RadRed Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 (edited) To be fair, any Platinum player worth their salt is going to be using Dream Sally a lot because it's a really good special attack for oki. Not necessarily on par with a character like Litchi, but it's good enough that you shouldn't ignore it really ever. But yeah, she's really versatile which makes her incredibly interesting. My personal favorite of her drive moves is the Cat staff simply due to it's speed, range, and hilarity. One thing Cirno and I noticed when watching and discussing the Platinum matches available to us that no one seems to be using Dramatic Sammy (her command grab) or Miracle Jeanne (install super) for that matter. With her mix-up game seemingly decent already, I wonder why there aren't any command grabs being thrown in every now and then. As a potential Platinum user, I certainly would. Although, I did see a platinum player doing a command grab to someone. But Just wait for more vids to come and whatever the things that you want to see, will happen. Allow me to direct your attention to the Platinum data page. There, most of your Platinum questions will be answered. For this particular question, Platinum is going to be released in Spring 2011 for consoles. We don't have a release date for BBCS2 for consoles yet, but it will likely be around the same time.

Another thing, when Mami Circular hit and was rapided, Platinum fell on the other side of the opponent, which is most likely able to be followed up with a 5C. Props to RadRed for pointing it out to me. Also, upgraded missiles are incredible. Not to mention they hit twice, and do 1336 damage a piece.

I can't wait to see her install combos. 3 install bombs did 2k damage on jin. Lol, something tells me that she might be able to break 7k off the right hit confirm and right install item. Her bat seems to be very useful especially against rushdown characters, and in making people respect plats pressure. You could tell that the makoto player didn't know what to do. IB off anything is an instant bat to the face. It got to the point where shadow was actually the attacker and mak was just there waiting for him to switch items. Hammer as an ender deals good damage. DAT slide head from 16T was gdlk. I wonder if she can combo off it. Assuming she can: Knockdown - install with hammer - Wake up bubble (opponent is already conditioned to sitting still and blocking bubble on wakeup) - slide head - combo. Did I also mention DAT color? You aren't held down to one playstyle, and you simultaneously switch within battle. I like how she transitions from rushdown to midscreen zoning. It's very fluid and doesn't require long pauses that give your opponent time to escape. Shadow showed that when you mix things up and keep your opponent guessing on when you'll tick command throw it can be hard to get a read on what to look out for. It's pretty clearly controllable. In other news, I'm once again sad I have to wait 4 months minimum for her. 16t hammer slide head was certainly a nice surprise. That's why I believe Plat can be a very strong character. You can constantly switch between items all you want to adapt to the situation. Breaking out an upgraded item only makes it better now that we've seen just what they can do.

Arc doesn't want us to have our video game gal when it's dark and gloomy outside, but wants us to be preoccupied with her when it's the perfect time to enjoy the outside.... That just makes it meaner!
LeFartknocker Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I'm so happy that Plat has Mystic Momo, I mean, it's pretty much the equivalent to Zappa's Force Break but better... it let's her have a bit of control over her randomness and allows her to change her play style completely at will, which is pretty much the singular thing I disliked about Zappa in GG (his randomness could sometimes mess you up just as much, if not more so, than your opponent), despite him being my main.
