In all seriousness that really is not a practical combo at all. You will NEVER hit a really good opponent with close Slash. EVER.

Sweep into summon is the way to go, that's why I use (2P), 2K, 2D xx Centipedes. 2P is your fastest normal. It is a good combo starter.

Yeah, 2P is nice in tight situations (with the proper timing and FDing, it can beat the last hit of Grand Viper), good defensive move. Still, if I'm anticipating something and know I have a little leeway, I like to use 6P to take advantage of invul frames.

I've been playing around with ridiculous Raou shenanigans. For instance, Edguy into Darkness anthem. Edguy RC 66 Edguy DA K toss for instance. It's super character specific according to timing and setup, but the general idea is to continue combos when you would otherwise be forced to end because of knockdown, or perhaps to throw in more edguy hits (since you can get a minimum of 5 edguys if you use the generic 6HS DA K loop to set up between hits).

I'll give more info on character specific later as I hammer it all out, but so far it's worked on nearly every chara I've tried.

Again, this is just silly shenanigans. While the damage is good, it's not exactly good for mixup or anything, and the Raou loop would probably work just as well. Still, if you want to go for humiliation points, this'd be the combo to use because it's so ridiculously flashy.

I was wandering if run forward as wakeup move could work? I tried but being a noob in GG I just couldnt pull it out same goes for backdash wake up.

Run forward= no bad idea. Backdash= yes (but don't do it too much. The more you play the better you'll figure out when its good to use. Regardless, Zappa has a great backdash).

My wakeups: Naked: 5S far (correct spacing) Dog: ...anything Sword: 5HS (really meaty, not even Potemkin can get away) Ghosts: 236K Raoh: early 5S (wait for attack, block) kill.

Besides backdashing or blocking all you have is 6236 P+H. If you input those directions, press punch and hardslash at the same time, AND just happen to either get the sword or summon on wakeup you will have a reversal move with invincibility. Other than that you have nothing more reliable than simply blocking on wakeup.

you are screwed. =/ I don't think you can reversal the dog either. So in the end you only have 50/50 shot at getting a reversable move. Unless you're Raoh then its 100% as long as he's out. You have your 632146H super though, but use it rarily. You have better uses for that tension.

I generally block, with(out) FD. It's tough sometimes with people with awesome mix-ups (mynusdono's I-no for one). But you just have to find the right opening to turn the tables.

Zappa Love at FRXI! Three Zappas, including myself, Rudy, and another guy whose name I didn't catch were bringing the zappa (But I choked hard Vs. Kenji first round:vbang: ). As a note, jump ins just don't work people, especially on Zappa (WAY too much of that. Like, 4 Sol's jumping in on my Raou. Free Edogai. It's silly) Rudy was bringing the pain as usual, but I heard the other zappa got damn far too. There may have been a fourth, but I don't know how good he was doing. Good general matchup stuff: Got mad experience on Kenji's anji. I'll post up full strats after sleep, but quick notes: f.S is your friend for stuffing autoguard attempts at full/near full range. Follow up for pressure if he tries for gaurd counter off that (Don't expect it, it's free either way). Eddie was messing stuff up. Lots of Ogawa unblockable stuff. Give me time to try to figure out a way to get out of that on wakeup, but my best guess is to Slashback one move than then other if he's off by just a few frames (Good luck with that). Good stuff. Glad to hear that people are spreading the Zappa Love. I played Kenji's Zappa once. Didn't even know what was happening before I lost. =)

Man I need to fight some good Zappa's. Thanks for the post Oibi. Most of the North Carolina crew went to FRXI but I couldn't because of school. =/ Maybe next year.

Kenji's Zappa was nice, but his anji was pretty nasty scary too. He had that auto gaurd counter stuff perfect, handled me once on my rushdown with it (Got him back with the dog though =D). Like I said though, f.S plays games with Anji at full/near full range, because it nearly drops straight down at the end, making it get the slip when they whiff a autogaurd (Or they go for the autogaurd and you come in with 6P to beast). I might take a break from tournies for a while myself, though. There fun, but I humiliate myself at every single one =/ Gotta stop choking, I'm seriously not this bad. Well, I may as well be:vbang: :psyduck:

Kenji's Zappa is OK (though this is talking like 3 years ago, but I have a feeling he's sticking with Anji). I think the best Zappa that I've seen is probably Dangief's and an honorable mention to WonderTonic (although there's a good chance he's much better now... if he still plays). I'm so out of the loop.

I've never seen Dangiefs, but I've seen WonderTonic's. Fubarduck gets props just for that 10 second perfect on chipp... lol

Trust me, Dangief's Zappa is not what is used to be. And Kenji's is far far better than mine these days especially. Don't be fooled by mod-status.

Ah, yeah, that was me. I caught glimpses of your zappa, good stuff :3 We all play really differently though. Just goes to show how many ways there are to play Zappa, huh?

Well, I went to C3 ( Cyber club )in Virginia this weekend and it was fun. I got to see Kenji play zappa and Mamation was there. My zappa was doing pretty well in casuals but i lost to Testament in the tournament. ( Barley ) If any of you were there, its me, Tyrell. >>; Big black dude who wore all black, LOL. Played Zappa. Dog raped really bad. Honestly, the only thing they can do is run, it changes the fight in your favor almost every time. I played against Knives Sol and i did really well. The only thing that gave me a rough time was sol's command grab on wake up....eh....zappa can't beat that out with anything, not even a summon. I eventually just started back dashing for the win, lol. His sol is really good though..eh, 5K is a bitch anti air....it hurt zappas air game real bad. I also got to play against some guy who used ABA. Those matches were fifty fifty. Her 5S in her key mode connects into every damn thing.....and i had no idea. ><; My defense is weak..i need to play more people. Mamation raped me most of the matches we played. I won a few, but he won a few more than i did. >>; that guy plays so smart... Eddies unblockable set ups are a real pain. However, i blocked alot of the stuff... naked zappas 5S is too good against eddie. Well, ill be better at the next tourney. Randomness for the win! ( It really works with zappa! )

I still think Zappa's overdrive is throw invincible so someone else can check that, I'm not gonna touch the game till I go home next month. I know it wasn't throw invincible in previous versions but I am like 98% sure it is throw invulnerable in AC. I'm pretty sure I tested it. You may remember me and Nives arguing about it.

Yeah, i remember you, you were the Anji right? Yeah, knives said he could throw me out of it but i dunno... I dont think so, but he did grab me out of my summon with it, which was retarded.. Zappas super goes through just about every damn thing...ill look it up.

the summon I agree is throwable, but I am pretty sure the overdrive is throw invulnerable in AC (even though in Slash you could throw it) if you come to the may C3 (the really big one) I'd like to get some games with you. record sol doing a tick grab from 2P into command grab or something. it should grab your summon but not your overdrive if I am correct
