Chris Chaos Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Her Hammer loop works on everyone I believe. Give or take a few minor details. (only works in the corner and/or goes past 7k if you use 50% or get a CH. Start the combo with Mami Circular and RC it on hit near a corner, you'll get 7.4k off of Hammer Loop, you do it off of AA CH 2C, you'll be looking at 7.6-7.7k with Cure Dot Typhoon finisher.) I've seen this loop in the videos, is there anywhere on this thread that the inputs are posted? I wanna learn how to do this.
SoWL Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I've seen this loop in the videos, is there anywhere on this thread that the inputs are posted? I wanna learn how to do this. It's in the very first post in the combos thread. You go [starter, like 5B > 5C > 236B > 5C > 2C > 214C] > hjB > jC > djC > jD > 5C hjB > jC > djC > jD.
TD Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Meh, don't care about the release date that much, since I only have a PSP. But, at least I will be able to mash with my friends on their PS3, and you guys without PSP will get your chance to shine. I got a question: how do I deal with zoners if I don't have bombs or missiles? They pop my bubbles too easily, and there's no other proper way to get in their face. Am I supposed to simply run around and try not to get hit? throw items away until you get bomb/missiles! plat dosent need items to do damage, most of them are just to -help- her.
Urichinan Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 (edited) Just for the record you guys, the Hammer Loop DOES work mid-screen. I need to change some details in the combo thread and get some damage and Heat gain numbers done soon. A lot of stuff has been found lately so I've got a lot of work to do. Chaoschao222 Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Happy days, will have Portal 2 and AH3 to tide me until BBCS2 patch, fun times abound this end-of-spring/summer!
dummyacct7 Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 For an example of mid-screen hammer loop, you can do something simple like: 5C > 6A > 5C > Hammer Loop >5C > 632146C (5119 Damage, -12 Heat) The trick is to delay your dj.C in the loop so that you're a bit closer to your opponent when you j.D.

dummyacct7 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 (edited) "The following is unofficial, which means you can't get mad at me if it's a little off: The patch + Platinum should release simultaneously with Japan for the 360 (May 10th), but the PS3 version won't show up until later—hopefully the 3rd week of May." Why harshin' us PS3 players? Is this to make up for how Valk completely screwed up on 360, which in turn completely borked their DLC schedule for both consoles and pushed Plat back seven months? Just kidding, we already know that Aksys always tried to release everything a week early on 360, because they love Microsoft or something. Edited April 16, 2011 by dummyacct7
Starlight777 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Damn it, all I know is that they better not mess this up like they did Valkenhayn. I can wait but I dont wanna wait till June.
Cirno Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I'd really prefer not waiting, but after waiting this long, an extra week shouldn't feel that bad.
Yggjrasil Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Easy for you to say, You have BBCSII already and you can take it ANYWHERE. :<
RadRed Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 But it's not the console version and it's not online enabled outside of AdHoc Party.
SoWL Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 But it's not the console version Depends on your definition of a console.
Yggjrasil Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Handheld console is still a console and it can be taken anywhere, but that's not the point.
Cirno Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 let's be absolutely literal, that's cool. that's ~hip~ "handheld" and "console" are generally received as two different things, and yeah, that's not the point. having the handheld version helps me wait, absolutely, but when i can get the console version and play with other people in a reasonable fashion with my arcade stick (online and offline), then i'll be pretty content
SoWL Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 let's be absolutely literal, that's cool. that's ~hip~ Actually, it's more like English is not my native language, so I didn't know that handheld consoles are not called "consoles" most of the time
Yggjrasil Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Offtopic: Handheld consoles are consoles, they play games they go on the net, play music, videos and you can communicate with others...Plus they nowadays cost as much as a mainstream 6th-7th Generation console. It'd only be fitting to add them in the category. Ontopic: Does the fact that Platinum has good pokes, zoning capabilities, damn good mix-up, damage and a randomness factor make her the most balanced character on BBCSII?
Starlight777 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 For shame I had another one of those stupid dreams where the patch finally came. Sad thing is I only knew stuff like 2b>5b>5c>MC>5c>2c>Dream Sally. and then didn't know what to do afterwards.
Cirno Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Actually, it's more like English is not my native language, so I didn't know that handheld consoles are not called "consoles" most of the time fair enough. Ontopic: Does the fact that Platinum has good pokes, zoning capabilities, damn good mix-up, damage and a randomness factor make her the most balanced character on BBCSII?Given her poor defense, I'd say she's pretty balanced so far, but "the most balanced character" isn't a title I'd give out so quickly to someone so new. Also, considering how close everyone is in CS2, it's an even harder call to make.

I never refer to handhelds as consoles, because I always consider consoles as boxy hardware which connects to my tv, and handhelds as little boxy things that I hold in my hands as I play with a screen attached to it. When talking in general, I refer to both simply as systems. On-topic: I feel like someone would be more balanced than her, but I couldn't tell you who :x
Yggjrasil Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Oh yeah, forgot to ask Doc, but who did you like the best out of all the old characters when it came to their changes?
Chazmobile Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 On-topic: I feel like someone would be more balanced than her, but I couldn't tell you who :x Bang maybe? He still retains his good mix-up and speed from cs1 but they have made his risk-reward much fairer. He doesn't get much midscreen, but he still shines in the corner .
soujiro seta Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I'm terrible at reading the mook, but is it safe to say that her hammer, 16t/regular, is safe on block? I have 2 questions for you guys with the psp version How close do you have to be, to your opponent, to combo off 16t slidehead knockdown? Does slidehead work on tech rolling? or does the opponent have to be standing/crouching?
Cirno Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Oh yeah, forgot to ask Doc, but who did you like the best out of all the old characters when it came to their changes? Well I'm pretty biased, so of course I'd say Rachel. Ragna's new combos feel pretty fun, Jin's DP loop, 6A changes, 214b knockdown etc are cool as well. I don't feel like I've used any of the old characters enough to give more insight beyond that, but out of the bit I've used everyone, Rachel's changes definitely feel the best, though that might have been obvious. You can combo the quake from a pretty decent length, I'd say max distance is a little over half screen. And yes, it works on tech rolling.
