LunaKage Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 My conclusions after testing are..... 1. Noel's 5d is pretty much Mu's SoD range. They're pretty much the same. If you use SoD in a blockstring, it's a HUGE guessing game. If you use SoD instantly after 5c or whatever normal, Noel can just IB 5d. If you wait, noel can just IB dash 5a or IB 5b and get a free CH. Unless somehow you can SoD Noel on reaction to her 5d. In fact, Noel's 5d can hit Mu's SoD if you use it alone because Mu extends her hitbox in the animation. 2. Lastly, how noel beats mu or any zoner is walk/push them to the corner and you rape them. 3. You still need to know the match up in order to beat Noel. Oh and uh....noel's 2d and 3c aren't really good pokes..... Noel doesn't have any good pokes really, also yeah we can do work in the corner, but our pressure is still bad, you can poke out of it pretty easy, our best move on block is 2C and that's only +1, plus the SoD thing is a huge guessing game on our end too, if we lose we have to start all over again from scratch at neutral, and Noel doesn't like neutral, against anyone really. Yes you do need to know the matchup, I never disputed that, its just that the matchup is really really bad for Noel.
Aginor Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Of course noel doesn't really have any good pokes but you have to utilize what you have. 5b and 5c are her best pokes. If opponents start poking then start using frame traps. And thing with noel is she's a high risk/high reward character. You won't get anywhere without taking risks. And nobody likes being in neutral against zoners. Thing I've learned is you have to be patient against zoners. Well...thing about noel is that you just have to find one hole/mistake your opponent made and just capitalize on it since noel does a lot of damage. I'll just say it feels pretty even IMO or slightly in mu's favor but eh....I don't think it's THAT bad...

Agi bro, I love you like a brother that I've never talked to, but I do believe it is that bad. I didn't used to think it was that bad either honestly, then I fought Mus that knew what they were doing, and my opinion quickly went south :C But this is a moot point anyway, I should be spending my time looking forward to CS2, I've lost all Drive to play CS1 at this point. Also, I still want to play you, where are you from? If we have a good connection I'm always looking for more Mu experience, I especially need some guys to rely on for matchup EXP when CS2 rolls around.
Aginor Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 lol it's ok. I lost it too! I'm waiting for cs2 as well. Last time I played cs1, I tried playing mu like I'm playing cs2. lols. I'm from norcal but uh...in my past experiences, I've had pretty bad connections from central and ec. It was better in ct but in cs1 it was pretty bad to the point it was almost unplayable. We can try if you want.

We can try if you want. we could give it a shot, I've had a wide range of connections from Cali, all 1bars but some were really good, others were just terrible, either way not exactly the stuff of high level play, but who knows, I'm down to mash buttons as long as its not half a second of delay.
C0R Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Shtkn, Polka and I finished the Mu frame data tables! http://dustloop.com/guides/bbcs2/frameData/mu.html Have fun
FlyingVe Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Good work, it looks great! Also, I just noticed. 3C now has a p1 of 90, wow, they really took it out on that move. It's not like we could combo off it anyways.
C0R Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 5b is the best starter in neutral these days looks like, especially now that it's 8f.
FlyingVe Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 5B is still 9. But yeah, I like that. Your much more likely to get a hit to combo from with 5B than other moves. For punishes we will probably still do 6C when possible.
C0R Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Ah, I was thinking of 2b's startup. According to the frame data SoD4 doesn't wallbounce midscreen, could probably still dash-push them near enough to the corner and get it off though. For Guard Crush pickup.
FlyingVe Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I meant it situationally. Now that it corner bounds, we can get something off any level, provided we're somewhat close to a corner. We're talking about the same thing I think.
C0R Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Most likely, damn the internet. Also, trying to do SoD on the psp1k pad is suicide.
FlyingVe Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Lol. I thought long and hard about getting CS2 on PSP, but playing on a portables controls sounds incredibly frustrating. Besides, I've got Mahvel to keep me busy.
Innolis Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Its not that bad if you're used to playing on pads. The psp slim (2000) pad is waay better though.
FlyingVe Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Well, I've got a 3k... Whatever though, I can't imaging a CS2 patch will be too long afterwards.
zreb Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 The 2k (and probably 3k as well) dpads are like... You can actually feel them moving if you're going to the corner and stuff. 1000's dpad just feels fucking flat and bad. But yeah, hopefully we hear something about it soonish since the portable versions are out over there now..
C0R Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 PNW crew has multiple arcade setups going, still trying to figure out new combos though, everything seems to work. It's really just PickThatShitUp into freestyle big damage all over the place.
C0R Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Well, we use the psp's and computers and sticks and pretend they're arcade cabinets. On a side note, has anyone been able to link 6c 5d 214d in a combo? I thought that was one of the things that worked in cs2. P.S. 3c> 236a midscreen is reminiscent of Spike Chaser oki, very strong.
Zeromus_X Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 It was supposed to work in the loketests, but they took it out (you can see some Mu's try to do this in early CS2 vids). For combos, don't forget the H.H. Mu combo video Cor. I wrote down notations for the video here, and now I'm working on writing down all the damage and heat gain.
C0R Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I knew there was a way to get 2c > j.2c to link non fatal! That video is a great refresher now that I can actually play the game.
FlyingVe Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Remember that tech OS, that whole video is basically a list of stuff you can get off it.
LunaKage Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 GUYS GUYS RATE MY COMBO!!! It may even already be listed but I was just freestyling some Mu shit in CS2 and came up with this. Tested from round start position into corner on Noel: 6C(Fatal) > 214D(Wiff) > 66A > 6B > 66A > 2C > j.C > j.2C > Land > 66 > 2B > 5C > 63214C(Wall Bound) > 66A > j.B > j.C > j.2C > Land > 2B > 6A > 623C (5.1k) 6C(Fatal) > 214D(Wiff) > 66A > 6B > 66A > 2C > j.C > j.2C > Land > 66 > 2B > 5C > 63214C(Wall Bound) > 66A > j.B > j.C > j.2C > Land > 2B > 632146C (6.2k) Also, Mu is just downright easier to combo with than in CS1, just to give you guys an idea, I could barely break 3k with her in CS1, but due to increases in alot of her levels links are just easier to connect than normal, granted, for this particular combo, the Fatal helps that, but the same is true off of even her 5B starters. The 2B > Super link in particular is much much easier. Again, sorry if this may be common knowledge, but I get excited when I do big combos that I haven't seen myself before @_@
TD Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 that is indeed common knowledge :3 nice combo but l cant help feeling l saw that before also. :P
FlyingVe Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Part of me is going to miss Mu's stuff being on the hard side.
