BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Go to avenge Yakuzu. Get bodied by Errol too. Crap. It was too long since I fought a Tsubaki. I got blowed up. Lost my Yellow too D:
OmnixTSC Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 What about 2B canceled into Gurren? It's just 16f blockstun into Gurren's startup? So... 16 - 14, 2 frames leftover. So 2B > Gurren is gapless? Except on IB, of course. Our only true gapless strings are 2C > Gurren and 5C > Gurren iirc. Everything else can be DP'd, some only with an IB.
Kriegdrache Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 It was too long since I fought a Tsubaki. I got blowed up. Lost my Yellow too D: It's ok, all you have to do is not get hit by her DP or 2C and then call her hat stupid. 10-0 matchup, (Her mugen combos are really really cool though!)
BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Since our combo routes didn't really change all that much, there's no need for a new combo thread right?
mAc Chaos Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Nah not really. You will just want to do more grounded combos. Although you could just watch the match videos to see if they're doing anything new.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 They really aren't. Just staying grounded more to gain more meter before hitting the air.
mAc Chaos Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Well there was a variant of the juggle that ended in 6A > 6B or something instead of a last juggle.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Yea, that seems to have fallen out. I guess its something to test.
Kriegdrache Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I've been slowly ending loops with JC rather than J2C > Agito to getmyself out of the habit. I think the combo thread can go under a slight reconstruction as new stuff gets discovered. Maybe some fatal JD > Agito combos, but I guess they'd just be regular loops or OD shenanigans.
Schneider-X Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Some of the OD combos will need to be revised due to the meter gain nerf in the air for Hakumen. Also we'll need new stuff for air throw combos.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I can try to make a compilation of combos I've seen from the video posting.
IndigoNovember Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 So I thought I'd try out the new air throw. It still suffers from the same problem as the old one in my opinion, of where your height decides which moves will work and which won't. So be prepared for things like: super low to the ground air throw -> 5C -> Zantetsu (41236C) -> 2C -> j.2A -> j.C (3747, 1 magatama regained)
BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 So in the end, nothing really changed about it aside from being unable to ODc it.
Kriegdrache Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Man I had such a bad time with Hakumen tonight. I know it's only day 1 but eeesh. The meter slowdown hit me harder than I thought it would. Anyone else feeling a little bit wobbly atm?
Sophisticat Posted May 15, 2014 Author Posted May 15, 2014 I literally haven't noticed a difference. Haku's the same. Then again, I'm still doing day 1 1.0 combos. Lol.
ban1son Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Man I had such a bad time with Hakumen tonight. I know it's only day 1 but eeesh. The meter slowdown hit me harder than I thought it would. Anyone else feeling a little bit wobbly atm? Yep, tryin to do stuff, (which is out of habit) and realising, damn im 1 or 2 stars short, still gettin used to agito as well...
Moblin Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Yeah, I used to have 8 stars after eating 1 combo. I guess it's a good thing that we have to be more conservative with stars again. I was getting spoiled. Also, I thought I saw in a recent video that you could special-cancel Hotaru the airthrow into OD? I guess that got taken out too?
Schneider-X Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Yea, they removed the ability to ODc the first hit of air throw by removing the ability to special cancel.
entnervt Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Metermanagement is more important now and I try to be much more grounded than before. But overall it felt the same like 1.0. Airthrow from higher up can be followed by f.2C>5C>stuff but it's imo not useful to spend more than 3 mags due to the proration (unless you can go for the kill). J.D follow up is nice but I need to force it and the combos afterwards in my muscle memory.
Kriegdrache Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Just so I don't feel stupid forever, you could follow up 2d with Emma by pressing a last version right? Cause I did it for the first time last night and I wasn't sure if it was new or not. :x I never attempted it before then as it was in my mind that 5d was the only one you could follow up, and that 2d and 6d didn't work. The wiki says any ground d so I assume so I feel super dumb now Anyway yeah getting used to managing the meter better seems to be haku's biggest task right now. He's fun still but man I need to relearn. And I super agree about agito follow up, I had to force myself to do it but I guess it'll feel natural after a little while. It's super cool getting potential overdrive combos off Jd tho
mAc Chaos Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Yeah you can Enma out of 2D in 1.0.He felt exactly the same to me. Literally didn't have to change a thing. But I use as little meter as possible usually. We just have to suss out the less obvious changes.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Yea, only thing we really need to do is keep out of the air as often as possible, if not try to be conservative with the meter.
Kriegdrache Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I'm sorry, I'm a big stupid smellybutt. I honestly didn't know about 2D enma wwww. And yeah, I'm just gonna pretend i'm playing SF4 or something as I never jump in that game. Either that, or I'll just smash the up button on my d-pad.
