LunaKage Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Aginor, whenever I think of you I think of Yukiko. Just thought I'd let everyone know.
LunaKage Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 what? uhh....... okk....... The Agi Fire spells, it was her only elemental attacks, she was good for healing too, but those fire spells were no joke with her high magic attack stat.
Shockna Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 So uhh... Coming back to BB after a 9 month hiatus. Is everything as improved as it seems to be for Mu? >_>
SolarMisae Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Most definitely better. Whats a CS1, keep that away from me!
YukiBlue Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 It's great in CS2 and we're going to be hella' strong in CSE.
C0R Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Everyone go learn and practice this combo, it containts all the new elements for the new optimal bnb's. GC (run to corner, include 5c on crouching) > 6c > SoD~ > 6b > 5c > 2c > j.c > j.2c > j.d > 2b > 5c > 2c > j.2c > j.d > 2b > 6a > 2c > j.2c > 6a > (5c > 632146d > j.2c) > 632146c
Kayahtic Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Cor is such a teacher giving us Mu Users HW. :P A good one at that!
pochp Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Ok I did something kind of special tonight. After hearing about eLive I decided to try it out, and I commentated and analysed a match by Sakuma. This is mostly for more or less beginner Mu players trying to figure out how to play the character, but there might be something you can learn watching this. http://www.elive.pro/en/watch/rlNkRq5izKR5 So anyways, tell me if you liked this and think it's a good idea. If so, I might keep doing these. I think I may have exaggerated a bit on this one, the video is 44 minutes long, but I covered and explained a lot of stuff that I won't need to explain in the next videos. You can adjust the volume by placing your mouse over the volume icon, then over show all, and then you can change the value for my voice and the video I'm casting.
HexaNoid Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Naturally I didn't watch all of your video, but I think you're onto something good here. A couple of things I would recommend for if you do carry on making these is to speak a bit slower and clearer (since I missed a couple of things you were saying) and if possible get someone else in on your analysis who plays as the opposing character - having someone else explain why X used Y attack here when Mu did Z there might help others to understand why Z is such a good option in that scenario or what could have been a better option. Other than that, I thought it was really good. There was a lot of detail and I'm sure a lot of people could find stuff like this really useful. Good luck with your future videos (if you make them).
SolarMisae Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Regarding C0Rs homework...the GC combo. Again, that stupid j.2C after the 6A. Squirrel hitbox...tips? I am super jumping but can't figure the height/timing for the last j.2C.
YukiBlue Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I'm gonna watch the whole 44 Minutes before I lay down and say anything. Also, Guys. Remember when I gave suggestions on Music for the Combo video? It's incredibly hard to choose. So I've narrowed it down to only 2 songs. D'esparirsRay - Heavens Color The GazettE - Remember The Urge I'd rather have a song that I chose, So it's going to be 1 or the other, I'd just like advice on which. For both song's I'll be using edited versions done by the actual producers. It's just shortened versions of the song that cuts interludes and long "Filler" riffs. Although, I'm already basing the Cv around the first song, I'd still like opinions. Got inspiration from C0R's "Strength" video. That all fit perfectly with the ABS Track.
pochp Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Yeah having another person explaining what the other character is doing is a pretty good idea, I think you can do that really easily on eLive. In retrospect I probably didn't pick the best match though, and I think I said a few things that weren't too accurate, so if you guys find any mistakes, just tell me and I'll add them to the description. I also had fun doing this so yeah I'll do others for sure if people liked the this. eLive is really easy to use, so it might also be worth a shot to try it out for the critique thread, because sometimes just saying things with visuals support is easier than typing it out. @Solar : Makoto's hitbox is a pain, I say just do simple combos on her because the extra damage is not worth the high risk of a drop. I say this because I haven't found a trick to hit it consistently, but if anyone does, speak up I want to know as well @YukiBlue : at this point you should probably record the clips, and then attempt to arrange them maybe in a way that goes with the song, for example transitions between combos when riffs change. Try this with both songs and pick the one you feel fits best.
Cryingvoid Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 pochp, awesome idea with the video + explanation! I think it is very useful for those, who are just learning Mu, like myself, and for skilled players as well. I'd love to see and hear more such videos to learn from that. Also very interested about Mu's setups, cross-up's, oki variations and etc. Only thing is audio issues. I guess it is smth in the settings. It is best to set the speech to high frequencies, so it gets clearer. It was kinda booming now, so some parts were hard to get. I missed, do you recommend j.c usage or disapprove it? Or did you mean j.b? SolarMisae Try j.2d instead of just j.d. It works in Noel's case without super jumps.
pochp Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 j.C is good as an air to air or to make people respect your space, like IAD back j.C, but not as a jump in. Jump in with j.B if you really want to, but jumping in isn't always Mu's best option to approach, although this is matchup and situation specific. Maybe someone else can give their point of view on this, because I'm speaking mostly from personal experience and watching videos of Mu players getting consistently blown up for jumping in with j.C. Yeah about the audio, I just used my laptop's mic, next time I'll see about using something better. I have real equipment, but I haven't used it in a while. Thanks for the feedback.
HexaNoid Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Although, I'm already basing the Cv around the first song, I'd still like opinions. I haven't listened to either of the songs, but in my opinion I think you should stick with the first one. If your already basing the CV around the first song, you'll probably find that you have to start the whole thing from scratch if you do decide to change songs. I've swapped music for CVs that have been completed/half-completed before and I've always felt that the original track is better because there'll often be transitions or effects I've added that fit with the music. I'm pretty obsessive about small details like that though, so if you don't actually care about that and just want a nice song then by all means pick the one that people here like the most. :3 Looking forward to seeing it~ Yeah having another person explaining what the other character is doing is a pretty good idea, I think you can do that really easily on eLive When you say this, do you mean it's easy to do on eLive with seperate audio tracks? Because if so I'd be more than happy to help out with any future videos you do that feature Noel if you'd like.

Yeah, I say "think" because I didn't try it out, but it looks like there's a function to add a guest commentator. It has to be done live though, like the rest of the casting itself, but I'll try it out with a friend of mine and I'll get back to you on that.
FlyingVe Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Ok I did something kind of special tonight. After hearing about eLive I decided to try it out, and I commentated and analysed a match by Sakuma. This is mostly for more or less beginner Mu players trying to figure out how to play the character, but there might be something you can learn watching this. I like the idea of commentating on vids, but I think the execution needs work. All of the issues (length, execution, etc) can be solved by planning. You don't need to script everything you say, but you should approach it like any presentation you would give, plan out you main points and structure so that the end result flows nicely and doesn't go on for more 5~7 minutes. It could also help if you got someone else to do it with you. People see things differently and notice things the other will not, especially for the non-Mu character. Again this should be someone in person so you can plan the vid. Lastly, editing. I don't know much about E-live but when your doing a vid, edit the result. This doesn't have to be anything fancy, but you can do stuff like pause the video or just redo small parts that sound bad. (in the planning leave small pauses between points so you can cut and paste audio with ease). D'esparirsRay - Heavens Color This one is the best of those two, but to be honest I'm not a huge fan of either. But it's your video, and the content is infinitely more important than the music.
pochp Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I haven't found a way to edit the video after it's finished, so I guess that just means more planning. I'll see what I can do about keeping it short as well, I covered a lot of stuff in this test video that I won't have to explain again. The idea was kind of to help people understand what's going on in the matches and how they should modify their own way of playing the character according to what they learned. The problem is that when you're not that good yet you won't know what to look for and learn from. Basically, making watching match videos more instructive.
FlyingVe Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Could you use do the video and edit it in something simple like Window's movie maker or iMovie?
pochp Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I could try. I know that I can download the MP3, and since I'm using videos from youtube as well as pictures from the internet for the visual part, it'll be pretty easy to synch them back together if there are things that need fixing, as well as add anything afterwards. Maybe I'll even find a way to download the .flv file, which would make the whole thing even simpler.
Kayahtic Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Yeah I was gonna mention the game play. Good job again C0R. Good shit with Mu. =D
C0R Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I was wondering when Rin would upload that one.
SolarMisae Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Awesome match C0R Makin' Dacid look FRAY.
