MacArthur Blunts Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Just found out tonight that you can dash through a reversal VV and airthrow him. Really made my friends go "WOOOAAAH"
Wirya Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 So what is your general strategy when playing Slayer? Playing hi-speedy. What's your game plan with him? Utilizing all of his movements to the maximum. In general, how do you approach the opponent? By moving around unpredictably. Slayer has many deadly moves which can be very predictable/linear, so I just gotta play unpredictably no matter what. Are you more aggressive or defensive? Neither.
rtl42 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 React to baiken doing crazy chain move, bdc dot to avoid that annoying clash! you don't have to BDC the DOT to beat the chain, you just have to react on time.
Wirya Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Guys, maybe we need to make a complete guide on DOT. We need to give the move the appreciation it deserves ^^
MacArthur Blunts Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Here is the guide: 1st rule of DOT - Hit it 2nd rule of DOT - Don't ask questions
Villainous Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 3rd rule of DOT: If you're gonna do it, learn the damn FRC!
Hellmonkey Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 just CH with it everytime, who needs an FRC
rtl42 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 if you use your FRC, then you don't need to CH every time to kill your opponent.
Honnou Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 tick throw setup: gold burst, DOT as okizeme (RC OR FRC DUN MATTER), FOOTLOOSE JOURNEY SPIN THAT CAPE SON, land, 66 grab.
MacArthur Blunts Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Everyone I play against IB's the last hit of footloose and fucks me.
Zaido Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 everytime i try to do Footloose i end up crossing them up :V.. lol...
Honnou Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 The trick is not to do the footloose too high/too early P.S. I often do this when a burst knocks them in the corner/edge of the screen (fake corner) so I never cross up. :3
Villainous Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 So I found out tonight, you can DOT Zappa's Raoh ghost super on reaction for a free counter hit. Pretty nice stuff. Don't let them try to chip you, haha.
Villainous Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Apparently vs. Baiken if you do a JCable move and she tries to H counter you can either A) jump up and air throw her really easy or B) if you're spaced far enough away, just jump back and throw out j.H and let the bitch jump into it and get CH.
rtl42 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 idk about air throwing her really easily, you have to space yourself and time your jump cancel -> throw correctly or you're gonna get CH.
Ross Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I just laugh as she trys to counter a quick move and then standing punch... haha. But yeah if its JCable jumping and faultlessing is awesomest.
MacArthur Blunts Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I'll say this again... 5K gatlings into 6P. 6P CH's any counter but Ouren and the run through one. 6P also has an FRC if she keeps blocking. Ouren, Jump back HS into big fuckin combo. I believe I showed one in my Mac and Cheese video.
Mariodood Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Hey guys, I'm new to Slayer but decided he does too much damage to ignore him. So far I've gotten pretty much no competition, spending most of my time in training mode before i head to the arcade. Some questions: What is BDC Mappa good for? How often do you guys use Pile Bunkers? How safe are they? (I know the FB one is safe) What would do you guys do for combos off of 2H assuming you have no meter and are far away? What would you guys do for combos off 2H assuming you have no meter and are close up? When I'm in the corner and very close, I use 2H, 5K (jump cancel) j.K, j.2k, j.k (jump cancel) dj.K, dj.2k, dj. D. I was so fucking giddy because I found this just by fucking around in training mode and it seems pretty good. Then I realized its not that great because they need to be cornered and I need to be really close. Also, for some reason, I have a LOT of trouble doing this on the left side..and I'm not one of those people who can only play fighting games on one side. I'm pretty good on both. My problem is right at the j.2k (jump cancel) part. On the left side, the jump cancel just..doesn't come out! I just fall to the ground. WTF. Anyone know what my problem is? Thanks in advance
