i'm going to write an article on how superior i feel throws are in bb than gg.

i'll probably get banned from dustloop afterwords though..

and with a reason for posting misleading information, lol

Of course you like BB grabs more, GG grabs are fucking dumb.

you have lost so many points in my book for posting that

Gotta run gimmicks to land throws in BB. lol @ throws in BB.

at least they arent crap like sf4

But unlike most other games, there is no perfect option select to cover them and other options, due to throw reject miss. Also, the grab range is huge in this game.

Does that necessarily make them too strong, though? Or just not braindead to break. I mean, just because there isn't an cover-all-bases option to get out of it doesn't mean it's too strong, right?

Well, it makes it a larger part of mix up, for the most part, because it's something you have to actually think about instead of just option select. Then add in the range and possibility of counter hit, and they are up another notch. Then add in often doing nearly half a health bar, and they are a very strong option.

I guess I just see it as an acceptable tradeoff for the conditioning and such you have to use to land one, like the payoff for an overhead, except it can still get broken.

However, in the context of CS2's changes where most combos do around 2-3k midscreen (so far) it's acceptable to have them do less damage. I just don't want it to be so low that it makes them not worth doing, when you could always go for guaranteed damage off a hit instead.

Unlike overheads, grabs are 6-7 frames. The risk for throwing them is next to none, the pay off incredibly high, and the mental strain it puts on your opponent to have to vigilantly look for them amongst the rest of your mix up is very high.

BB grabs aren't really comparable to GG grabs, so that might be why certain people think they are totally useless.

zzz...

i love throw reject miss, it forces people to NOT mash grab out of tick throw setups.

Real talk CS2 grab hype, I don't mind if the damage is nerfed for grabs since the range and speed at which you can grab is pretty understandable. If you can grab easier, you should get a reduced reward for doing it, if they made grabbing harder give it a larger reward.
