Firekid2 Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Anyone got any experience in this match-up yet? From what little against him I played a lot of his moves seem to stuff Noel's drives, and I have a particularly hard time anti-airing with 4D or 5D. 6A might be better for getting though his j. C. I found that I had the most success playing this match a little more offensively, but than was an online fight and my Noel sucks so... Also, does anyone know how Valkfunka works? I thought it had invincible start-up but I think I stuffed it with a 3C. EDIT: Also, Mods: Please delete if its too soon for a match-up thread for Valk.
Konton Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Yeah this is going to be a horrible match-up. He's got really good range on that roundhouse kick and it stuffs drives completely. On the plus side, his blockstrings are really slow and easy to IB.
dragontamer Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Instant-blocking Valk's pressure is absolutely necessary in this matchup.
bmore303 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 IB 4D ftw. At least that's my current strat so far. And watch that 2C of his >_>
bluecarrot Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Yea and when he dashes as a wolf blocking is the best choice. Most of his wolf moves are faster and have more range than noels pokes and drive invinciblity fails as well. So yea wait or eat a wolf combo
madaxe_munkee Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Valkenhayn has been spelt incorrectly. Please change the name of this thread before everyone starts commenting on it and this finds a way to stick ><.
SkyKing Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Since Valk's normals eat at Noel for free in this match-up, what should we look for when approaching or trying to counterattack his pressure? I know for sure you can't aimlessly jump at him for fear of eating an anti-air 2C into big damage.
Ichipoo Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 From personal experience, the only I can win against Valk is if I try NOT to get hit or get caught in pressure and hope he whiffs a move that will move him close enough to me for him to get crossed up by 2D. Oh wait that's my general strategy for playing as CS1 Noel.
