F.T.B. Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 I think it's been mentioned before in another thread but Shin and Sin (シン) are one in the same in Japanese. This occurs because of how japanese phonetics are identified in english (a consonant followed by a vowel). シ therefore is identified as "Si" but pronounced "Shi". If anyone is genuinely curious, you can fire up the ol' Japanese IMEI in windows and type out SI and SHI to see what they yield. Or for even more random fun, try TI and CHI:eng101: Highlight for assumptions: I'm sort of confused as to what the "cube" really is, but I'll venture a guess and assume that it is some means for producing slave/soldier-type gears. Therefore it can be justified that the key to accessing the core of the cube is a commander-type gear, the kokage no kimi aka. Dizzy
Mitsurugi Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Note that if it gets too messy and the fangirls/boys are too unhappy, there is still the old twist "that was only a parallel dimension, nothing is really officially accepted in the story". There already was a parallel universe where Ky died and Sol cried and mourned for him, don't remember the source. [Fake_spoiler] KK : Sin, I am your father. Sin : Nooooooooo !!! [/Fake_spoiler] So cliché !

Akira Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Thanks theria About other medias: can anyone rip the intro video? Is that as good as XX series ops? And about the OST? Edit: http://www.gmronline.com/info.asp?CatNumber=KDSD-00168~9 Vol. 1 contains orchestral music from the game. Vol. 2 has rock music. Edit2: I've found some samples of the OSTs http://www.team-e.co.jp/products_new/kdsd-00168-169/index.html

Akira Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 I didn't like so much the orchestra ones in the demo, and Keep Yourself Alive III seems so strange... it doesn't look like the other 2 versions u_u
Zeitgeist Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Maybe I'm behind the times, but has there been any word on how it is that Officer Kiske became King Kiske? Around the time the game came out, I recall hearing that Ky had become the king of a nation and feeling rather surprised. Yet nothing ever seemed to follow up on what made that possible. Does the game ever touch on that? You would think Ky being from a royal line would have been mentioned before now, so I'm guessing he ascended to the throne in some other way.
Hatred Edge Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 MURDER???? Redrum, redrum.... Ky, enraged by the fact that eventhough he lead the knights, no one respected him. They just used him to do their dirty work. Thus Ky became angry, and killed a king. He thought:"If I kill a king surley the world will think I am strong(like Sol)." But being soft at heart full of morals and goodness and crap like that, Ky cried cuz he became a KILLER. So he formatted a plan.... He claimed the King hired him to do under cover reports to find a traitor in the kings land and he arrived to late and found the king dead. Then Ky broke into tears and the people taken in by honesty and false love for the king appointed Ky the new King to stand behind him and find their former king's killer. The new Keep Yourself alive 3 doesnt sound too bad. I still prefer Keep Yourself alive 2.
Zeitgeist Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 I don't think it would be anything so extreme, but I had envisioned a similar scenario. Perhaps Ky had a hand in deposing Illuria's former king and the populace asked him to stay on as their new patriarch. Possible, if unlikely Really, though, that's why I'm asking. Wild speculation can only keep me entertained for so long.
Zazz Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Or maybe being a King (or a more apt way to describe it as an Governor) was the Post War Admin Bureau's way of dropping a massive Desk Job on Ky and making it look like a reward. He can't hop around the world now doing police work and hindering their plans, now can he? And the UN's demands of weakening his power would be a way of keeping him under their shadowy governmental thumb. Just as Planned.

There was that whole debacle where he destroyed a bunch of Robo-Kys...
bagandscalpel Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 The new Keep Yourself alive 3 doesnt sound too bad. I still prefer Keep Yourself alive 2. Alas, lack of easy, ear-catching melody will do that.

Its far more flashy than the previous version.
