Denthorn Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I'd argue for Kokonoe to be allowed, as I found the concerns everyone had with her to begin with sufficiently addressed by ASW. Except that patch isn't hitting until May, until which time Kokonoe is still spectacularly stupid. My votes for banning her. Frankly I don't really feel any desire to play this game with her allowed at local tourneys.

We know she's broken, we know her mechanics are busted as shit, and it takes just one player who utilizes it to ruin the fun for everyone. Considering that some people here are actually unwilling to participate in Ranbats because of it - something that no other character has done for us - it's for the better that we just keep her locked out till then.

Mr Oso Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) Let me try and put this into perspective for you(Though really there is no defending kokonoe in the slightest that it would make sense) In a normal match of BB X character hits you and knocks you down sets up oki/mixup(fucking ice) etc etc and after doing so how ever many times they take a round. . .simple yes? This even goes for the top tiers like Valk-Lit-Haku(When hes not in OD) etc like a good ole normal fighting game. In a normal match of BB with Kokonoe she proceeds to cover the screen full of shit and throws out silly normals until she gets 50% meter which i assume is not hard to get seeing as her combos corner carry and also gain her a pretty great amount of meter. After such knockdown she cast a mystical magical spell that only some(not many) of the cast can deal with thats "UNBLOCKABLE" which proceeds to shit you out only to get face raped by koko. If opponent had already burst prior to the combo that would demolish his/her soul there only options would be to : A:Turn off Ps3 B: Quit games and play gundam C: Verbally/ Physically attack said kokonoe player D: Wait for patch Im sure there are some other options but those seem likely to be chosen depending on the setting. Im no good at math but 5.7+7.3= Dead tager. . . right? Now big ole tager sure does have alot of HP. Make sense cuz yah know hes a big bastard and is slow like a turtle. Now if tager died from this. . . . . . .and he has the most HP in the game. . . .then. Well as math goes i may be able to put 2+2 together to decide that all other characters of the cast would be dead. "But carl has unbrockables" Tis true my boy but he also has a shitty shit hop and has to chase the cast around 90% of the match dreaming of landing a hit and hoping he didnt use all the nirvana meterz to get this hit and also realize what normal he did so he can do the correct setup. As for koko its herp derp super yo hold diz damger bruh iight? "But oso i spend dah munez on her no fairs" Well my good friend Unfair would be Haku vs Carl matchup being 9-1 for every iteration of Blazblue to date (maybe one of those was 8-2:eng101:). Whats that? you put the time and effort in to learning all these setups? How unfortunate. . . please proceed to cry me a river in which i will ride my boat called the U.S.S Idontgiveafuck down. In short, She bee dum,She brokenz,Pik Noel, Mash D, Profit. Actually, depending on what route she goes for, none of the cast can defend against it. Let's take: Hazama. He can dodge her 236B>5C>22B>Black Hole setup with his astral (lol) if you delay tech. BUT! If you go for a part of her "infinite" blockstring, you can set it up to where he can't even do that. So between both those setups alone... Only burst can save you....until you get baited. She'll be nerfed hard soon enough. (If you don't ban her though, I promise to do my best in Kokonoe mirrors to show them the terror of said character~) Edited February 19, 2014 by Chickzama

Same venue, for anyone who's new, the address is 3000 Custer Rd #170, Plano, Texas 75075 Venue fee is $3, entry is $2 a game, winner takes half the pot, half rolls over and goes to the season winner for that game. Point structure is 10, 7, 5, 3, 1, and you get the total of your five highest scores. We'll be playing GGXXAC+R, P4U, and BBCP, and anything else will be up to whoever wants to bring it, or if we have enough people we can do a team tournament or guilty gear 3 on 3 or something. Run tell dat to Facebook. Also if you make an FB event Jet, can you PM or text it to me so I can give it to the venue?
