GGs, and sorry I couldn't stay longer, I was suppose to have the car for myself yesterday, but my brother ended up bitching about me wanting to take the car so i just told him to drop me off the go pick me up.

GGs on Saturday. Sorry I couldn't stick around for food.

A few people have asked if there's going to be more monthlies, because I skipped last month's without giving any explanation. Yes, I want to run more tournaments. Things are just kind of crazy right now and I've been really busy. I hurt my shoulder at work a few weeks ago and my boss wouldn't let me return to work until after a doctor said I wasn't a risk. After getting it checked out, he initially thought I tore my labrum. I had an MRI to confirm it. I can't remember the name of the problem it actually turned out to be. There's just way too many syllables. My understanding is that I dislocated my shoulder all the way, and when it forced its way back in it broke part of the socket and "dented" the ball at the end of my arm. so uhh... cool? I feel perfectly fine for the most part. I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in shoulders in two weeks. My doctor said I'll definitely need surgery at some point, but I won't know how big of a deal this is until after I see the specialist. The biggest reason I haven't set a date for the next tournament is just that I have no idea what's going on yet. For what it's worth, I feel fine unless I use my shoulder for specific types of things, and I'm even allowed to go to work and work out. This thing with my shoulder is in addition to the semester wrapping up soon. I'm also planning to be out of town for most of May, and I'll be busy running and setting up a swim team at the end of May or the beginning of June (which will likely prevent me from going to SCR now).

I'm only saying all of this because I want you all to know the reasons why I haven't set up a tournament up in a while. I don't want anyone to think that I just gave up or something. Stuff's just really hectic right now. I might be able to set something up for the end of this month, but finals are the first week of May for me so I haven't decided yet. I'll let you guys know what I end up doing.

Don't worry Ryan, everyone gets busy here and there, it's just life. Maybe by the time you have time to set them up again, we'll have Persona and GG updates.

Was the "too many syllables" name SLAP (Superior Labrum Anterior-Posterior) tear by chance?

*PSA to all current Guilty Gear players and those who've been interested in it.*

For this upcoming Ranbat on the 25th at TGZ I am openly sponsoring the first 20 players who choose to enter, no questions asked. The $5 venue fee is still on you, but i'll cover the game entry. Simple and easy to understand, right?

I do this as a personal experiment and because I got a bonus at work this pay period and have some extra spending money.

Hope to see you there with your game face on.

Will, I say you use that money to challenge people to money matches.
It's charity if you lose and an investment if you win.

Or you can go to Fogo de Chao, Will, and eat all the fucking meat you ever want.

You'll flip the card over to red, but they won't give a shit, because they know you better than you know you.

But still...

Much better investment.

Event page is up. It's set to open-invite and not public, so if for some reason you can't see it I've included a copy-paste of the overall details followed by the most recent Xrd results. Hope to see more of you guys make it than last time.

Hey everyone! A new ranbat season is upon us, and our friends at TGZ will be graciously hosting the festivities for us once again! This season we are JAM PACKED with games available for tournament play, as we have added the new Guilty Gear: Xrd, and have brought back Street Fighter x Tekken (no that's not a typo, it's back!). This means that more than ever, we need everyone to be on time for their events, as we do not want to have to DQ you. This season holds some interesting questions for the community. With the reigning USF4 champion unable to attend all but two ranbats, will there be a changing of the guard for USF4? Or will Tucson step up and keep the SF4 trophy where it has been for the past 5 years? How will the new GG hold up as far as attendance goes? All of these questions and more will be answered by the end of May, so be sure to join in the fun and the drama, and see how the season unfolds firsthand. Please make note of time changes as we will be starting an hour earlier

WHAT IS A RANBAT?

Ranbat stands for "Ranking Battle," which is a series of 5 tournaments that count towards an overall Ranbat season. In each individual tournament, $1 of the entry fee will go to the overall season's pot and the remaining $4 will go to that particular tournament's pot. At the end of the tournament, top 8 will be awarded points. This will repeat for each tournament in the season while players accumulate more points. At the end of the season, the top 3 players with the most points will be the winners of the overall season and win a portion of the season's pot.

I might go since Will is ever so graciously paying for our tourney fee(which i honestly appreciate). But for the real plan, who's down for games not named xrd this weekend?

As if HF doesn't win everything here already.  :BED:

Sounds like a good excuse to run a tournament for something like Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax or Aquapazza, then. :v:

But for the real plan, who's down for games not named xrd this weekend?

I'm pretty sure section 4.b of article 3 of the National E-Sports Act explicitly forbids this. We're lucky to even be allowed to play fighting games at all, honestly.

I would be up for that, but I would need to remember how to play fighting games first. :gonk:

I lol'd pretty hard at this.

Instead of hoping for someone to run tournaments for games people don't really care about, you need to focus on how you're going to repay me that $7 from a month ago, preferably before this happens to you. :)
