GGXX:AC Baiken Combo Video "Legend of Kyoto"

Hello everybody.

I am proud to present to you my very own accent core Baiken combo video “Legend of Kyoto”. I tried to mix both fancy & stylish combos and mixups together with useful and efficient combos. Of course, some silly stuff made the cut as well. I made everything by myself without too much experience with After Effects and whatnot, but I think it turned out pretty okay. I also chose music that I personally like, and while I’m not expecting everybody to like the same music as I do, I hope everybody still can enjoy the combos even though Baiken isn’t that much of a fancy combo-character.

I guess you sometimes have to pause to read the shout-outs during the credits but there’s nothing I can do about that ^^So without further ado, feel free to watch it on the platform of you’re own choice:

Damn, I've still got a lot to learn to catch up to you. I was especially impressed with your use of Youzansen frcs to extend your air combos, or avoid attacks. ( My favorite was the baiken mirror part around 2:08, where you jumped in with j.h then youzansen frc to bait Youshijin and land j.k into dustloop)

I love this vid so much. And I'm pretty sure you know that, Shinjin. It contains a lot of subtle brilliance that really requires some knowledge of the game to appreciate.

I was curious after that slashback vs Testament near the beginning why Baiken's throw didn't slide the opponent, but was the old throw....I've never seen that before.

It's a glitch. She does the old throw whenever there is a net over her as she does the throw. There were two nets in the video. The first one was slashbacked and the second went off as she was throwing testament causing the glitch. I have local friend that plays Baiken and it happens to us all the time.

I guess it's kind of a glitch, but it's not random. It happens because Baikens throw only has 1 active frame on the hit, and testaments net cancels 1f of attacks (that's why two nets nullify the use of sakura etc). So the hit that causes the slide never actually hits, thus there is no proration from the attack of the throw which allows the juicy damage output from it.

The slashback of the first net is more to show that inputting the sb-input kind of makes your hitbox bigger so getting the sb is free when the net is so close to you that if you poke or move it gets active, which kind of often happens. It's character dependant though, but it works great for Baiken. It's not that useful though. ^^

took me a mighty long time to finally watch this, and i gotta say it's skitbra! and this is coming from someone who thought baiken combos in AC were boring, i guess you converted me ^^

especially liked the left-right-left stuff against i-no, and the many crazy youzansen frcs at the oddest places, hah.

also, that one counter combo with HS left-right-left juggle totally reminded me of what i did in my basarax combovid with kenshin, his C even looks totally like baikens HS, hah ^^
