What can I say, my handsomeness just caused everyone to forfeit against me, allowing me to get third. It's amazing what happens when you don't have a gross, high school mustache that makes you look like a loser.

Being beautiful ain't easy though.

Dacid lost to no mixup Arakune again? LMAO.

you should tell your boyz to hide your sex tapes, because your shit talk loses all credibility when you're still playing day 1 ac eddie.

We went over this; my mustache holds all my EC powers.

But I'm glad it take you more effort to fix your hair then to place top 3 at a fucking WC tourney. Rofl.

shoutouts to Chun for organizing this, melty players for being melty players, Katanadash and Honnou for making me want to try and pick up GG again, Qwerty for bringing snk games + cvs2, everyone who played cvs2, Blk_mage for blowing me up on stream, everybody who ran brackets and called names for helping things run smoothly. Listen, good hygiene and looking good should be standard for all FG events. Coming to tournaments with your wife beater on, smelling like shit, and looking like you're ready to stab a nigga like EC does is fucking awful. If EC is good at anything, it would be looking like grimey ass mother fuckers.

Guys, I need help running these brackets. Aginor does help out a lot but gets stressed out easily. I need someone else to help run brackets because I would like to take a break from running them and try to actually get in some casuals at these events. I can help do sign ups and make brackets, but I want to take a break from running the actual brackets themselves.

I admit that I was playing like shit. I've been putting all my time into BB since it's console release. Funny thing is though I'd still rape your trash Johnny with my auto Pilot day 1 Eddie.

I can definitely help with that. I wash out fast anyway, so I need shit to do besides sit around and look confused. =D

Kijiyama said it costs $5k to rent the ballroom for two days. So we are now left in this predicament, 'Do we want to host a semi-annual event or keep NCI to the local FG community...

You also have to realize that it's 2.5k a day with no setup(ie food but tables and shit) If you guys want to see the room yourself come swing by my work and ask to look at it. If you guys don't think you'd be able to pony $10 a month each over the course of 6 months for every person that entered then i dunno how to help you guys.

Relax. Chances are someone took it by accident. Happens a lot. Hopefully it turns up.

In regards to helping run brackets, I need someone who is going to be there at every single event.

i heard this ballroom rivals evo's... i feel that this accommodation is much too large (and expensive) for our needs.

uhh the room you guys are renting is smaller than evo's. The rate for that one runs nearly twice that if you wanted evo's size. If you wanted the specs you can ask john as I gave him the dimensions on each room you guys could rent and the price i listed for the room is smaller than what you'd imagine it to be.

what does semi-annual mean? pretty much means annual? and what is this part on the right?

in any case i'll give this some more thought before i say anything more (i need to do my homework)

Scott, I had a crazy idea for running the brackets, I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but what if we ran BB and GG with the same set of people. Because there is so much cross tourny entrance, it might make sense for every thing to be run together to a certain extent. Also that way we could have a centralized place for people to come report results.

If we get the CS club venue again, An other idea I had was splitting the rooms not by tournament, but by casual and tournament play. IE the CS club room is all tourny play and the neighboring class room is all casuals or vice versa. That way people who are waiting for matches will be in the casuals room, and thus will be in one place. Basically it makes people easier to find, and then we send them over to the tournament play room when the are up, and them come back when they are done and report results. I think this way would make a lot of sense, and would help out with organization.

Once again I don't know if it is a good idea, but maybe we could try it for November RanBat?

What do you all think?

This sounds terrible

First off, thank you to everyone for showing up to this NCI event at SJSU; I had a blast running the entire place for the first time, and are glad to have heard it was enjoyable. However, I'm not the only one who is credit to its success; it is thanks to the GG, BB, and MB community for the setups and completing everything on time. I only provided the space to set up all the equipment, without all of your efforts this couldn't have happened.

The other stars of this event are actually the members of the CS Club; they were sitting on the white board side of the tables overseeing everything. I technically do not have the authorization myself to hold rooms after hours to late hour. The officers volunteered to stay until the festivities were over for the sake of our fighting game scene. A big thanks should go out to them as well.

I'm interested in any suggestions or feedback as to the configuration of the layout; was everything visible enough for both rooms? How was the space for the streaming area and casuals afterward? Did the registration process make sense to you, etc. I'd appreciate any thoughts that I could use to plan for the next time I'm able to grab this venue again, possibly next month once more.

What do you all think?

One of the main concerns I had was segregation of scenes based on game; I originally had the intent of holding a tournament area, then the casuals area in the other room, but thought otherwise due to the spectators that would come congesting the room too much, as it may have become a fire hazard (The preliminary spectators in the door told me this). I was really concerned about the tournaments running and finishing earlier, so I didn't want to reserve a certain setup only for casuals, I decided to start the tournament times late so the earlier hours could be meet & greet as well as warm-up. People have also told me classically poverty games and unorthodox games would have also been played at NCI, thus why I reserved the larger room for such. Also, one of the perks of the current configuration was the ease of switching the stream setups; whoever thought of that dual stream setup deserves commendation, as it made the transition relatively smooth unlike the gear re-organizing at Eudemonia.

I believe if the information was updated a lot sooner in the front we could have had potentially 10 more people show up to setting as well; I expected 60-70 people, and 42 arrived not counting spectators.

On a Side Note, Just A Random Idea:

"Interesting Game of the Month"

These tournaments are all about how much hype you can get to grow the scene, for the fun of it all. I recently entered a Mortal Kombat II DDR pad tournament, which was absurd, but absolutely hilarious; things like Jackie Chan, Shaq-Fu, or that one Wii fighting game with the horrible hitboxes held for free or a significantly reduced fee (1$ entry) being held on the side until the Grand Final Match, which would be put on stream, would be hype. I don't know the plausibility of this since it depends on what IPlayWinner has to say about it, as well as how many enjoy the idea for the "lulz".

Again, thanks to everyone, do leave feeback.
