Ayumu Gardevoir Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Ayumu, you're always on Blazblue or The Orange Box anyway. >_> So? GG2 > TF2 and BB. Send an invite and I'll drop anything I'm currently doing. The only reason I play them is because no one's ever on GG2 when I am, so I need to do something while I wait.
Blackgenma Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Panda's sol is EZ to play against. Ayumu, you're always on Blazblue or The Orange Box anyway. >_> :8/: I hope your joking. wait, yeah, if you lose to me, your joking... panda himself said Sol is the character he knows the best. EDIT: Ayumu, if thats the case, I'll be sure to send you an invite when I see you playing something, last time I left you alone to play Tales of Vesperia.
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Yeah, TF2 and ToV are my big ones right now, but I'm always up for a match of GG2 <3
Sol.Badguy Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Ok so now that panda will be getting back on soon I'll need to start playing again. Ever since something happened to Kickingark's live membership I've been staying on blazblue(which I'll have to finally play against ayumu since HE didn't have gold at the time =D). So next time I get on live, i'll be searching for GG2 matches, so if anyone wants and ez victory until I get my sol back, make sure to invite me ^^.

Sol.Badguy Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 she? ayumu is a guy. Learn something new everyday
Jam-Kiske Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 It's best to assume people are guys around here. We few girls won't really be offended if you assume we're guys cuz it's pretty normal.
Xithmos Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 :8/: I hope your joking. wait, yeah, if you lose to me, your joking... panda himself said Sol is the character he knows the best. EDIT: Ayumu, if thats the case, I'll be sure to send you an invite when I see you playing something, last time I left you alone to play Tales of Vesperia. I wasn't joking at all. I posted this on the Gamefaqs website, so I guess I'll post it here. Since Panda got his Xbox 360 back, and hopefully his Guilty Gear 2, we should all get on the Saturday of Thanksgiving and have a night of shenanigans. I plan to record all matches and put them on youtube. You can guess from the title that I plan to record all of the bs moments we have on that game (we being Panda, AJ, and Kirby). Others are welcome to join. I'd host this on the Friday, but that's reserved for Blazblue's Night of Shenanigans.
PandaKingEX Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 OMFG I just found out I'm not going to be able to work this weekend, so now I have to wait even longer before I have the money for GG2. I'm going to go crazy being stuck with only Blazblue for all this time.
Blackgenma Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 now you see what happens when you sell a game you love. it bites you in the ass later. watching matches on nico video tends to help sooth my craving for GG2, since I can only play on the weekends. have fun with blazblue. EDIT: I update my GG2 video thread rather frequently. give it a look if you haven't recently, and you don't feel like trudging through the web site itself. I don't just post any video I see, I only post the video I find interesting for whatever reason.
Aedesyr Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Oh, i LOVE dharma summons with izuna. Their debuff can't be canceled with a dispel. So annoying(for the oppinent). Btw, there's a way to save a replay from training mode? (oh, and i hate sol on 1vs1.)
Blackgenma Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 no, you cant save a replay from training mode. I really need more practice in 1 on 1 servant battles. I constantly lose in them.
danceljoy Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Hmmm this is a bit out of topic, but can anybody post a guide/ description(with screenshots if possible) of the maps? I'm really curious about them because of how they show the GG world.
Aedesyr Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 no, you cant save a replay from training mode. I really need more practice in 1 on 1 servant battles. I constantly lose in them. That's cuz you rely too much on sol alone and not enough on troops support. summons are a good way to overcome that. Carrying always a bodyguard(thing that i always forget to do)helps a LOT too. Hmmm this is a bit out of topic, but can anybody post a guide/ description(with screenshots if possible) of the maps? I'm really curious about them because of how they show the GG world. I can do it, excluding 4vs4 maps and the holy knight fortress. Damn EU version without dlc >_>
danceljoy Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 XDD Nice! It's impossible for me to have a 360 so guides/videos are goodies XD
Blackgenma Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 That's cuz you rely too much on sol alone and not enough on troops support. summons are a good way to overcome that. Carrying always a bodyguard(thing that i always forget to do)helps a LOT too. I can do it, excluding 4vs4 maps and the holy knight fortress. Damn EU version without dlc >_> I feel you are partially correct. I lose to you because you hang out with your army, and the lag prevents me from bailing out of your combos with volcanic viper. if you thought volcanic viper was bad enough, without the lag you you'd get hit with it so much more often. but your right, carrying hunchback, and continueing my agressive push (by using a healing potion instead of retreating to my master ghost, losing momentum) and in general not jumping onto an army by myself is a good Idea. but even so, I still lose to other players like Sin. dealing with sol shit units takes much skill. I wish I could play this game more often to practice. does anyone know if you can volcanic viper Izuna mid way of him doing (L) x, 2x, x? Sol always bugs out when I try to VV aedeseyr when he preforms that move. @danceljoy: the maps are beautiful, theres so much detail in each one, it's a shame you never notice the detail mid-game, because your so involved on the match. I went "sight seeing" in the map underworld hill earlier (2 vs 2 version), and discovered hidden things like a hot spring int the bamboo field, the little dock with the cerimonial archway, the buhdda-head statues in the center of the map, the giant tower in the center with sakura petals comming out on the top. the "sandpit" like court yard you often see in old aristocratic japanese castles and such. I was really surprised to put so much effort in the maps, most of it going unoticed by the majority of the players. as far as gamply goes though, the scenrey is nice, but looking at it isn't going to help you win matches. :p EDIT: holy knights fortress looks sexy. it's a shame you can't see it aedeyser. strangley enough, you don't fight on the fotress, but in an area right outside the fortress. heres a video show casing it, though you don't see much of it , espeacially since it has the rain weather effect on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bAPOxvHnBs&feature=PlayList&p=4465865F0DCEC112&index=4
Aedesyr Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Sin is awufully strong. he is kinda slow, but his special moves hurt really bad and they have an awsome range. he's probably the easier to use, and the stronger(after sol). as for the volcanic during izuna's combo, yes you can but with the lag you get hit too. I'm not completely sure about that , next time let's spare togheter to test it.
Blackgenma Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 oh, whenever you do a volcanic viper in the middle of someone's combo your blocking, the chances of you getting hit are pretty high. sol has super armor on when he does VV, so if he gets hit, he will take damage, but he wont stop his VV unless the damage kills him. there are move that break super armor, but the way sol does VV make it hard to break. Sol's (L) 2x uppercut has armor break properties, and so does his power attack. so yeah, I found this new spot for masters only, so now there are 3 stages for masters only, instead of two. underworld hill 1, in the top right corner next to the master ghost. it's a great place because capture units don't interfere. I tested it out with aedesyr, it's a solid masters only spot. it also works for 2 on 2, but I'm not sure about points yet. I want a master only spot for holy knights fortress! BUT THERE IS NONE!
Aedesyr Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 the masters only spot on underworld hill it's not bad, just a lil too small if compared to others. Btw, i want the dlc, so i tought: if i buy them with a fake american account, i can use the dlc on my eu profile as well? i tried with the player image, it went from the eu to the us account, as any other thing i had on my eu profile(demos, videos), but i need to be sure at 100% before buying the micosoft points.
Blackgenma Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 if you can get the downloadable content, then that sounds like a worthwhile investment. as far as the underworld hill section for masters only...yeah, it's a little cramped compared to others, but it still provides tons of room for movment. I myself didn't have a problem with it's size, and had no issue beating the crap out of you there. I hope other players will be open to using that spot. the most cramped masters only location would be the tunnel in the center of bel canto valley, on the first floor. though people uasually don't play in there, I started suggesting if one feel off the upper floor by accident, the other player should drop down and both fight in it. it's small, but no capture units go thorugh there, and it makes fight feel SO much more dramatic. and just like the underworld hill, it's helps switch things up, and breathes new life in masters only. Edit: oh, and why can't you do guides for 4 vs 4 maps (as in points matches)? just go to exhibition, put the computers on level 1, death cost at 0, mana and leverage really low for them, high for you, and make the time limit as long as possible. you can take your time and look around all you want in points matches. EDIT(2): oh yeah, don't forget to friend FlameMasterAJ in my friend list. he only really plays master only, but he's extreamely good at it. His Sol is the best I've ever seen, hands down. you'll learn somethings by fighting him.
Blackgenma Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 DOUBLE POST I was testing out the Gigant in exhibition mode against some computers (I know, I should leave that stupid unit alone) I wanted to test the effectiveness of it's range upgrade, to see if you got the upgrade on it at the enemy master ghost, if it would really win the match for you. I stated before in my guide that you should never bother with the upgrade because Gigant's aim is far too unreliable to depend upon. I just wanted to test the validity of that statement. and unfortunately, I had no Idea just how correct I was. the stupid thing gets distracted by the most trivial units, and it does not prioritize it's targets. in other words, if it's next to a masterghost and a melee unit, and it's facing the melee unit, it's going to waste the cannon on the fucking melee unit. I had the stupid thing at the enemy master ghost, there were a few units defending it. while my drills were going after the masterghost, or the enemies right next to it, the Gigant wasn't even facing it. a lone melee unit was distracting it, facing away from the master ghost. and as you can guess, I couldn't tell the bastard to face the masterghst and destroy it. when I gave it the upgrade, it shot it at the melee unit! I gave it the upgrade again soon after, and it STILL missed the masterghost! 160 mana, down the drain. what a horrendously stupid unit. here's my analysis of the Gigant. it excels as a defensive unit, thanks to it's massive amount of health, super armor, and fear missiles, which target up to six enemies at once. and on the offensive, it if grouped with a large army, it has a psychological effect of freaking out your opponent somewhat due to it's massive size (and I know this because I was subject to it) when the enemy master sees the Gigant, even if they know it isn't a very good unit, they pretty much acknowledge the fact that they cannot ignore it. I have never seen a player blatantly ignore a Gigant, they either avoid it or take it down. as for upgrades, mobile is for moving the unit. armor upgrade is when the Gigant is on the offensive (it's does fantastic damage, and is the most powerful upgrade you can put on the unit.) when it's on the defensive, the melee upgrade is probably a good choice, considering that it will stay put and attack all that surround it. I can't recommend you ever use the ranged upgrade, simply too unreliable, and only last for one shot. more testing on the unit planned for the future.
Aedesyr Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 and i'm starting love paradigm. I really should train with him. the fact that he has mobiles from the start is a HUGE advantage. with stratagem, it's istant counter against armors. i tried the daiborochi(or whatever it's called izuna's armor); it awsome to ghost control and expecially to destroy enemy master ghost(his ability to create multiple summons is great), but it costs way too much. 650 are REALLY too much(plus the unlocking mana cost. ugh.)the kirin and the other are a lot better, as i always tought. as for ky, i reconsidered his mages. Adding an attack boost AND dealing some moderate damage can be kinda cool; too bad they are EXTREMELY fragile. Mage boost+ ky's defence boost skill(i always forget how it's called) can really, really improve the perfomances of his army. Oh, and as for the dlc, i don't really know how to get them. To convalidate my credit card on xbla, i must type my address. the problem is, in the "country" voice i can choose only from american coubtries, and that invalidate my credit card. Ugh. the only other way i can think of is to buy a 2000 mcp code card, but i need only 1k. I hate eu when it comes to videogames.
Blackgenma Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 you will have fun with paradigm until you fight someone on the map. then the fun ends there. Even really good paradigm players get rocked at master fights. BUT I WILL LOVE HIM ALWAYS. Izuna's giant armor unit is more reliable than the fucking Gigant. less flexible, sure, but more reliable, and hell, depending on how you use it, cheaper. I need someone to make character vs character guides. I wrote enough guides already, I just want to focus on getting better. I forgot to put this in my Izuna guide, I will put this in there: (L) forward step, 4x will break an opponents guard if they just stand there. Xithmos said he would make an Izuna tutorial video focusing on masters only, but because Xithmos is a lazy bum, we should disregard what he says he will do. he's about a week late or so with that project. EDIT: I just noticed my two GG2 threads in the guilty room have gone missing. I can only replace the basics guides thread, I never made a backup of the video thread. if it can't be replaced, I'm going to be very sad.
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Xithmos is a lazy bum, we should disregard what he says he will do. .... D:
Blackgenma Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 .... D: that was said primarily to put him on the spot. I can't stand it when someone says they will do something and they break their word. pisses me off to no extent and pretty much invalidates whatever they say they will do in the future. if your not going to do something, don't say you will. honestly though, I'm more concerned about my video thread. it would be one hell of a waste to simply let it vanish. I can only restore a fraction of what was there, but if it isn't brought back, I will slowly but surely get working on putting it up back to speed. I myself used it a lot, which is ironic because I'm the one who organized it. EDIT: I decided since I type walls of text, I should title the majority of my post. should help those sick of reading the crap that I write.
