Reiki Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Hey everyone, just going to give a rundown on how the King of Fighters XIII Ranking Battles will work out. The first week starts on July 8th at 5 PM. Registration will open at 4 PM. I suggest that you pre-reg by going to the arcade as the entry fee increases. The entry fee is 5 dollars, 7 if you pay the day of. The tournament payout is 70/20/10 percent for first, second, third respectively. 3 dollars goes to the pot for each entrant. Prizes are awarded based on ranking at the end of the season so constant participation is encouraged. The tentative end time is 10. It's double-elimination, best 2 out of 3 straight through. Brackets are seeded randomly and are posted on challonge.com. You may only switch your team after every match. When you win/lose, you can choose to play someone different for the next fight. More will be posted once Southtown arcade gets it up. I look forward to seeing many of you there!
Ginseng Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Reiki, I visited Southtown with 2 of my friends approximately 3-4 weeks ago and the KoFxiii cab only had the Type A layout available. Has this been changed or is it still strictly the Type A layout?
NegroNInja Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 It's still type a only, I dunno if they'll ever install another button. As for Demonninja, haven't seen him since school ended, heard he was grinding in the sfsu arcade though. I haven't been down there in a while cause I work too much =(

vanfleihight Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 So is Spirit Juice still planning to do those fight nights or what?

You may ask if you like. I'm not sure how many people that go to Southtown would use it though. As far as I know, the majority of people in norcal play on Type A.
Dacidbro Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 everyone here should stop kidding themselves, quit fighting games and play this instead I can't quite place it, but I feel like this game is.. primarily fan service?
Arvoyea Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 So is Spirit Juice still planning to do those fight nights or what? I hope so. I can't quite place it, but I feel like this game is.. primarily fan service? It pretty much IS fan service.
LuminAbyss Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 everyone here should stop kidding themselves, quit fighting games and play this instead I bet Willy would manage to find a way to get fourth in this game. :3
Reiki Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 You may ask if you like. I'm not sure how many people that go to Southtown would use it though. As far as I know, the majority of people in norcal play on Type A. I know that a lot of people who play BB might enjoy the Type B more because it's what they're used to. I have talked to them and they'll see how it works. Truth be told, they weren't sure it even did have a second button layout. I think if they just add the button, the game will recognize it, but I'm not a machine specialist so I can't say for sure. Would be glad to see you stop by or play at the tourny!
[TRM]tenkai-45i[xTF] Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 How much play does Vampire Savior get at Southtown?

buzzsaw Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 tenkai-45i[xTF];1068028']How much play does Vampire Savior get at Southtown? None, its not even there

Oh, you enable the option by going into the KoF Test menu. I see several socal players as well as JP players using the type b snk format whenever I see match videos of KoFxiii. Unfortunately, I probably will not be able to enter the ranbats at Southtown for awhile, due to lack of playtime, as well as other time commitments .
Arvoyea Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Am I the only one in Norcal who prefers using Type A config for BB? Is type B better in anyway?
Eggs&Rice Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Am I the only one in Norcal who prefers using Type A config for BB? Is type B better in anyway? I use Type A as well. But it seems like players that are actually good at BB use Type B.
LuminAbyss Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 It's all preferance. I use Type B because that's what I learned on stick first and I just never changed afterwards.
