One of my favorite things about CP haku is how he can be more offensive based. Having more meter nearly all of the time will allow us to be much more aggressive once we get the chance. In Ex I would never consider blowing 5 magatama on Tsubaki > Hotaru. being purely defensive sounds boring and terrible. I prefer keeping people out just long enough to gain near full meter, followed by an assault. Fit's me better anyway.

Has anyone been keeping a note on the videos, I haven't added any in the video thread because I have to bandwidth left until about thursday/friday :/

@Rath or applying weakpoints on your opponent and subsequently hitting them and making your hits "super effective" :eng101:

I suppose I can take a look through Jourdal2012 and pktazn's channel for anything related to Hakumen from like the last week, if that's what you're looking for. If it is, would you prefer I post the links in the video thread?

last 3 weeks would be preferred, I also plan on kakyuu's matches from GAMEacho, but that I can handle myself. Youtube's new search engine is kinda ass when it comes to dates, or I'd handle it myself -__-

EDIT: Oh and yes, post them up in the video thread. I can handle it from there. If I play the equivalent I watch matches it shouldn't mess my combos up.

I am US central.

Upper central, middle central, or southern central? Just trying to gauge what type of connection we'd have on psn, you're probably the only person I'm interested in playing against on psn.

Also, sorry I sort of fell off with the video thread, didn't know what to do with half the videos being banned already and I haven't looked into ripping / reuploading since then :I

You shouldn't take any blame I'm the one in charge of the thread anyways, I'm the one with the OP, and the one who said they'd manage the Hakumen Video thread(s).

Just gonna mention that I'm down to play on PSN a lot of the time. I'm in Arizona, but it couldn't hurt to at least test the connection once. I get bored xD

Blade, there's nothing wrong with asking for help on threads. It shouldn't ever be the responsibility of one individual to manage something like that. here and there it's alright to get lazy :P

The nerf to 2d's grab range, let alone it being able to be blocked means we're going to have to be ready to use enma on tager's drives. Which is actually a buff, since you'll always have one star.

A good post which changed my view of hakumen. It is true, being a strictly defensive character is what killed him in CT, he had no way of starting his offense and needed you to make a mistake.

Well, that's not all true. Most of his matchups were actually not THAT bad. Like, 5.5 and 6. But then you had the top tier which would murder him. Being defensive isn't automatically being bad or incomplete. He just had less ways to deal with zoners + they're supposed to give him a hard time anyway. If they wanted to make him more defensive without being weak they could have found ways to do that, instead of stressing his offense instead and ditching his original style.

I like CP Hakumen but I also kind of feel like he's a one combo character with that j.2C loop of his. I guess you could kind of say that with his older combo routes but he got enough damage from them without being forced to basically do that one combo or get nothing. CP Hakumen looked like he was solid middle tier until they found that one route along with OD stuff.

You're misunderstanding what he's saying. People think hakumen is dumb because he can rtsd, but he's saying no, that doesn't make him dumb. You just have the choice now of being rush down oriented as opposed to his original CT design of strictly a defensive character.

hence why he was incomplete, he couldn't handle certain matchups. Because they didn;t give him the necessary tools to deal with them.

isnt hakumen basically the same as extend with a new cross-up agito move?

his mix-up game isnt that great and still cost meter, he still does alot of damage after you save meter for awhile, like what else is new? besides OD combos which a good amount have good characters have OD combos as well. its your fault when hakumen hits you and your fault when he rapes you. IDK but that's my two cents

agito being able to crossup isn't even half of what makes that move so good..

Then what is it that makes agito good? I havent really watched too much hakumen recently.

The crossup isn't a big deal. What I like about it is how you can go into j.B afterwards and use it for throw mixup.

But it's not like it's broken or anything. It's not even an overhead.

Agito is the ketchup of Hakumen's moveset, you can just about put in anywhere, anytime, all the time.

Ridiculously plus on block (which means you can continue to pressure even if the opponent blocks it), difficult to AA it, very fast, can use it off a hop, causes cross up if spaced correctly, only requires one star, has projectile attributes, comboability off a CH, using it at the end of a combo gives you oki, pretty safe way of getting in close, barely even unsafe on whiff even.

That's all I could think of at the top of my head.

Did Zantetsu get a speed buff because I see 5c>zantetsu quite a bit lately, and those two don't normally link into each other like that. Also zantetsu seems to be blocked less than previous versions of BB. Just my observations though.

I think people are doing 5C>Guren>Zantetsu to combo, don't think 5C straight up connected to Zantetsu except on counter hit and maybe air knockdown or crouching confirm? Also, I think it's just because Zantetsu is being used a lot more compared to the previous game so it looks like less people are blocking it.
