They're tier whoring what do you expect even though i find it funny that theyre switching despite the fact that the characters they use arent bad in extend youre seeing that here too with players like 2GB and most likely the tier whore champ OmniChoke himself although i doubt theyll stick with Valk because well...they suck lol oh and this reminds me of the spoiled Jin players that are switching to ragna also dont see the fun in tier whoring As far as Valk goes im still curious on how the gauge depletion works while you zoom when pushing to corners

CakeWasBannedd Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 people really don't seem to realize that bb is competitive which is a little odd when you think about it. maybe it's just a north american thing where they don't think you can take a video game as seriously as most sports, when they're pretty much the same thing. if you were playing any competitive sport, you would do absolutely anything within the rules given to succeed and win as much as possible. this is why it's so odd to me when people complain about tier-whoring, or people just running away from tager the whole match. the point of the game isn't to put on a show, it's to win. bottom line.

Just to clarify my stance, I have no issues with people talking about why certain players are switching to Valk, but just going on about the concept of Tier Whoring and whos right about what on a vastly subjective topic is futile. So if you can keep the topic on primarily what the switch to Valk was for(i.e: Playstyle between Hakumen and Valk is very different. And being a solid player on defence can in turn make using an utterly offensive character like Valk very, very scary) then feel free to converse on it. I could care less about tier whoring its been around since forever its not new but the point is this character. Valkenhayn should have received a lot of nerfs instead he received no changes and seems to be a bit stronger because of everyones nerfs. I have used this guy since CS1 and i can say that I can agree with Japanese players they have a point to be mad. His guard point got better his diagonal wolf torpedo is just as bad, he has no match up problems, his pressure is just as hard to block against I should be excited that hes good but damn haha this is too much. Whoever is going to play extend I just want to know if his ability to push to corner while exhausting the wolf meter is still the same or you have to do something more

I've seen a new confirm in the past few weeks that gets you a bit more out of the 5C>236A>RC confirms midscreen. Uses a bit more Wolf meter but if I remember right you can get the j.C>5B>5C relaunch relatively easily so it evens out in the end. I'll put the combo as I remember it but it might be a bit off. I'll edit it if I confirm it is wrong. 5B>5C>236A>RC>2C>6B(1)>5C>TK j.214B>5D>[W]j.236A>Land 236A>236B>j.236B>7C~D>[H]j.C>Land 5B>5C>j.B>dj.B>jC The combo in total does a about 4.1K and in total you get about 40 heat back. The standard midscreen confirms only use 2 Beast Cannons which are both subject to the Heat Gain reduction from the RC whereas the newer one uses the TK Mondlitch to kill some time on the Heat Gain cooldown so that 2 Beast Cannons are at reduced Heat Gain but the last 2 give full Heat Gain meaning you get the 5-6 Heat from each one. If this combo works by theory and memory, its a much better confirm than doing either 3C>236A>RC>236C or 236A>2C>6B>5C>236C and the extra Wolf meter spent is negligible.

On everyone else, you can add the 6B(2) for more damage. this also means the combo won't work on the above listed characters if you catch them crouching. if they're already crouching though, might as well just confirm into Rosen and save meter.

I can do all the CS 1 stuff more or less but I'm having some trouble with the (w)5B > j.A > j.B > 3C > j.A > (h)2C > 6C pick up in the corner. I keep dropping it at the (h)2C part there- is there a special timing or something I have wrong with the notation for wolf 3C or something?

Even if he can't the positioning he gets after is good, and it's still a good normal to stick out... it's just not as braindead. Which of course, is always good. Also yeah anyone looking at the screen could tell JC was always meant to have that hitbox, thank god they finally gave it to him. Though they gave him too much othershit I feel and it's getting kinda stupid, that was a buff that was seriously long overdue. Back on Valk: OMFG THAT CSEX COMBO IS HYPE AGKASERKAEM
