And again, I can't emphasize this enough, but NEVER summon more than two steins raw unless you know they won't bumrush you. Be patient.

I need to write this on a bat and smack myself in the face with it every time I fail. It's so easy to get greedy with Mu and have the whole match go to shit as a result.

Hey guys, I'm a bit new to Mu, and I'm trying to up my game with her. I learned a few of her combos, but I'm having a little trouble on her Challenges.

Challenge 7: CH 2C > jc > airdash > JC > J2C > 66 > 2B > 5C > 6C > 2D > jc > JB > JC > jc > JC > J2C

My problem with this combo is that after the first J2C, I can't dash in time to hit with 2B into the rest of the combo.

Challenge 8: (In corner) 3C > [2B > 5C > 2C > jc > JC > J2C] x 2 > 2B > 632146C

I can do everything except combo from 2B into her Distortion Drive. Either that I input it too slow, or I rush the input and throw out a 6C, SoD, or absolutely nothing at all. It feels like I can't buffer the move at all, but it's really easy to buffer an input like that when I do it with other characters (Ex. 6B > 5C > 632146D with Ragna).

66 2b - Input the dash just as you land from j.2c. If the opponent techs, you're doing the 66 too late. If you don't see a dash come out, you're doing the 66 too early.

2b 632146c - do 632b146c.

I had a lot more success with #8 once I started hitting the B during one of the down directions for Wisdom of the Divines, i.e. 632B146C instead of trying 2B > 632146C. If you're already doing that, then I've got nothing. :)

Oh... oh my lord. I'm now able to do both of those combos no sweat! Thanks a TON you guys. Now I feel like I'm getting somewhere.

Though it's against Mu, I wanted to ask the people who actually play her. Why do people say be patient against her, when she can break guard primers, zone, rushdown and has a DP. No matter which character I am (except maybe bang) I don't understand what exactly it is I am being patient for. I understand it for Lambda, but not for Mu.

Posted

How well you can rush Mu down depends alot on the character. For many of characters not playing patiently is akin to impaling yourself on one of her C pokes. It's not so much patience = victory, but that plan B is death.

So about the 2B crossunder. I'm having problems with people mashing 2A to get out of it; which I thought they couldn't do because of the frame advantage. Does this mean I'm mistiming it?

Posted

If they mash, cross under with 2a/2b/2d then jump to force a whiff. Or cross under and DP but that's just kind of stupid. lol But it'd work. But you should be at an advantage. I don't see how you could be getting mashed out unless you're using some slow move, timing your meaty wrong, or they're mashing DP.

Posted

I played with it in training mode, the timing of the cross-under can effect how easily or if it can be mashed out of. You want to do the sliding move as early as possible and still cross-under.

This is no surprise, but, bang has the easiest time mashing out of the cross-under.

zeromus, did i play u yestreday? or few days ago? is that u?

Oh did we? What character did you play?

If you want, we can continue this in visitor messages so we don't clog up the Mu general thread.

Edit: Oh now I remember! You were that awesome Rachel. GGs, my friend and I were all really impressed and stuff lol. I loved that guard crush into lvl 3 j2C combo.

i just started playing mu-12, i learned most of her combos. but her crazy oki setups are hard to learn! any advice?

Outside of practice? I actually recommend videos. Search Mu videos and Matches on Youtube. Actually seeing the character perform the setups helped me learn what they were supposed to look like, and watching other players use them can give you a better idea of how the work in the context of an actual match.
