magz Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Interestingly enough, I only heard about it a couple of days ago... =|
natearistata Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 My first match better end in DQ again.
vanfleihight Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Love and adoration if someone can give me a ride to it.
KatanaDash Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 where from? edit: what I am retarded and can't read... it says in your profile.... disregard this!
Fayk Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 So speaking of tournaments and such, how come it doesn't look like BBCS is going to be at the next NCR? (http://norcalregionals.com/) ? Too much overlap with NCI, or...?

Tone Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 So speaking of tournaments and such, how come it doesn't look like BBCS is going to be at the next NCR? (http://norcalregionals.com/) ? Too much overlap with NCI, or...? to see any game that's not a capcom staple (tekken aside) at NCR would shock me. GG never made it into NCR at the peak of it's popularity either :\
Dakanya Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 to see any game that's not a capcom staple (tekken aside) at NCR would shock me. GG never made it into NCR at the peak of it's popularity either :\ i think ncr is too new to have ever seen gg at the peak of its popularity? on top of what tone said, it is also probable that they believe the norcal bb scene has yet to prove itself worthy of ncr
Spirit Juice Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 NCR has been around since 2003. lol
Dakanya Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 oh really? i was always under the impression that NCR two years ago was the first NCR. shows how much i know about fighting games lol
Fayk Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 to see any game that's not a capcom staple (tekken aside) at NCR would shock me. GG never made it into NCR at the peak of it's popularity either :\ Thanks for the background. That just feels like them being small-minded though. I mean, hell, Jojo's is a capcom game and has more in common with something like GG as far as I'm concerned than it does with SFIV. Then again, no one plays Jojos, so... cough.
Arvoyea Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Or it could be that NCR, like EVO or majority of the US community don't care about GG/BB/MB because they're Capcom-only. Somehow our games are too much for them even though it is in some ways like older fighting games.
ViridianSabre Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Then again, no one plays Jojos, so... cough. I hope that was a suggestion for us to run some mad Jojo's matches when we're up at my place. Cause I like that suggestion.
qwerty Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 it's mostly an issue of scene, i think. which is fine by me, since if i want to play capcom games, i'll go to ncr/keystone/whatever.
Arvoyea Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I hope that was a suggestion for us to run some mad Jojo's matches when we're up at my place. Cause I like that suggestion. Yeah, let's go with that one. I'll have that going on alongside BBCS when people come over. I don't call my type of sessions "anything but SF4/SSF4" for nothing.

The problem is that NCR is supposed to be pretty much for any game big enough to pull in numbers. BB would probably do decently well at NCR, judging by NCI's numbers (although this assumes people show up to be competitive, not to be faggots). It would certainly do better than GIVE-RICKY/CHOI-FREE-MONEY: THE GAME, er I mean CVS2.

You have just opened pandora's box. You're gonna have to call campus security to drag me away from Jojos. Seriously, don't tease me like that! Game's too awesome. I'll probably be too busy this weekend (at least through saturday) due to a wedding, but after...
qwerty Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 It would certainly do better than GIVE-RICKY/CHOI-FREE-MONEY: THE GAME, er I mean CVS2. i like me for cvs2 this year
TaoFTW Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 i like me for cvs2 this year We might as well put in shaqfu in the scheme of things. GIVE-ERNEST-FREE-MONEY: THE TROLL

Spirit Juice Posted September 29, 2010 Author Posted September 29, 2010 First NCR actually had XX or #R. I forget which cabinet was at SVGL at the time lol. While GGXX was at NCR1 (I think) and NCR2, it never made a return, even at the peak of its popularity in 2008. Actually I don't even know if NCR happened that year, but it probably did.
Honnou Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Scott can you edit the first post and link both NorCal Install and my biweekly thread in it? And any other threads you may think relevant. I think it'd be good to have our first post be informative for new or unaware people.
