J13901 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 For a newb, the challenge mode is pretty freakin' tough. Let's start from the first hard combo- Any advice for completing the second combo in challenge 3? The combo starts with: 6a, dash, b, sjc, babc For me, the hardest part is timing the first b followed by a sjc. Can the sjc go straight up or does it have to be a forward sjc? Any advice welcome!
GenoWhirl Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 While I beleive Straight up sjc works, it's recommended to use Forward Sjc. To make the combo easier, try to hit with 6A while he's high in the air, giving you more time to dash.
J13901 Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 agreed, the trick is getting a good high cat punch and a clean release between the dash and 5b.
J13901 Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 The next tricky one for me is 4-2. The opening piece of the combo is: Throw, 7D, Dash, 5B It seems like the best timing is to start 7D when the slap animation hits. Then there's a slight recovery time before the dash 5B. Any other thoughts?
calendula Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 For Me I, Inputting the 7D right before the slap animation hit works better.
GenoWhirl Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 The trick is pressing 2D in the right moment. If you do it correctly Bang will end up in the ground, giving you more than enough time to dash and do 5B, while still getting many of 6C's hits
Yukikaze Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 When exactly would 'the right time be' You suggesting I do it so he's lying on the floor? Demo does it a different way. I'll try it anyway
GenoWhirl Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 hmm, the "right time" would be just a bit after he begins flying upwards I think Check this for visual reference
Yukikaze Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Ye thats what I thought, the animation for 2C is so long its awkward to react to. Im guessing I can D the 6C? and it will still work, right? challenge mode doesnt seem to mind you adding additional inputs.
Gil Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Why is challenge 10 so retarded? orly? I thought that combo was pretty practical. >>; Yeah, that's it...practical.
GenoWhirl Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 100 meter and 5 winds for 4.6k damage? No. Just...no. Hell in that video I linked earlier you do like 3.8+k from 6A why waste 50 meter for 700 damage
Gil Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 I was joking, Geno. xD &wow, really? Need to try that out then.
checkplus Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I was so happy when I got 10. It actually ruined all my other combos for a while cuz I couldn't stop doing things from that combo, not to mention that I had to fight the urge to push select every time I dropped a combo.
gli Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I still haven't finished challenge 10 but I did all the other ones on release day. I looked at the challenge 10 list via menu and just said no.
Prestizi Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Now that CS2 is out... Challenge 7, any tips / tricks -> specifically the part with C -> 1D -> BBL?
[SpA]Relentless Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 It's easier if you do it in the corner. Immediately cancel j.C into BBL and then input 1D - it will still register correctly and BBL hits fully on a cornered opponent without wind as well (so you don't need some stupid timing).

Oh, wow, this is much easier. I was trying to hit 1D during the BBL input. Thankee.
Kashell Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I think it's challenge 8 (and I know for a fact that in the portable version it's challenge 10) where I'm having some new difficulty. After you knock the foe in the air with 6A, you immediately follow into BBL. From that point, you have to do a high jump, then make yourself soar higher with 8D and then slam down on Bang with 2D and 2C. I cannot figure out how much time I have before he recovers. Is that combo used often? I watched a few videos and have only seen maybe one battle where it was applied.
tofurr Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 It depends on the height of your opponent. For that specific one, you have to be in the air only for like half a second to a second, then j.2CD. It's kind of hard to explain, just keep practicing it.
[SpA]Relentless Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Is that combo used often? I watched a few videos and have only seen maybe one battle where it was applied. It's used all the time actually (the j2C(Lv3)).
Ekiso Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I can't for the life of me get J.2d Down and all of the tutorials are in Japanese which I can't read. Someone please help me. I am having troubles with inputting 2D and jumping straight afterward only to have to do J.2C straight afterward. How does someone overcome this?
[SpA]Relentless Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Get used to it one by one. First only do j.C 2D, and jump 2D dj. Once you're comfortable with both, try putting them together to j.C > 2D > djc. Then finally do the whole thing, j.C > 2D > djc > (delayed) j.2C(Lv2). Some other tips: Try it on Tager first, his fat hitbox makes it way more lenient. Turn off airtech in the dummy options. If you get the Lv2 bounce from j.2C and the combo bluebeats, you know you did the 2D jc part right, and you only need to adjust the timing of j.2C (remember, it's not inputted instantly). Btw, for this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1pwQlq0uiY we have a translation here http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?10864-BlazBlue-Continuum-Shift-II-Rachel-Combos&p=1070217&viewfull=1#post1070217 . Good luck.
