mr.mortified Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 that i dooo, i guess i have to build more cases then...... still have no idea what i should charge for this stuff
Razgriz Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Speaking of dual mods, I just got my PS3 stick dual modded by someone I know. Just used a gutted 360 pad and a physical throw switch so it only works on PS3 and 360. I did it so I can play on Xbox while on campus. Also, I haven't been too active lately but I plan on making it to LG this Friday.

Tofu Warrior Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 that i dooo, i guess i have to build more cases then...... still have no idea what i should charge for this stuff I guess you could figure out what the parts cost you first, then you add the cost of labour. Quote me a price and we'll negotiate. I want a dual modded stick with Sanwa parts. lol, Tofu, your birthday is 3 days after mine. Happy birthday to us~
Tin Man Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 BLAZBLUE TOURNAMENT UPDATES Standard Payout is 70/20/10 I changed it to this 3. 2 out of 3 winners/losers final and 3 out of 5 grand finals plz (personal peeve of mine, other format lasts too long). But then that would mean that everything prior to this is just 1 game, best 2/3 rounds. I'm not in favor of that, sorry :[ 4. This is the week before Season's beatings. are you sure there isn't an SF event being held? Vaughan has told me that I'm in the clear to host this tournament. I assume this is the only event. I can make sure tho. 5. If you want more heads, I suggest advertising this on other sites. What sites would you recommend. Do you know where T11 was advertised? 1. You don't need that many consoles for a BB tourney, real talk. It's cool if you want to hold a bunch of casuals though. 6. I personally think just having BB is boring. Though I guess it's kind of hard to provide set-ups for other airdash fighters since they're all on PS2. If you guys want to bring other games, i'm down with that, considering that 8 setups is apparently a lot. I just wanted to be prepared lol, but it saves the hassle of asking/depending on people for setups (well i'd just need to ask less people lol) I feel like you wouldn't need 8 set ups. BB:CT at T10 was run on 3 set ups if I remember correctly. Also 10 am is mad early for people commuting from like Thornhill, Richmondhill and Markham...you as the tournament director would have to be there at like 8 am to get everything set up. With that being said, I won't be there because it's the day before my birthday lol. But I wish you guys all the best, I'd show up if it were any other weekend! Come to my tourney to celebrate yours & Leo's birthdays :D. As for the schedule thing. I will push it back since you and Roldy are against it. And for the record, I personally don't mind waking up at 8am to organize a tournament. I've done it enough times before hand ;o 2. Either go all Xbox or all PS3. Speaking from prior Street Fighter 4 tourney experiences, multi-console tournies never run correctly. Your call though. I'll take your advice. I'll make this an all PS3 tourney. Which means that I'm going to aim for at least 4 setups. 6 setups would be nice. The TV's are already there, therefore all people need to bring are PS3's. Look at the thread for the current console count. In addition, I will allow 2 of the TV's to be used for side games. The side games will be purely casuals, no side tourneys please!. Fell free to bring anything, but LET ME KNOW! I'll have to approve it. poverty HnK? what about real HnK? also xbox as a platform for this is a bit........ iffy mainly controller switching. Its not as easy as ps3's controller switching. also xbox pads fkn suck for fighters, another reason why you should use stick tinman especially if its gonna go multiplatform also i dunno if i'm wrong here but could it be like in SSF4 xbox vs ps3, xbox version is faster than ps3? consistency is the name of the game here Just get GG:AC on PS2. I vote PS3 for BBCS because the majority of people who play BBCS are on PS3. And...are you serious? 10 am? Make it at least 12. So it will be all PS3 for BB:CS and 2 of the TFNS TV's can be used for side games (casuals only). And the schedule has been changed, take a look. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?10188-Console-Revolution-October-9th-2010-Toronto-Ontario-Canada&p=772206#post772206
X-Sapphire Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 http://www.dustloop.com/forums/content.php?64-Going-Back-to-Guilty-Gear Man I agree with this post 100%. The truth is out. BB = SF4. See you guys in gg.
Tofu Warrior Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Mr. Mortified, check your PMs. I changed my mind about the custom stick, but I still want to do business lol.
Freezerburn Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 one cent off? lol i'm guessing that's after tax and shipping right? Yeah, it's $109.99 compared to the $129.99 on the website. It's a decent deal if you wanted some limited edition swag. I've been eyeing the thing ever since it was announced. wanna giive it to me to dual mod? :D Haha, actually, when I was in Ottawa, I was the "tech" guy for the city. I've done numerous repairs and mods so I've got myself covered. Also, for pocket change, I charged $30 for repairs and single stick wiring, $40 for multi mods, $50 for anything adventurous (supergun, slim sticks, etc). I think this pricing was the fairest, as on SRK, you'll get people charging $60 USD for just a dual mod. This is just for labour, not including parts. However, with that said, I provided a couple of spare parts from time to time because I have a shit ton of buttons and joysticks. With that said, if anyone needs parts for something, hit me up first. I may have it and due to me not having a job, I'll prolly let it go for a cheaper price.
Fiedrik Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Might go to that tournament, unless i have work again this time around... I want to pick up that TE stick but i just spent money getting a sf4 one this summer. I still need to dual mod that one if someone wants to help me lol.
Linear04 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?10190-Americans-dont-get-BlazBlue-CS-2-for-Arcades-eh i thought the whole point of digital downloads was to expand your market
Tofu Warrior Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 The boss should just cram a console into an arcade cabinet and call it a day. It works well at Chinatown Fair in NYC, they have four SSF4 cabs there.
Tin Man Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 so any other quams about the tournaments rules?
Leo7 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 But then that would mean that everything prior to this is just 1 game, best 2/3 rounds. I'm not in favor of that, sorry :[ Where did that logic come from? I mean EVERYTHING except grand finals should be 2 out of 3 games. BB has a rather small community, and I don't think it can justify longer sets. But again, your call. You can advertise the tourney on like ... RedFlagDeals (Believe it or not) or Shoryuken (though I don't know how many people will care). Side games won't work if they're PS2 with LCD monitors btw. And yes running a tourney that early is kind of bad. And sorry to rain on your parade, but tbh, I doubt a lot of the Gety crew will be attending this. Master Kou's going to be out of the country. Pui gets rides from Master Kou and he's a lazy fuck so he's not coming. If those two aren't coming, it doesn't give incentive for a lot of the other Gety members to come. Good luck on the turnout though. I don't know if I want to come or not, undecided at the moment.
Roldy Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I guess this coming Friday will be a training session for us then? Unless Pui somehow goes to Gety. ...This thread is kinda dead right now, lol. And yeah, I don't think people will be going to that tourney on Oct.9th. I just found out I'll be busy that weekend too, so I can't go.
unsanctifier Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 really looks like that tourney is going to bomb
Asdferty Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I just got the cast list for the play I'm in; I'll be playing Apollo... but more importantly I'm also playing Hermes. Awesome. So I'll be able to fill in for Hermes whenever needed :P Also however close I can come to winning with the scrubjet sol I have, I'm going to get some montage music going so I can play like kusoru (I think that's how its spelled). Train hard and throw grand vipa's e'erywhere, guilty gear is just so intense even when I'm awful.
Leo7 Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 so many kusoru imitators, not enough shineiyaa imitators
Roldy Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 ...Can we have a tourney when Master Kou comes back? At Lovegety, of course.

Man, things arent lookin so good turnout wise
Linear04 Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 only problem was that it was on such short notice post in random toronto gaming forums, and some random anime ones too, weeaboos love bb i think mal had a huge bb club
Roldy Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I don't know Tin Man...it's just that October 9th seems kinda...random. Especially because of the fact that it's not at Gety, where Toronto's main BB scene is. How many of the BB / GG participants at T11 were Gety people?
mr.mortified Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 i believe we only had like 3 non-gety teams out of 11 also gety tournament would be great, now i can lose in both BB and GG :3
Tofu Warrior Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 And top 7 for BB singles at T11 were all Gety regulars. This tournament could be a success if the community had more than a week and a half's notice. I knew about T11 months in advance, so it made it easy for me to book that day off work and clear my schedule.
Roldy Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Valkenhayn is out on PSN! About the tourney, is there any other date that can be done instead of Oct. 9th? Not earlier than the 9th of course. Maybe in November (after mid-terms)?
