keep him out of the air and 6C on the ground. You can keep him out until he gets you magnetized, and when he gets in he can end the round. It was 5.5 Tager's favor in CT and in CS it was considered 5.5 Haku's favor. So for it to go from 5.5/4.5 to 6.5/3.5 seems to be a bit dramatic. I never felt that Tager was helpless or anything; you poke him to keep him out doing a little damage, but if he gets in he makes it all up and more. I'm just curious what you guys are thinking. Looking at the overall matchup for Tager though, it doesn't make sense to me that Haku/Tager would be 3.5 for Tager but Mu/Tager would be 5-5... I'm pretty sure that Mu can shut down Tager a lot more effectively, so she would have to be much higher there, right? Pretty sure that 4C is that big of a deal plus Tager now deals ass for damage which sort of compounds the problems of getting zoned out by the second most durable character in the game.
Achtzehn Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 My list was done by: Zidane: Hazama LordKnight: Litchi/Ragna ZONGone: Carl/Arakune Dacidbro: Bang Myself: Lambda/Ragna/Makoto Alzarath: Hakumen/Rachel XAQshinor: Mu/Tsubaki Mr.Biscuits: Arakune TaoFTW: Taokaka I was going to ask stunedge for Jin input, but he plays in Japan, and this is a US list. I guess I could ask Render? Veteru wouldn't do Ragna, so that was filled in by whoever knew the opposite match-up. I'm not going to get some netplayer I don't know to do Noel... maybe Danny Scheme, but I'm not sure who he gets to play against up North. Nas never answers his damn texts. Tager... eh? I dunno who would actually do it. MikeZ? Henaki? When it comes down to it, this is just a spreadsheet of opinions... and we all know opinions are 100% correct right? Right? It's been revised slightly, but I'm not going to post a new sheet everyday. People need to chill out. You wouldn't ask me for tager? Man I'm hurt, that's like saying nah son I've seen you play tager against good players and do at least decently but your input is ass.
mAc Chaos Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Pretty sure that 4C is that big of a deal plus Tager now deals ass for damage which sort of compounds the problems of getting zoned out by the second most durable character in the game. I don't think it's that big a deal. I don't even use 4C as much as I used to against good Tagers... you should be watching out for j.C.
GenoWhirl Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Dropping in to check if Rachel/Tager is now 5:5 Y/N?
huey253 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 i thought it was, but i think alzrath is in charge of rachel. so he probably has a good reason why it isnt???
Zeromegaman Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 <3 But still, you're no biscuits. I'll have to Sex you up online Zong. ;D
skd Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 who is this nigga at home trying to get at zong?!?!?
Halcyone3 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Noel/Tager was changed to favor Tager. that was pretty much my main beef with the chart, the rest of noel seems pretty much spot on.
A.X.I.S. Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 tager only loses to rachel because tager doesn't care. seriously.
Heroic_Legacy Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 This is pretty much what the matchup seems to be imo. George the thirteenth. Don't come near me. Don't come near me. Shocking! farranpoison Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Tager can block shit like no other. Someone enlighten me on the Makoto vs Tager matchup. I think it should be even, but what do I know? Haven't played much Tagers offline so I can't really say.
AdamNW Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 With ara, if you're outzoned (lambda/mu/hakumenlololol/ara mirror), just be gay as fuck. Being gay > your opponent. How the fuck can you be so amazing all the time?
Spirit Juice Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Little do you know, Zong isn't that amazing in real life. He's like luke-warm milk.
Sophisticat Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I'd agree that Haku v. Tager is 6-4, but Stick said no .5 changes, so I didn't comment. :x 4c isn't that good here outside of max range. Any closer, and Tager can get in. From the air, Haku will want to j.C, but too close and that's not good either. 2c loses to a well spaced Tager j.D, and Haku's own j.D can be baited (which is, imo, super effective in this match due to Tager's longer average startups). The hard work is on Tager's end, but Haku is not an impregnable fortress. In fact, I believe that getting magnetized makes this match even. But it's 6-4 since Tager has to work to get some magnet action going. But if I might be allowed to comment on another .5 change, I'd say Haku v. Rachel is 6.5 Haku favor, but not 7. While Rachel does suck, Haku loses to zoning. Void is more problematic here for Rachel than other zoners, but she can still zone, so to speak. Plus, mobility being on her side, she can outrun the clock with a life lead. On the other hand, if the Haku rushes down, not much she can do about it. It can be a frustrating match for both parties. 6.5 at worst, imo. Besides that, I must say I'm pleased with the turn this thread has taken. A bomb was dropped, but we're back to discussing matchups. Let's keep it that way, eh, gents?
