I myself haven't played the other ones. I've only been watching AH3 videos and I'm interested. Seems more interesting to me than BB has been for me. I'm also just looking for new games to play lately. GG at gety seems to have hype waves, haha

Those hype waves will be coming every 2 weeks now! Ranbat HYPE!

i think anyone with a modicum of sense should be of the opinion that the boss shouldn't invest in a new and somewhat expensive airdash game, such as mbaacc or ah3, because no one's going to fucking play them. the chances of those games getting a decent community at lovegety is really fucking small. pretty sure the chances of those games getting new regulars is 0% and only a fraction of the existing playerbase at gety would bother playing those games as well.

it was also a pretty good decision to only buy 1 ssf4ae board. 4 ssf4ae boards would have been suicide.

i mean i'd personally love to play a bunch of games at gety (*cough*vsav*cough*) but let's be realistic.

p.s. better hope nesica dies.

then we don't cut a deal, duhhh

i'm just expressing my interest in ah3 at gety, everyone is riding ssf4ae so hard right now it's obvious he won't be getting another air dasher for a while 'till the hype dies

Name one air dasher i want to play right now.

megaman x? Let's do it Jason. You take megaman x1 and i'll finish x2. We can air dash our wins.

i completely agree with leo.

The only contribution that AH3 and MBAACC would do is contribute to gety's death.

Also another AE board will contribute to that death, the hype is already dying and its been 2 weeks lol.

Even getting the new GG (if it ever comes out and not on nesica) is only contributing to gety's death.

In conclusion:

Gety needs to close down.

NO!!! What about TTT2 this summer? He can close after a few months of that.

Is it really dying down in Getty for SSFIV:AE. What's the wait time now? Last time I went there on a sunday, I could hear crickets inside the arcade.

TTT2 is probably on nesica since it's namco so it'll prolly start killing the game every where except japan.. it's weird i know to imagine korea without tekken

i'm kinda disappointed in Toronto's SF4 community.. how very little hype they have for AE... although it's really picking up in other places.. i guess it was never a problem with the game but the people

well since korea is on an infrastructural level close to that of japan, i can see nesica making some changes to be in korea.... after all they even have a tv show based around tekken

and sf4 is really dying down that badly already? damn, that sucks

it already died.

saturday night activity was pretty low. i got to play more though. but if i'm playing a lot, i don't think that's a good sign, considering "yo, i don't even play this game".

if my posts seem cynical, it's mainly because i'm echoing master kou's disappointment in AE's performance.

so yea ... toronto ...

Well the first friday it was here, the lineup on friday lasted till 4am and this was a huge lineup... at least 10 maybe even 15-20.

Then the following week (I went monday wednesday thursday friday) there was a constant lineup everytime I looked. The line wasnt too big (6 or so people) on the weekdays but on friday it lasted until 4am with a lot of people. Other days i wasnt sure since i leave at 12 or so.

Then the following week when I went on wednesday, there was a lineup till 7 or so with maybe 6 people, then it became 1 or 2 people beating on the machine.

Then on friday, the lineup was really short throughout the whole day. Probably 6 or so, got worse as night went by...lasted till maybe 1:30am? (we went to tenren at 1 so im not sure) but when we came back at 2:30? there was practically no lineup and jabir got to play

On saturday, went pretty late at 11... but by then the lineup was already dead. I think 4-6 people playing, and by around 1am after we went to eat, the lineup was me, wu, leo, and wilson lol.

so yea, hypes already dead. And I'm disappointed with Toronto SF4 community too lol. I mean like back in myyy day when CS1 just came out, I think me n hermes went 6 times a week? And we beast on each other the whole time (hermes spend like 30 dollars in one day? lol)

fail community.

Lol, Probably like more than half of the sf community are console users that only care for the console version or just don't know about lovegety. Or probably when they goto gety they won't notice a difference lol.

Heroes World, just down the street at Warden and 7, hosts SF4 casuals every Wednesday and Friday. I went once and there were at least 15 - 20 people, which is a great turnout. They were all XBL pad scrubs, the only person worth playing was Blitzman, it was a collosal waste of time. I spent the whole night teaching everyone how to play lol.

You need to play at the arcade to be good, period. And 99% of those guys will never step foot inside of Lovegety.

putting back the hnk board = same results as an ah3 purchase

Good to know about SSFIV:AE.

Yeah, most people won't travel for the same game with 2 new characters.

When Tekken 6 came out i was at ghetty 7 days straight.

I also remember when BBCS came out, me and barry were there practically everyday getting owned. LOL

Arcade scene is hard to revive when we got spoiled children for consoles.

I sometimes wish we lived in Asia where the arcade scene is atleast mediocre at best.

Last thing i want to hear is "I can own you if I only had my pad", which I heard all the time when Tekken, BB and even SF was out for console and arcade..

Sigh at the new generation of fighting gamers.

+1

However, I technically belong to that new generation of fighting gamers (began playing seriously in '08), but I got my start at Lovegety and I never stopped. That cutthroat, competitive environment shaped me as a player, so I became decent by adapting in order to be able to compete. That's the difference that arcades make.
