JFlan5 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Never hurts to ask lol. Arcades were a lot more common when i was younger. Just about every mall i went to had one but most went out of business.
purify Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) Same deal here. I think one of the ones I used to go to just opened back up recently, but it probably just has ticket games, Galaga and Daytona USA or something like all the other ones that are still around. There's a few Midway or Namco arcades in NC that will have like one MK machine and SC2 or something, and there's one in Fayetteville that has some Capcom games but I dunno the current state of that place. A BLAZBLUE cab here would be like...impossible. No one around here would have anything more current than like 2002, except for some folks who have private collections. Our Raleigh anime con in May every year has a game room that sports Japanese cabs, so that's the closest you'll get around here. Edited December 14, 2010 by purify
purify Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) You guys remember the Classic Games Done Quick event from Magfest that I streamed at my apartment during a gathering...last year I think? They're doing that again this year, and the game lineup now has more modern stuff like MGS, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil 1-5, Bayonetta, etc. http://speeddemosarchive.com/marathon/ Edited December 15, 2010 by purify
Zoogstin Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Yo due to gold bursts having a 110% combo proration, Hazama has a 10,576 damage combo if he uses both bursts mid-combo. For all the characters who can combo into gold bursts this can get pretty lethal lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-LIvq2Zymc
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Practicing GG is soooo much more satisfying than practicing BB.
purify Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I'm surprised to find out they still make GG figures: http://www.kidnemo.fm/product/en/778/Guilty+Gear+XX+Dizzy+Alter+Ver+1+8+PVC+Figure.html Maybe a good thing? Also Rachel: http://www.kidnemo.fm/product/en/781/Blazblue+Rachel+Alucard+1+6+PVC+Figure.html Pretty cool.
Frank The Tank Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 Practicing GG is soooo much more satisfying than practicing BB. What options do you have off of blocked GB FRC?
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 (edited) Depends on the situation, it's ~+11 or +12 on block if I'm reading the frame data correctly, but that's assuming you block it on the first active frame. Done meaty, it's significantly more (GB is active for 14 frames). Distance is a factor too. If I'm doing a crossup GB after the 2D -> GB(whiff) setup, I'm a lot closer, so it's pretty good there. If it's just run up meaty GB on your wakeup, I'm farther away. I'm still messing with it, really. It only cuts off the last 2 or 3 frames of HOS's recovery if I'm reading the data correctly, so I'm not sure whether or not it's really worth the meter spent. EDIT: Messing with this makes me think the frame data is really inconsistent on this move. Using the situation outlined above, with an FRC, I have time to dash up and 2S, which cannot be escaped by jumping away. Whereas without an FRC, you jump away well before I get very close. Doesn't seem consistent with what is only supposed to be a 2-3 frame difference. Edited December 17, 2010 by TITANIUM BEAST!!!
purify Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 TAIGA UPAHCUT with a move like GB, your options with frames probably depends on where you end up in relation to the other character, what character it is and your penis which is bad because if it's smaller than a nose you can't do much
testament101 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 would it be possible for somebody to give me a ride to Brent's house tonight?

Zoogstin Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Need more GG and BB. Been hangin' out in training mode in GG and I have too many options with what i could do with the dog, ghosts and Raoh. I don't know what to do... Can't figure out a playstyle yet. Hope everyone is having a good holiday season.
purify Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) What time are you coming out today James (if you still are)? And was anybody else coming? another edit: The Rose wiki on SRK is okay, kinda scrubby though and incorrect in some places. edit #54432943: so James isn't coming, which means Blake certainly won't have a stick, which means no games today. purify Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 New post in case someone misses the edits. I did an air combo with Kohaku that did 5.7k. F Koha is so good, I can see why you'd waifu her. Mad waifuable. That guy said I had improved a lot since the hotel gathering at NEC. I was like...no, no I haven't.
vZakat Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 After reading the changes to Rachel in CS2, I might be interested in learning some BB. Knowing Rachel doesn't completely suck makes me happy. I still miss CT Rachel though. After watching Frank the Tank's and Titanium Beast's matches against Moroha from NEC, I don't know if my scruby A.B.A can hang. I'm excited to try though. I think my I-no may have gotten better than my A.B.A recently too.
Zoogstin Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Glad to know you're pumped to play. I wish we did bi-weeklies. Also the Carl players in the Carl forums are so pessimistic it hurts. *wine*wine*wine*
purify Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 That's character forums anywhere man, it's just worse for mid and low.
RoboCurse Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Ragna wine > carl wine, just needs some cheese and crackers now.
Frank The Tank Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 Are you really being a dick tho? I don't see it that way. But of course, you know that already.
purify Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) edit: Well, I think we've gotten our points across re: the Demo/Will thing. Not enough caps going on for true Demo rage though. Edited December 22, 2010 by purify
purify Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Matt and Brent are white...Demo and Will are black... COINCIDENCE????
Villainous Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I don't think you're being a dick. Just saying what we've all been thinking for months, atleast in regards to the "I hate SF4" opinions in every god damn post. I mean hell, I hate Melty Blood but atleast I only say it like every 2 months. Btw I hate melty blood.
