Zeromus_X Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I'll text you after work; did you get my reply yesterday Marq?
Angelic Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Im also hosting tonight guys, persona at my place along with marvel and maybe kof per usual
Chumaralupa Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 So cancelling supers from specials also costs 5% health like R-actions, aka, Aigis's machine gun into chariot rush super. Still finding new shit out
Omegashrimp Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 ^Didn't know that lol. Wow, just one raw special does a lot more damage than AAAAA. Once I'm not so preoccupied with managing my charge, I hope I can actually block things.
Greyvangelist Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 haha i'll do real combos soon enough I just gotta focus on marvel for this mash up tournament, some big money being thrown around. Gotta defend AZ from california persona was super fun for how much i played it though oh sorry Armando I wasn't shitting on you haha, I was just talking about people who only do that and have no intention of doing anymore
M19Kamikaze Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Hey guys. just wanted to thank everyone who stopped by (or netplayed) yesterday and today. Never hosted before so it was a big deal. I'm just very disappointed in myself that I didn't serve you guys chicken and Kool-aid.
Zeromus_X Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Here Armando, this is the translation for that video: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?14680-%26%2320096%3B%26%2312373%3B%26%2312435%3B-s-Chie-Combo-Okizeme-Video I got six reps of the SMP loop today...in training mode.
Synthesis Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 GGs Marq. ^_^ It was fun. I'm scared of what you'll be able to do once you start punishing my awful zoning. In other news, I'm learning Garu loops. And random Liz hitconfirms. This bitch is hard.
Chumaralupa Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Brian made me realize just how gay Liz can be, I didn't expect that matchup to be so gay, time to work on it. Ted I hope you're anywhere near as good as Brian's Liz. GG's Brian, and people who don't read this forum. I need to go test some setups I thought of as I was playing tonight as well as see how the Japs handle Aigis during Orgy mode (yes Orgy), I'm pretty sure I'm using it somewhat correctly but I feel like it has more uses elsewhere, not sure if I'm just supposed to sit in that mode when I'm fullscreen or not but I'm pretty confident that you're supposed to save it until you have a positive situation, especially since it runs out after 4 or 5 uses of Orgy moves. I gotta go read the arcade patch notes and see what's different between current Aigis and old Aigis to see if I'm trying to do something that isn't actually viable anymore. Anime side note: Apparently there's a new character in the upcoming Madoka movies? I thought it was just a movie-retelling of the series but maybe not.
M19Kamikaze Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I shouldn't even be shocked that he's good with Liz. Really, I shouldn't. What was he doing exactly?
Chumaralupa Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Thanatos putting Liz on his back and carrying her to victory, he must be one tired Persona.
Chumaralupa Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 (edited) If I'm not getting anti-aired by the Fear-sphere or air grabbed, then yes. I finally drafted up the RanBat info, I've updated the first post and I will cross-post this to the MM forums. Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena RanBat schedule 1. September 14th 2. September 28th 3. October 12th 4. October 26th This schedule is final unless an unavoidable problem arises for me. These days are the Fridays opposite the weekends that HazBats occur so that people who want to go to both aren't using their whole weekend to participate in both. Sign-ups will start at 6PM and the tournaments will start at roughly 7:30. PM me for address/directions to my house. Each RanBat will cost $5 to enter, $3 will go towards the pot for the night which will be split 70/20/10, the other $2 will go toward an overall pot to be split between top 4 overall between the 4 ranbats in a 40/30/20/10 fashion. This is mainly so that if somebody who is doing really well can't make one of the RanBats then they're not entirely screwed out of the overall pot, and using 2/5 of the $5 will allow the pot to be split in such a way and not end up being slim pickings. The RanBats will be Double Elimination, using brackets generated from Challonge. Points per RanBat will be distributed as follows: 1st - 6 Points 2nd - 5 Points 3rd - 3 Points 4th & 5th - 2 Points The scoring system is like this due to the fact that these Ranbats aren't going to have as many players as a UMvC3/AE tourney BUT the game is new and thus players can evolve greater between any two weeks more than you'd see for a game that's been out for awhile, thus the results will probably differ quite a bit between each ranbat, people getting better and aiming for the top is what I want to see. Therefore with this distribution, those who show big improvement will be rewarded for it but those who may have made 1st or 2nd at first and drop behind a bit later on will still not be shafted too hard and can make their way back up. In double elimination there's essentially no real "5th" place, and I don't plan on holding a 4th vs 4th place match, but I wrote 4th & 5th to clarify that two people will be getting those points. Game rules are pretty standard: 2/3 Games, Winners Finals and Grand Finals 3/5 games Loser may change character Winner may change color palette to further instill fear in their opponents. We're going to have a mix of PS3s and 360's, there's really no easy way around this and since there doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference between the consoles for this game, we should be fine, but keep in mind that if your stick isn't dual modded you may have to use someone else's stick. If you REALLY wanna use your stick I can try and let you wait for a station to open with the console you wanna play on. I have 5 Monitors/TVs, aka 1 big LCD TV, 2 ASUS (EVO) Monitors, and 2 CRTs. The RanBats will be ran on the ASUS Monitors and the CRTs while the big TV is going to just be for casuals, not because anyone has ever complained about lag on it, but just because there should be a casual setup AND I'd rather not hear about peoples pretend problems playing on it. So although I will be set on screens, I will need like 2 or 3 people to bring a console/game, and everybody should bring a stick if possible. Lastly, assuming I get it working properly, I will be streaming/recording on one of the CRT's, why? Because it's next to the other big LCD TV I have that lags horribly and will be using for the computer that's streaming, and since editing and uploading individual recordings to youtube was a pain in the ass for BB, I'll just be letting Twitch record the RanBats and I'll just leave them there, if anyone wants a specific match recorded for Youtube or something let me know and I'll see what I can do. I'm excited to try and bring a more competitive atmosphere to the "anime fighter" scene that's been lost since the old GG/MB days at Melty Haus. The Blaz community got pretty shafted in terms of gaining experience and being able to up their game for regional tournaments, but with the advent of this game, a good portion of SRK and also the new players on MayonakaMidnight forums, I hope this game can be the first of it's kind to gain exposure on a larger scale leading to (hopefully) renewed interest into the new GG and BB to come with time. But above all, let's try to have fun, and help each other learn so that people who want to get further have a chance to do so. Lastly, the Friday's that aren't RanBat days, I will most likely hold casuals, if I do I'll post about it. Edited August 9, 2012 by Chumaralupa
Valthazeryus Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 BBCP is fucking amazing. They reinnovated so much good shit.
Hateraid Red Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 (edited) I could tell that elizabeth was going to be a mountain to climb for me since i first saw her. Hopefully learning the match up will help make her less intimidating. The nature of playstyle hints that she may be a dominate or get dominated kind of character, though Edited August 9, 2012 by Hateraid Red
ThienKieuTam Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 (edited) Well I won't be participating in those ranbats. Hmm I'm having extreme difficulties fighting against Akihiko players Edited August 9, 2012 by ThienKieuTam
M19Kamikaze Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Elizabeth is so frail. I think you just need to play smart against her. I have yet to play an Akihiko. Or any other Yosuke aside from Chris. Netplay consists of Naoto and Mitsuru tho.
Hateraid Red Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Akihiko gives me problems as well. His normals are pretty amazing
Theupstreamer Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I think brian has a big advantage on us right now because he actually does combos.
ThienKieuTam Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Yeah his normals are ridiculous. His parry into super is bogus! I've only played against 2 other Yosuke players within my playing time on xbox, and they were easy peezy. On a side note, I almost reached the 8k damage for Yosuke. His last corner ender combo is what gets me. Brian is hella good I'm guessing?
ZeroKunoichi Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I think brian has a big advantage on us right now because he actually does combos. There is no Combo in Brian.
Orrax Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Hey, I'm back from the swamp called Louisiana. What's going on? It appears that people are getting into P4:A, which seemed really fun from the one chance I've had to play it.
Ryuuka Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Honestly I think once people start picking up combos and actually punishing me for doing silly/stupid stuff (confuse into heal x3) I'm going to have a much harder time. Generally I find that the worst places to deal with are directly below her when she's in the air, and anywhere above her when she's on the ground since she has no normals that can effectively cover those places. When Dan was playing her for like 1 match, I found that super jumping and dashing at the top of the screen was the safest approach vs fullscreen laser. Liz has an especially hard time dealing with rushdown characters. Once someone gets in on her she only has her R action and dead angle to get out of it (if she's in awakening she has the Thanatos reversal super throw). I foresee bad matchups in Yu because his moves are just too good and Mitsuru because her effective rushdown range is further than Liz's. I'm slightly afraid of Teddie right now but that's only because I have no idea what any of his stuff does, and Naoto just because she's apparently gdlk.
Zeromus_X Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Naoto's fruit loops are dumb, but her options against pressure aren't much better than Liz's and she has trouble challenging characters with superior normals, I was derping against Marq's Labrys yesterday (I don't want to think about what Mitsuru or Yu is like). Also kind of difficult to get respect from mashier players, but I barely know basic combos right now. I'm gonna have to hit the lab tonight and test out all of her normals and gatlings and really get her IAD combos down.
