GhostTear Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I know the game is old but why isn't still played in tournaments? Sure Blazblue is cool but Guilty Gear is just as good.
Zinron Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I'd say Guilty Gear is better. More on topic though, I think the fact that it's old is the main reason. Since its old the player base is far to small (certainly is here on the east coast) for many tournament organizers. I doubt we'll see it at evo again unless a new installment comes out even moreso now then ever since now we have the new BB, mvc3 will be out next year, other newer would take the spot it could have (I'm lookin at you AH3), etc. Heres to hoping Aksys mans up and puts out a new GG sometime soon.
GhostTear Posted August 1, 2010 Author Posted August 1, 2010 is it possible for us to petition them to make another gg game or at least make the same game but enhance it graphic and console wise.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Even being old (lol?), I bet GGAC would have had a lot more players than those (overall boring and totally unhyped) MBAA matches.
VR-Raiden Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 It's on PS2 for one thing, which is not as compatible with HDTV's. Another possible reason reason is that people are just too lazy to learn it. Shame, cause it still blows any other "anime-fighter" out of the water.
Zinron Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Even being old (lol?), I bet GGAC would have had a lot more players than those (overall boring and totally unhyped) MBAA matches. Wasnt GGAC also voted on for the last evo and it lost out to MBAA? I'd call it a tad old at least compared to (most of) the other games.
Kamui Moon Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Wasnt GGAC also voted on for the last evo and it lost out to MBAA? I'd call it a tad old at least compared to (most of) the other games. guilty was excluded from the poll. season's beatings is the real guilty major. get in there!
Hellmonkey Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 there wasn't enough of a turnout last year and too much of the scene moved to BB. those who still do play gg did almost nothing to try and get the game into evo, whereas the mb scene was very proactive in doing so. gg won't be in evo again unless there is a revision.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 >>the mb scene was very proactive in doing so After hearing that the MBAA tourneys didn't have even 10% of the assistance of other tourneys, I'd say people was just voting it for teh lulz
qwerty Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 not really. melty's been one of the biggest games on east coast for awhile now and most non-sfiv capcom games are certifiably dead at this point. so, put two and two together.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Do you call that "biggest"? ... if so, then the fucking genre is dead.
DoomieJ Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Do you call that "biggest"? ... if so, then the fucking genre is dead. It is dead if you compare it to Shit fighter. It isn't dead if you dont compare it to anything.
ElvenShadow Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Everyone should go to Seasons Beatings this year. Ghaleon is doing his best to try to make GG a HUGE tournament. You should all go out and support it for sure. I will also most likely be running Frosty Faustings again in the winter.
zer0kage Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I really hope GG comes in as a force next year unless a new GG is actually announced lol.
