Aedesyr Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Oh, and while you're there, beating the free missions(survival, etc)in easy mode will make me unlock the achievents or it does works only on normal? Doing it on easy would make things a lot faster.
kosmos badgirl Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Finally got the game . Sometimes suck to be european
Aedesyr Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Don't tell me...i tried almost 10 stores around italy and no one even knew the game's existence. Ugh. 505 games sucks. They didn't even tried to promote the game. some videogame stores told me that the game wasn't even going to be released(when i already had it from another store)! Btw the game is fucking awsome.

Aedesyr Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Difficulty doesn't matter for the achievements :3 :3 Survival with Paradigm on normal is such a pain. Btw, i need an hand with the online achievements. I still haven't found any player on ranked matches. No, seriously.
PandaKingEX Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Spamming the rolling move is pretty effective with Paradigm in survival mode.
NeoVid Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Oh, and i really need some hints about using valentine's tribe. I tried her once and i've been obliterated. You're going to spend a lot of time and mana unlocking servants with that army. The important thing to remember is that your only counters for other servant types is heavy use of support units. Have plenty of Gateaus out right at the start of the match, since they'll tear up the enemy melees early on. JJJ told me that Val/Raven should start up by bringing out 2 Gateaus and ferrying them to critical Ghosts early, since they'll hold out for a good while against melees. You're going to need to unlock Blancmange, Charlotte and Mille ASAP, and that will take a lot of time, mana and the skill to know which you need most. Mille should be carried around by you at all times, and immediately dropped at the start of any fight, or any place with dead troops that will let Mille's summon go off. ...Hmm. I was planning on writing up the Vizuel next in my servant guides. Might have the time later today. Oh yeah, PandaKing, I was looking at your GG playlist and I have to ask again if you could add the combo inputs to your Valentine/Paradigm/Raven combo vids. I can't figure out how to do them just from watching.

Oh yeah, PandaKing, I was looking at your GG playlist and I have to ask again if you could add the combo inputs to your Valentine/Paradigm/Raven combo vids. I can't figure out how to do them just from watching. 2 things. first, I've seen Avatar thine (a really good raven player) bring out the magic type elite first, so which elite you bring out out first is not set in stone. ALL of Valentine's Elites are useful to an extent, knowing your opponent and his servants will help in you choice as well in which to bring out. the problem with bringing out many ranged units in the beginning is that they are easy targets for masters. masters tear into range normal servants like hungry kid eating chocolate bar, they die extra fast. second. I ALREADY POSTED INPUTS ON PANDA'S PARADIGM AND VALENTINE COMBO VIDEOS. Valentine's inputs was right after my Paradigm guide, before you posted your servant guide. Paradigm combo video inputs is right after my Ky guide. ....do people even read what I post down? I mean, wow. if you want, I can put down the inputs for Raven's combo video by panda. in all honesty, as long as you have some knowledge of the character, the inputs in combo videos and such should not be a problem. if I can put down inputs for combos in this game just by looking at them, anyone can.
Blackgenma Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 So heres some filler to hold you over till the Valentine guide, and while I REALLY want to type it up right now (what? I want to type two guides in a row in two consecutive days? well aren't I productive?) the only reason I want to type it up is to procrastinate studying for school, So I'll shut up and post this video and type the combo inputs for it. Valentine combo video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KB9ngzYid0w&feature=PlayList&p=4465865F0DCEC112 combo inputs are listed in the order they are shown. Dr. Paradigm combos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5qTYMPNRz8&feature=PlayList&p=4465865F0DCEC112 the input of the combos are as follows. (F) 8x, (L) (forward step) (G.O.o.H.) H.) they are written down by the order they appeared in the video. Video by Pandaking. SEE!? there they are! PLEASE READ THE CRAP THAT I POST DOWN. I try hard to make sure what I post is accurate and helpful. I made the valentine inputs because I saw your message in youtube regarding the lack of inputs neovid, so it was a big surprise that you overlooked it. and thanks for editing your guide, much better now.
Blackgenma Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Zazz's guide to beating survival mode #1 & #2: Because you want those achievements right? Step #1: Play on Easy. Difficulty doesn't matter for getting credit. Step #2: Find a spammable projectile. Most everyone has one. For Sol, expect to gunflame ALOT. For Ky, Stun Edge. etc. etc. Play it safe and don't wade in like a hero. You'll die fast that way. Step #3: Plow your way through most of the enemy grunts until you get to . . . Step #4: CONVICT HAMMERS. ALOT OF THEM. Here's where the real strats come in. They are usually joined by Heaven's Libras so watch out for their range. Basically you wait for them to come at you at the starting gate area while shaving down their health until you feel unsafe, then RUN across the field to the empty area with the nice view of the fortress in the distance. Now repeat. And repeat. This will take a WHILE. Step #5: The switch up. The enemy spawn pattern changes eventually and you'll notice real fast. In Survival #1, it drops 3 Bonebiters on you. Just stay with the pattern and use those battery rods in the chests you find. In survival #2, its a bunch of Valentine's troops until a few sets of Elites show up. Just go for the repeating and be careful because you WILL get cursed and be unable to attack. Just RUN then. Eventually you'll get . . . Step #6: THE FINAL HORDE. About when you get about down to 50 kills needed left (you need 190 for Survival #1 and 500 for Survival #2) the game will drop on you ALOT of low level grunts on you at once. #1 also tosses a bonebiter in there, but with usage of battery rods and bombs, you'll be fine. Once you finish off the final horde, the mission should be complete. Note: Keep an eye out for enemies with unusual sizes (Big Bower Jrs, Small Swordsmen and Tiny Wise Men mostly). They'll drop chests when you kill them. ENJOY! Looky what I dug up! found this baby on page 84. man, where did all the cool people go when this game came out!? their conversations are fun to read! going into the earlier pages of this topic remind me that this game is SO old news. Edit: Neovid, Panda ain't gonna put no combo inputs in no combo videos. holding your breath is not recommended. I'll put the raven combo video inputs tomorrow. triple post for the win! it's like sending messages of dialog to yourself!
Jam-Kiske Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I'll talk with you when I get this. :D I was like 5 bucks short of getting it when I went to get BB. ;.; I should probably wait till I get a 360 though cuz mooching someone else's with one game is bad enough...
NeoVid Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I do know the combo inputs, thanks to this thread. A lot more people are going to look for that sort of thing on YouTube, since not nearly enough players know that this thread is maybe the best source of info for this game. ...And I found out a few days ago that the spammable projectile method in Survival doesn't work for everyone. Ky was the first guy I tried to beat all the free missions with, and I took JJJ's advice on projectile spamming my way through... and then I found out that Stun Edge only hits one enemy, so it gives you back less tension than you spent on it, and it's too dangerous to go into melee with a lot of the waves of enemies in Survival. I tried again, and smashed everything in Survival with Sin, since all of his specials are great for killing big crowds. Dammit. I want to get the achievements for Paradigm and Ky, but I've repeatedly seen that I'd have an easier time with any of the other characters. If only you got one or two of your skills in Survival... Charge Stun Edge would probably win the mode by itself.
PandaKingEX Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 For Ky, Holy brand is your crowd control in survival. Make sure you use the left trigger when using it, though, so you can be more accurate with lining up your hit, and since it's the only way to make him move forward with the move.
Aedesyr Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Stun edge is kinda useful on survival 2, where enemies have a lot less health, and one projectile can do a lot of damage(and it can wipe out those damn gun triggers. Gawd i hate them).
Zazz Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 hey guys, to get the full course achievement, do you need to beat all the free missions on a certain difficulty? i got all the character specific "beat all missions with this character" but it was done over easy and normal (still gotta beat big battle & the gate missions on normal though)
Blackgenma Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 hey guys, to get the full course achievement, do you need to beat all the free missions on a certain difficulty? i got all the character specific "beat all missions with this character" but it was done over easy and normal (still gotta beat big battle & the gate missions on normal though) you can get all the all achievements on easy regarding free mission. I'm sure of it. Raven combo video inputs! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf-7Xys24CQ&feature=PlayList&p=4465865F0DCEC112&index=31 (L) 8x, x, x, MC 6x, 8y. (L) j, air dash, 8x, MC, x, x, 4x, MC, 8x. (L) 2x, Overdrive. his more damaging combos eat up his tension like crazy. Video by PandaKingEX. Izuna guide coming after the weekend, I have to play him. can any of you guys refer me to some good Izuna game play videos? boundary has a good Izuna, but I want to study the guy from other people too. Hopefully, if I remain focused enough, I can do that Sin master's ability revision after the weekend too.
Zazz Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 you can get all the all achievements on easy regarding free mission. I'm sure of it. well then mine must be bugged because i have all free missions done with all characters on easy i am sad
Blackgenma Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 odd, that shouldn't be happening. than try it on normal. what achievements are you missing for free mission?
Zazz Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 i got: Dex Guy Not Bad as a Fighter Sol-ism Ky's Applaud Picky One Dr. Paradigm's Compliments Valentine may praise you...? Romping Izuna Master of Adjectives Raven's Pleasure i think Full Course should be done, right?
Aedesyr Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 that's strange, cause you already got the Picky one achievement. I guess it IS really bugged. Try to finish them all on normal then. Btw, i need a volunteer to help me getting the online achievements. The ranked matches ones are impossible to get without someone helping me, 'cuz the server is empty.
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 i got: Dex Guy Not Bad as a Fighter Sol-ism Ky's Applaud Picky One Dr. Paradigm's Compliments Valentine may praise you...? Romping Izuna Master of Adjectives Raven's Pleasure i think Full Course should be done, right? Try doing one on medium, it's the only solution I can think of besides going though all of them again. If you do one on medium with one character, then it might recognize that you already did them all? that's strange, cause you already got the Picky one achievement. I guess it IS really bugged. Try to finish them all on normal then. Btw, i need a volunteer to help me getting the online achievements. Zazz Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 i hope you don't mind if i add you, ayumu, to my GT list in slightly unrelated news: http://kotaku.com/5372358/how-to-rock-in-brutal-legend-multiplayer doesn't the multiplayer in this look a little familiar? what is it about RTS that lends itself so well to METAL?
Aedesyr Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 This really DOES looks familiar. Just call the masterghost Stage, the ghosts Fan geysers and the tricks's done. I'm buying it anyways. The demo lacked in gameplay but the cutscenes and the artistic design were awsome. And it was so fucking metal. Back on topic: i found a bug on waterdrop mission on hard(on campaign mode). I lose the mission after some minutes without a reason. I completed it anyways(take 6 servant-go to the masterghost-win)but i'm curios if someone else got this problem. Oh, and my version of the game is the EU one.
Blackgenma Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 yeah, some one already brought our attention to that title on the gamefaq boards. I wasn't very impressed. though the two games do share similarities. nope, never got that problem before concerning waterdrop mission.
Aedesyr Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 then i guess it's only on the EU version, or, if i'm really unlucky, only on mine. The game freezing on 1vs1 matches is a common problem or it's just me(it happenes 3 times against japanese guys). Btw brutal legend is single player mode focused, so the multiplayer is just secondary, even if it doesn't look so bad. I can't wait to get it also cuz the creator of the game is tim schafer. i loved every single game he did since monkey island.
