yea i spend about 200 bucks every weekend, but i also make 3 grand a month and dont pay taxes on my earnings

"ballin'" indeed...

Damn man that's the life. How hard was it for you to adapt to life in Japan compared to the US?

How can you put it up? Drinking, playing 10 hours a day, sleeping randomly. It must take its tool on the body. I'd feel shit after 3 days, maybe you've just got used to it? Strangely the body can't adapt to that, so.. hope you have fun? :v:

well i dont really do any drinking during the week and i only play guilty gear on weekends, during the week I have a pretty normal and regular schedule, get enough sleep and stuff, so my body can handle 2 or so days of drinking and playing with not much sleep adapting to life here didnt take long, i pretty much knew what to expect anyway, i dont think I ever really went through culture shock or whatever being an ALT is easy, i only teach a few classes a day and spend most of my time studying japanese and sitting online, i recommend it

We can wait for Mike to respond, but I'm pretty sure you can have a bachelor's in anything and totally do it. As for Japanese, you don't need to know any, but I'll let him field that one too.

Having little to no japanese skill is actually a plus when applying for Jet. On top of that, I've had my friends tell me things like "If you lived in Japan for 3+ years, you pretty much can't get accepted". They want people who are more likely to speak english than Japanese in a classroom. Degree/Japanese skill level are really not all that important I think. Besides that, Mike can probably shed some light on the interview portion. Just make sure you graduate college or it's way hard to get a work visa. ps: Mike, sorry I suck

What do you spend $200 a week on?!

Weekend. If you read his blog its pretty easy to see. He travels A LOT and typically enjoys himself.

To bad about the DF2 qualifiers. It would have been too much awesomeness to handle if you made it.

Japs all over the area would explode in fevered rants and discussions on what such an omen forebodes. "gaijin in mai TOURNY!? NO WAI!"

Ah, I read it quite often actually. I just had no idea that he spent that much but I guess all that kinda adds up. I'm always waiting to see what's next on the Bozac show. Mike, Have your students drawn you doing anything else?!? :keke:

regarding JET, all the stuff other people posted is pretty much correct. i have a degree in economics, it doesnt matter what you majored in. for application info just go to the jet program website, just do a google search and it has all the info you need on there. applications will be due soon though so hurry if you plan to try. with money, sometimes I dont quite spend that much, like this past weekend I only spend like 150. most of it goes to booze and arcade money. it adds up when you play at the arcade for like 10 hours a day and it sometimes costs 100 yen per play. every time I win a match I basically save myself 100 yen. blog will be updated later today

you need a bachelors by the time the job starts, so since the job starts in august, if you are going to graduate next summer then you can still apply, you just need to have your school write you a letter stating that you will have your degree by that time

MIU seems like such a cool guy. I only chilled with him for a little bit and had no idea what he was saying but he seems real cool

The semester is starting to get crazy so I might not be able to hang out as much :/ Oh, and about the whole suicide thing, I don`t think I`ve ever been on the Yamanote and not seen the Keio or what ever the main train line delayed >.> Maybe I can come out and play this friday? Weekends from now on I think are saddly being devoted to my stupid japanese culture class project, but at least it`s a study of maid/moe culture :kitty:
