Thanks for the info, guys! I'll keep watching Hima and look up the other Valks too.

I'm still trying to come to grips with how fast Valk can be sometimes. It's hard to track him on-screen and reacting appropriately. :v:

Shuu shows up in these vids:

He generally only shows up in Acho videos with a blue/best color (sometimes the yellow one).

I enjoy watching the decisions he makes. For instance, he tends to confirm into the IAD wolf loop a lot for wall carry (and to conserve the wolf gauge), and likes ending combos with wolf IAD j.B 3c j.A j.236D (purple grab, where if they tech, he just does j.C immediately after to stuff any post air throw tech shenanigans).

All I can say is good stuff, Leo! I think Shuu's got a nice wild factor and his movement's pretty good (from what I can tell... I'm not that good yet. :sweat:).

By the way, how do you do that full-screen jump? From wolf I just do 9c -> j.D, but from vids it seems they're using a faster version or something. 9c takes some time to activate and I don't notice it in vids.

They are basically air dashing in wolf form then converting back to human form really fast. Here's an example of the commands for using this to forward dash from standing human form on the left side of the screen:

:uf::dbt::f::dbt:

The timing can be hard at first, however once you get used to it this type of movement greatly helps Valk get around the screen.

it's only customary if you take a rachel along with you.

Wait... it's possible for a Valk to go somewhere while not chauffeuring a Rachel?

lf he would rather stick his head in a jar of seaweed and milk when he returns, then he is more than welcome to do whatever he pleases.

oddly enough that actually sounds like something rachel would tell valk lol.

Hey guys, I want to learn Valkenhayn, where do I start? :v:

Spend some time getting used to his movement in both human and in wolf. Other than that all I can think of is just the general "Get used to their normals/specials. Learn some combos."

Your in my Friends List fool, I'll show you the ins and outs later if you want :)

I'll be going but who knows how sharp I'll be playing since I'll be driving the whole fucking way:v:

Haha wow, and I thought my 4 hour drive from SoCal was bad enough. Still, I look forward to some games. The only other Valk I've heard of that is coming is TheBiter, and he's in my pool. :v:

I would be sympathetic to the fact that I have Dacidbro and Lord Knight in my pool, But I know that Pool 11 Has Zong_1, JWong and the legendary Spark:v: I truly wish you the best of luck good sir, You've got one hell of a pool to fight through.

evo is going to be hype. is every match getting streamed/uploaded? or just the good ones/top 8, or is it just unknown right now. there are plenty of guys in the pools that l want to see win.

how's relius? from the looks of things he's very similar to carl, so one can only wonder how different he will be from his son.

l hope he's a zoner :3

If I had to guess, he looks likes hes gonna be the type that its either him or the doll moving one at a time unlike the simultaneous workings for Carl. In the screenshot they showed, hes posing while Ignus is attacking. I think the concept of tag team combos is actually really cool, but then you go overboard and you get Carl who just gets unblockables all the time:v: Ignus looks like a much more aggressive attacker compared to Nirvana whereas Relius looks like a much slower moving version of Carl. I'd imagine Relius has a Hop much like Valk and Hakumen and probably has limited options on his own. I'm definitely interested in how ASW keeps Relius from being a clone of Carl. They've done very good work in the past (Sol vs HOS and Ky vs Robo-Ky) so they must have had a lot of thought put into how he would operate mechanically to keep him in a different play style from Carl.

In the screenshot for Relius (the only one where you can see crap) it looks like there's an Ignus meter. They can't make him too similar to Carl without it looking like a cop out, so his drive could possibly be that you switch from controlling Relius to controlling Ignus, and are put on a timer for how long you can use Ignus similar to Valk's wolf gauge.

That's one of the things I love about ASW. You can trust them to make every character unique in some way.

On another note: Does anyone know if there were any good Valks at EVO? I didn't get to watch the stream ;___;

The Biter was the only good Valkenhayn on stream. Fought Zong-One though, lost. He sent Spark to loser bracket though, which was cool.

Orion played Tager on stream and lost as well QQ

Ah so he was on stream! Damn me....

My colleague, Zeero from Canada was also on stream :P (only Valk to make it out of pools as far as I know). Lost to Zong on stream 2-1.

Edit: There were actually a lot of Valk players at evo. I ended up meeting and fighting against BerserkJustice in my pool (pool 11 whee), and I also met Orion and TheBiter, nice meeting everyone there.

I didn't see this edit earlier. Nice to meet and fight against you, though I wish I would have done a little better ("I can't block my own character's mixup" :gonk:). Also, nice set against Spark in pools. Though you lost it was still really interesting to watch.

@Orion: Nice job in your matches, I had to run over and watch every time I heard you were playing casuals with Valk. Wish I would have stepped up and got some casuals against you myself, I'll be at the next NCI though so hopefully I'll catch you there.

It was good to see TheBiter get as far as he did in pools, though I was pulling my hair out at the Astral he attemped against Spark.
