Good games last night Eric/Dom. I noticed you guys used Makoto / Valk for the first time in a while. Since CP is just about out anyways, we should have an all secondaries night before the game comes out. Would be pretty interesting since I think we're all very much familiar with Extend Litchi/Tsubaki/Jin anyway.

Also, I talked to Sam, and it looks like we will be meeting at NCSU's DH Hill Library from 6pm til close. EDIT : forgot to mention it is Friday, not on Saturday,

Ah, that's actually not a bad idea. Take it you're interested or was that purely a suggestion? :3

Yeah I'm interested. But don't know the best way to do it. Need psn$ on the japanese psn to get it, and I guess you have to buy a card or digital delivery code from some site to do that.

If you guys remember Sam saying he wanted to do some kind of all anime event at NC State, it looks like we will be running that on October 25th. Venue looks pretty nice, and we got good internet (they actually tested the stream like 5 minutes ago). Look out for some Day 1 BBCP!! :)

If you find someone else that might be better since I do have the game coming anyway. It would be kind of nice to have a digital version too to get playing earlier and not have to deal with a disc, but it is some work and such.

really, neat timing.

yeah very convenient timing right before CP. Hopefully we all get our games before then. Or at the very least I'm hoping to get the game that exact same day of the event so we'll have one more setup for BB.

And Sam actually plays BB now (he bought Extend and is practicing for CP). xD He's playing Plat.

Yeah, it's a pretty nice room. We actually hold our anime club meetings in the room right next store so it'll definitely work. I checked it out for a while myself and got some games in hoping some people from the library showed up, but that never happened. A shame since we now have it reserved every Friday from 12 to 10 pm. :/

So people will be going there every Friday then? If that's the case, I'll try to make it to some of the off-week sessions as well.

Also I was wondering how you guys feel about moving all of our Bi-weeklies to Anime Almagest (that's the name of the bi-weekly) after this upcoming WNB? We could do both venues, but I feel that since Carolina Clash is at NC State (and now Anime Almagest), we'd probably have more consistency of participants there imo. Just wanted to know what you guys think?

Also, info from Sam :

Mann Hall, NCSU Stinson Dr, Raleigh, NC 27695

Starts at 5:00pm on Fridays (though I'm sure the actual tournaments will start much later than that).

Mann Hall, NCSU Stinson Dr, Raleigh, NC 27695.

After much anticipation, Toshokan Tomodachis would like to present Anime Almagest, a biweekly anime-focused event located on NCSU campus. Venue is $3, and entry for each game is $2, allowing anyone to get a tournament experience for just $5. The lineup will probably change over the first few tourneys, so please come out and support your favorite games!

For now, the lineup is as follows:

Arcana Heart 3

Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core

Blazblue: Chronophantasma (launch party get hype)

Aquapazza

Shin Koihime Musou

All games are for PS3, except for Koihime and Melty, but you guys probably knew that.

Because of the low venue fee, we will not waive venue fees for many individuals wanting to bring setups. You are welcome and encouraged to bring setups, but don’t expect to get your venue waived!

The venue is Mann Hall, Room 301. Please use the Reynolds Coliseum Parking after 5:00PM for your convenience. If you need help finding the venue, please contact Sam Woodson at 919-744-9909. If you enter Mann Hall from the main entrance (second floor) take the hallway on the left until you come to the elevator. Room 301 is the first room out of the elevator.

We hope to see you all there!

Not sure.

I feel like it could be a shame to leave WNB right before CP releases. There might, or might not, I guess, be a bunch of people that will want to play after CP releases. if we don't go we won't get the game out there. Again I don't know.

the other thing is that fridays an active night, and wednesday isn't. I pretty much rarely have anything going on on a wednesday, but friday isn't the same. Maybe we could do some of both and see how things go? We could just offset WNB a week so it falls on different weeks. do the 16th at WNB, 25th at AA, 30th at WNB. Maybe skip the 16th due to CC on the 19th?

Posted (edited)

That is true. Perhaps setting WNB off one week and alternating might be the way to go. Plus, since WNB has all games (not just anime), we'd probably have a higher chance of getting other people from the outside as well.

EDIT :

And yeah. we can probably do the week switch some time after the 25th. For now, we could still go to WNB on the 9th, then CC next weekend, AA on the 25th, then have WNB on October 30th (which would be the week shift).

Yeah that said I don't really do any of the work, I just show up and play games. Do whatever you're comfortable with and I'll follow.

See you guys later tonight? Sam should be coming too this time.

EDIT : Oh yeah, and secondaries! Gonna use some Makoto, maybe Rachel tonight. :)

Posted (edited)

Yeah, some Makoto and Rachel...... :)

i might even bring my copy of CS2.

I guess tonight was pretty different since it mostly consisted of us teaching Sam the game. xD Will be nice to have a Carl player though, once he gets the hang of him. Guess we'll get our next matches in on CP, Eric.

You could maybe look into splitting the cost by sharing a digital copy with some people?

How could you "share" a digital copy? Can two ps3's have the same account logged on at the same time?

Posted

Yes. Your ps3 account can have content active on two ps3s at a time.

Sam and I (along with some other people possibly) are heading to WNB tonight, so if anyone wants to get in some games before CC (and Friday I think?) then we'll be there. Also if I'm not mistaken, it's player appreciation night so no venue fee for Arcade Edition (i.e. free aside from gas, food, etc.).

Aw, I won't be there, but I will be at CC. Can't believe we only have like one whole week before CP hits. :)

Also bringing up the topic of bi-weeklies between WNB and AA... I think that now with so many other people in NC who are importing CP, there's a good chance that people are going to be playing BBCP often regardless of any specific dates (especially at NC State since I think there are like 6-7 players there who are planning on playing CP anyway). For now, since BBCP is new, I think we can pretty much play things by ear in terms of attending gatherings and such (not having any specific set dates) since we're gonna have a good amount of people playing / showing up anyways.
