Do you want me to pick you up? I work this Saturday, so I won't be able to come till late.

I come back home to the bay area every weekend now so don't worry about it. I'm only in SF during the weekdays.

Can anyone reserve the Crown/Merrill lounge (next to the Crown dining hall or in the middle of the apts) on the 24th? I wouldn't mind hanging out at UCSC for one day.

Do you want me to pick you up? I work this Saturday, so I won't be able to come till late.

Pretty sure Indigo and his friends worked something out but if not, I'll call them. We definitely are already planning to play that day, though so it should work out one way or the other. Just not sure if the lounge is reserved.

I've been wanting to start playing SC2 again, actually. But Imma warn you, I'm an absolute scrub.

Haha that's fine, I play all types of RTS, but I will play SC2 if other people want to play. I don't really mind if you are good or bad, if you want to play, we can play, just ask me :D PM me your info + messaging info (AIM, MSN, w/e) when you feel it's appropriate :).

Anybody down for gamecenter friday or saturday? I'm thinking about going depending on who goes.

Maybe...I dunno we will see I guess haha.

I've been thinking of getting a PS2 stick lately. What's my best option? I already have an HRAP3; is there a converter out there that works well? I've been wanting to learn GG (I have the game and everything), and not having a stick that works on my PS2 is the primary thing stopping me.

Advice?

Wait for the Akihabarashop PS360+ PCB. It should be out later this month. They're adding PS2 support. http://www.focusattack.com/pages/Preorder-Status.html

How much does it cost?This replaces the existing PCB in my HRAP, right? How hard of a mod is this? I know how to solder and whatnot, but I've never worked with a stick. And how does the PS2 support shake out? Do you have to replace the existing USB cable? I don't have any experience dual-modding sticks, sooo...

I'm not afraid to do the install myself, I just want to know what I'm getting into, is all. If you need someone to do yours, I'd be happy to after I do my own.

Also, I got an ok from the manager of A-1 in Roseville to let us sit and play casuals one night a week. I'm moving this month so I can't really get anything going in September. But when I get some free time I'll try planning and what not. I figure a lot of people won't show up in general, so we'd need one to three set-ups. We can go any night as long as it isn't Friday or Saturday night, it'll most likely be Sunday night after their PokeMon League though.

That sounds awesome! I have my PS3 I can bring, but I don't have a display that's portable. Actually... scratch that I might have a CRT around here somewhere. I'll have to see.

Yay for late replies (can't believe I forgot to check this thread (_ _ ) *facedesk ). I don't think I can reserve the lounge since it's so early in the school year, but I can always just occupy it with my PS3 until you guys get there (¬_¬) . If the one next to the dining hall is taken, I might be able to get the one in the apartments since it's rarely used, though I seem to remember that there was some Police/Emergency Response training taking place last year... If that doesn't work then I guess we'll just meet up at my apartment? The common room isn't that small and we have plenty of chairs. I'll send everyone texts saying where we're meeting when I figure it out (it'll probably be the day of).

Time will probably be about 2 PM till 5 PM if that works for everyone. Feel free to show up earlier and stay later if you want.

I have a Hori Real Arcade Pro V3 SA for the PS3 if anybody wants to use it.

When I hosted tournaments at UCSC, you need to talk to the student counsel for room reservations. The easiest way to do that is to talk to your RA. The student counsel building is next to the Crown dining hall. Since you are hosting a video game event, you might as well receive funding from the Crown Student Senate. Get it done ASAP. iirc, I got $85 from the student senate when my friend and I did our event. http://crown.ucsc.edu/studentlife/css/CssMinutes043007.pdf (Smash Slash Street Bash).

It is unlikely that I'd be able to get funding due to the fact that the date is the 24th. All requests for funding must be submitted to the Crown Student Senate 2 weeks prior to the date the event takes place. Given that the CSS usually meets on Mondays, I wouldn't even be able to present the event for funding evaluation until the event was over (the first Monday of the quarter is the 26th). If I try and put together a future gathering, I may consider the idea of making it into a tournament. Truth be told, I was more of just planning on having casuals instead of any kind of organized tournament.

Why do I have this horrible feeling that we'll all get beaten bad by this "trolling" (<__<;; ) .

Hey guys! I'm leaving tomorrow morning. Leaving to Italy for the military. Staying over there for 2 years. Luckily, I found a BB scene there.

But, I'm going to miss you guys. The time I had with you guys were truly enjoyable. I'll keep in contact with you guys here, and still look up from time to time.

See you guys on the flip side. :D
