A little expansion and clarification [regarding the JPN PSN ver]:

- Yes there is pre-loading, should become available 12/1

- Getting Elphelt as a free pre-order bonus for the digital version ONLY applies during 11/20~30

- useless to pretty much anyone here but you also get entered into a raffle lolol

Just what I wanted to hear. Thank you! :D

Hello I don't know if this is the right place to ask about this but here I go.

I'm from Europe and I want to buy the US ver. of Xrd for ps4 and if I do so will I have to buy psn+ on US account in order to play online or does my european subcribtion is enough? And one more question if I buy the us ver. and my friend buys JP ver. are we going to able to play with each other?

No, you will not have to purchase a NA PS+ subscription, but keep in mind that you will need to purchase any DLC through a NA account. And you will be just fine playing people with either the NA or JPN versions.

Are they going to release a Japanese Limited Edition for Ps3? I can't seem to find one anywhere...

Nope, only PS4 for JP LE.

I found this on Potemkin's GG wikia page.

"

  • If one listens closely to Potemkin's Guilty Gear XX stage theme and looks closely at his fighting stance, he is actually moving to the beat of his own theme."

Is there a vid of this?

It's hype for sure, but I just wonder why Potemkin doesn't go all the way if it's a backbreaker. In Accent Core it just looks silly, but in Xrd it's less noticeable. Specially that HEABENLY POCHEMUKIN BUSTAAA

Potemkin's fighting style is intentionally non-violent. (He could be hitting a lot harder than he does.) The shock of the impact is enough to do what he wants to do.

I've never seen those sidebars before.  Are they exclusive to the arcade version or something?

These sidebars are unique to the arcade version.

Button macros delay inputs by 1f from memory. So the timing is very slightly  different, but pad players do fine.  You should not be worried about input lag from a wireless pad that's right next to a PS3. If you are, consider switching to a wired device in the first place.

Button macros do not have any inherent delay. Old rumor.

It's just his idle animation kinda-sorta lining up with the beat of his music. A useless bit of non-trivia. This is not a thing coded to happen.

Ok So I'm wondering, was the fact that they lost their GG license to Sega after Sammy merged with Sega the reason why they never made a new GG's and kept updating GGXX?

That's the reason they made BB. Companies keep 'updating games' because it takes less time than making a new one #MoMoney. (Completely upgrading all animations, stages, etc etc)

Back then GGs sprites/animations were the best, no doubt. So ASW didn't really need major changes.

Why do I suck so hard at consistently doing down-down moves (Chipp's teleports, Justice's missiles) on a square gate in +R?
Would an octagonal gate even be any better?
How can I get it so I stop jabbing full screen when trying to do shit? Some rounds it's fine and everything comes out perfect while other rounds I can't get it to work once.

Just like basketball players practicing jump shots, fighting game players have to practice execution to be practically a muscle memory. The gate of the stick really don't matter you just have to go in practice mode and practice chipps teleport until you can do it without thinking about it.

Repetition = Success

having trouble hitting the corners,or inputting it all fast enough?

I can do it in training mode fine. It's actual fights where it starts to slip.

 I'm legitimately not sure.

If I had to guess I'd say I'm probably hitting the corners instead of going straight-down, but as I replied above this problem only manifests in actual play in the heat of the moment and thus I'm never able to actually analyze what is wrong.

And the times I do it right versus wrong don't feel any different whatsoever, even when I screw up 2 seconds after having had done it properly earlier.

do you have access to training mode? just turn on the input display

I don't screw it up in training mode.

I'm aware the general short answer is "practice" but was just wondering if anybody else had the same problem.

If you're dropping that in a match, play Arcade Mode or VS CPU with the difficulty cranked up to where the CPU doesn't just stand there with its thumb up its ass.  You'll be forced to learn to teleport without ****ing up the input from all sorts of situations.

Besides that, you can try doing the input in training mode some more, but practice doing the input from various situations.  An I-No example is that it's easier to do 66 to start a dash and roll back to 32 to land and start a 2S, then keep going with 146K to do HCL, but if you wanted to do 2S > HCL at the start of a round you have to be faster and cleaner.  Compare 2S-632146K to 632S146K.  If you're trying to teleport out of a run, you might be hitting 31 instead of 22, or you might be timing the button press that goes with the 22 input a little early, resulting in throwing out normals when you don't want them.

Seriously, people bitch about practicing with a CPU because "bad habits", but you get better execution practice this way.  Sometimes you need to practice in a vacuum because there are things you need to have down that don't come up often in a real game, but unless you're playing a lot with your buddies and putting in the requisite hours that way, you'll need some Arcade Mode or VS CPU time.

Make sure you're not pressing 2, 2, X. It needs to be 2, 2+X. It sounds stupid but it's important.

Well I have problems doing 22 moves also, but that's because I don't practice it.

If you wanna talk about method, there's really only two. If you have a decent stick, you hit down and let your stick travel back to neutral and hit down again. If you have a bad stick then you may have to guide your stick back to neutral. So I guess if you have a stick worth using, then there's really only one method.

Some people let there sticks go all the way back to the center of the deadzone. I stop the lever at the end of the dead zone. Where I screw up is I sometimes miss judge where the edge of my deadzone is and I never actually let go of down.

How probable would you say a vita port of Xrd is?

I thought I would say this towards your question.

I'm sure probably not BUT you can play a stream version of it from the ps4 to the ps vita. Depending on internet connection or how close you're to the ps4. There is probably little to no lag. But hey its something.
