huey253 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 DaiAndOh, after ReveLAtions, I will post a detailed analysis of all the matchups i feel i can i've played enough (offline) of match up specifics and strategies. the matchup thread doesn't seem to great other than a couple specific characters... i would recommend everybody hold of for atleast 2 weeks on match-ups... although nobody can actually enforce (other than Dai/10stars)

It seems like dacidbro just made threads for every character, even though he didn't have experience in those matchups. I think we should avoid doing that. (bad info is worse than no info imo)
TD Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 true, unless you play a character that is well known by someone/people. like, say, litchi. you get shit wrong, lk will probably test it and tell you. idk what the deal is here, l THOUGHT since l hear people say dacidbro was gdlk he'd know (or share, im not hating ) the matchup bits. but idk who the really gdlk bangs are and how deep they will analyze these sorts of things. we have that sorta in the rachel thread (its the mu matchup shits im heated about) regardless, im prooobably the only rach in NY... or anywhere... so if NY even plays bb again ill have a few bangs to fight maybeeeeee

I think we should try getting together and discussing matchups that nobody knows here rather than posting "almost nothing". I know the other thread is for matchups, but i think the first post should have meaningful content about the matchup, which would promote discussion better... I am not hating on you, and i totally think you should make the threads, if you personally have played that matchup. :3

It isn't completely universal. In fact a lot of his combos aren't, even if they seem like it, but no character specific notes have really been listed about that kinda stuff. I started testing combos and making notes about that stuff a long time ago as you can see from the air ender section, but people didn't seem to really care at the time about the rest of it so I stopped posting it. 2 examples: The 2 seal combo that Nezu and I think Den were doing in CS1, That 2 seal combo even though it wasn't the optimal 2 seal combo, it provided different oki setups. One may think it is universal, but it most definitely isn't. You record that combo on Jin and it will work and then play it back against the rest of the cast and you'll see all the differences. Now that combo is one of Bang's BnBs in CS2, because of the changes it may be more universal but at this point I haven't spent that much time on it, so we'll see. In CS1 it definitely isn't. The combo you're talking about is kinda the same way, You read it and there's no character specific notes. You try and do a regular forward throw and do that combo and you'll find out it doesn't work against Bang / Carl for whatever reason. You'll realize that you actually have to do a back throw against them for it to work. And I'm not even sure it works on Tager / Rachel but I can't remember. And I'm pretty sure there's other adjustments that need to be made for other characters or it might not even work out right against them. Stuff like that is important but lacking here. One could say that's stuff you just learn with experience or training mode, but for the site that's supposed to be for people who are competitive and "serious" about learning you would think those details would be important enough to be posted.

Because of the way/s I play Bang and how I treat the matches, it's almost always fun, even still in CS1. So in that regard CS2 will be nothing new since I've always had fun playing the game the way I play it.
