BagLunch Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoPnes27sLI Heart-sama cannot be hurt by ordinary attacks. Then he does command grab FKO. Though seriously, stupid bullies get what they deserve.
BagLunch Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Did Clarence mention the self-immolation Phoenix team concept yet? Basically you put Joe on your team with bomb assist. If your opponent refuses to fight you when you have 5 meters, you kill Phoenix yourself with Joe.
Orikasa Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 GGs Mike WU. Anti-Magneto strat: MASH LEGS. Fuck yo high-low mix-ups.
sweetvids Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Did Clarence mention the self-immolation Phoenix team concept yet? Basically you put Joe on your team with bomb assist. If your opponent refuses to fight you when you have 5 meters, you kill Phoenix yourself with Joe. The problem with that concept is that it's dependent on VJ being alive when Phoenix is out and you have 5 meters which is usually not the case. Also funny enough I thought the fat kid was the bully and the little kid was trying to get back at him for being a bully since why would a scrawny little kid be a bully? They get ended so fast like what you see there.
BagLunch Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 A scrawny kid trying to get back at a bully wouldn't make such a weak effort of it. Look at the way he threw those punches; they were practically taunts. When seriously angry kids decide to fight bullies, they are way less cocksure about it and way more desperate (nevermind whether or not the hits actually hurt the other guy). It's not usually the case that a bullied kid swaggers in on a bully.
sweetvids Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) True. I was kinda like "wtf" when the scrawny kid was jumping around like he was Ali in the later part of the video. The first punch was really weak as well. I remember when I punched a kid who was bullying me in grade 8. I chipped a tooth upon punching him. Then he tried to fight me the next day and I beat him up in front of 300-400 of our peers. It was awesome. But nowadays fighting isn't worth it. Especially as an adult. You may have to possibly deal with assault charges or fighting charges, and that may produce a criminal record which may fuck you over for getting a job in the future or something. Shit comes back to haunt you. Not to mention the possibility of the guy wanting revenge and getting his crew after you, tracking you down and your friends. I've seen the lengths some people go to to settle "beef" and the results are never pretty. Kind of dislike that people are downgraded to pussies where you have to "talk" everything out or work it out in a "civilized" manner. I disagree. Sometimes shit is just better with fists, but the problem is the mentality of the fighter. It's never "okay I win, you lose" or "you win, I lose" and it's all good. It's more like "I'm gonna get that fucken punk. Call up your boys, we're gonna jump that bitch and beat the shit out of him". Women are even worse than men when it comes to fighting as well. The problem isn't dealing with the fight itself but the repercussions afterwards. Edited March 15, 2011 by sweetvids
nagai Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 It was awesome. I wasn't there, but I remember people telling me that my cousin got suspended for fighting or some shit. I tell them, "wtf I have no cousin." They all thought we're cousins because of our last names or something. Didn't you also get in trouble for trying to catch spawning salmon with your bare hands? haha
BagLunch Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Today's word: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephebophilia It's not ALWAYS illegal!
BagLunch Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Irem cancels Disaster Report 4. You may have heard of the previous entries (with the awesome localized name RAW DANGER), but the motivating disaster of DR4 is a big earthquake, which is way too close to home right now. Releasing such a thing would've been a PR nightmare, and it was slated to be released this year! Hopefully this cancellation doesn't sink Irem.
Cardinal_Sin Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Releasing that would have been quite a .... disaster .... report fuck that didn't work as well as i thought it would
Orikasa Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 And Ryuga Gotoku: Of the End (Yakuza: Zombie spin-off) has been delayed because of the disaster as well. Perhaps seeing fucked up streets, buildings, etc. wouldn't be very good. BIONIC AAAHHHHHHHRM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJtzA8deLcI

rtl42 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 this is directed principally at mike and paul: due to the various disasters and problems going on in northeastern/eastern japan, my wife and i are reviewing our wedding ceremony+reception date, and we are currently considering postponing it to a later date, perhaps to april or may. we have to get in touch with the wedding planner, and i still have to talk to my parents, but from my wife's side (her family as well as her relatives), it seems that it will be quite difficult to pull this off successfully. i will keep you guys posted, and we will probably make a decision within a day or two.
rtl42 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) wow, two big earthquakes just happened: one off the coast of Miyagi, another in Shizuoka (magnitude 6.0)! the Shizuoka one is closer to my place, and the apartment was shaking enough that my wife and i ducked under tables. we felt it at magnitude ~4 at our place, just btw. edit: magnitude in Shizuoka was revised to 6.4. Saru Kada Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 stefan: I might still be able to cancel my tickets as I've booked but haven't paid for them yet, but I'm not sure about paul's case. we can get a full refund on the hotel no problem though. please let us know asap!
rtl42 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 will do. it's 12:30am right now, and my wife can't get off work until at least early afternoon, so it'll be another 12 or so hours before we have any idea of when we can postpone the wedding to. i'm not exactly sure, but if we postpone it to later, then you may be able to postpone your flight by changing to a different flight date (rather than outright cancelling). in any case, just make sure of your options on your end. edit: i was reading some articles about news abroad -- and i heard that people in BC are stocking up on iodine! what a laugh.
nagai Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 http://www.bcpharmacists.org/news_events/news/news145.php ^^^ Health Canada wants me to spread this message. There shouldn't be a problem here in BC... We got a BC-wide fan-out message today saying to NOT stock-pile iodine for people... Usually fan-out messages are reserved for when suspected prescription forgeries are within our area, or if there were robberies in pharmacies around the area. This lady comes in and DEMANDS that she get iodine. We don't have any, so we tell her that. Then she accuses us of lying and gets all lippy... WTF, we can't even order it from our supplier if we wanted to. Yeah, it's pretty silly that people want to stock-pile it here, when it's definitely more needed Japan.
BagLunch Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Are people stockpiling it for the sake of reselling it to Japan or something?
Greed Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 No there's apparently some panic about fallout drifting across the ocean over here. People are depressing. Stefan, you planning on leaving Tokyo anytime soon? My fiancee's family just left it a couple hours ago cause of the radiation levels.
nagai Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Yeah, people are depressing. They're all hoarding it for themselves. I also think some pharmacies are stock piling for themselves, so they can sell to the hoarders.
Greed Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 hahahaha so ayumi's older sister is dating this american japanese, right, for the past couple of years apparently two days ago he shows up with everything packed, and tells her he and his sister are leaving the city to get away from the radiation, and she's welcome to follow them afterwards so owned :/
rtl42 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 (edited) i'm not panicking about the radiation. i know this is a serious crisis, but we're not within direct harm of the radiation yet, and being irrational about it doesn't help anyone. maybe i'm misreading this, but according to this report from Asahi.com: http://www.asahi.com/special/10005/TKY201103160186.html the level of radiation in Tokyo on the morning of the 16th (today) was 0.089 micro-Sieverts. The usual level is ~0.035 micro-Sieverts, so although it's higher, it's not nearly at the level where you need to start worrying about it. it's funny that you mentioned that, Dace, though, because a friend of mine (from Victoria) who's in Tokyo, as well, just took off last night to Shizuoka because of the radiation. when i was talking with him yesterday afternoon, before he left, i was even thinking it would be ironic if something happened in Shizuoka... and then there was that M6.4 earthquake at 10:30pm last night lol. =========================================================== again, this is mosty directed at Mike and Paul, but in principle, this relates to everyone: After discussing the situation with the wedding planner at the shrine, we have decided to postpone the wedding ceremony and reception. We have tentatively set it to June 18th; however, we are still waiting to hear back from our parents (my parents and my wife's parents) to make sure there is no schedule conflict. If there isn't, then we will go with June 18th, and we'll try to inform all guests of the change in schedule. As such, it's okay to cancel your hotel reservation now (I would recommend it), and if there is no schedule conflict in June, I would recommend trying to exchange (? I'm not sure if this is the right word) your current tickets for tickets in June. Edited March 16, 2011 by rtl42
