Haven't heard of Shippu myself.

Also, I'm on the same boat as mAc. I've been itching to play Haku mirrors recently though for some unknown reason, I always miss my chance to play Hakus on player matches whenever I wait for my turn :/.

I would love to play Haku mirrors, but every single time I do, it's 0 bar and I don't feel like I learn anything from it.

I should get exbawks/fly to murrika

The concept was good, but what made him a good character in design was all lost. Tecta thinks cs2 Hakumen was DA BESS, you think cs2 was "cool". There's a difference.

LOL I dont main hakumen anymore.

I lost my way and converted in a Mu-12 main after CT. I'm proud

I watched the 9k Combo again and got a little happy.

I'll play horse hakumen mirrors with someone on XBL if they want

I just want to get my hands on this game. Hakumen looks like so much fun this time around. I'm pretty obsessed with finding the best stuff possible and I want to get in the lab soon. Impatience is my curse.

Probably not the best place to be asking this but where is a good site to import this game (whenever ASW announces that release date for consoles)? PlayAsia?

Posted

Do you mean when the game is released on Japanese consoles? If so, then playasia is usually where my community orders their games. But they mostly play on ps3, not xbox.

seconding playasia, but not an Xbox user. amiami.com is also an option but they tend to run out of stock quickly (cheaper than playasia as i remember)

speaking of that, great ready for combo threading once that's a thing as I plan on importing it!

Yes Japanese console release. No idea when Aksys will release the game in NA and there is too much hype not to import and start learning the new mechanics. My friends have a PS3 and are close by and when it reaches NA shores I'll pick it up on XBox.

Please continue uploading combo vids. The EX vids you have are very helpful.

Great I look forward to your work with mAc :)

guess ill screw around with him again this game since he doesnt look that boring

His attacks aren't exciting. It's just that he's all about "lol you should've burst this combo" with his immense damage output. That's what makes him fun.

If the release date gap is huge between NA and Japan, I might do the same with my friend. Though it needs to be just about as big as CSEX was (3 months I think?). I can survive a month, I still have GG to play.

Tectal, you should come to GA Tech gatherings on Fridays. I'd be down for some Mu or Hakumen matches and I know others here would be too.

Regarding iterations, CS2 Hakumen was mediocre as hell IMO. Subpar everything except corner damage, and his meter limitations were eye-rolling since you had to cautiously conserve meter to do a mediocre midscreen combo, only to realize better characters out damaged you mid screen while actually gaining meter in the process. He was pretty gimp overall

I preferred CS1 Hakumen honestly. Comboable mid screen Tsubaki, the best pressure strings/frame traps he's ever had thanks to great frame advantage on his normals, 6 frame 2A, good/great damage anywhere, counters were decent (especially j.D, which has been ass in every other BB), 4C didn't suck (well, as much, lol) since it was only -5 on block and the stagger on CH gave you a free mixup, Mugen was actually useful, etc. The only thing he really lacked was a solid anti-air since he could only 5A, 6D, or Hotaru, and those were all situational. He was very well rounded and strong in general without being overly so.

Plus, he had some hype ass combos in CS1. 6D > Max 6C > hop > (5C) Enma > Dustloop for 4K was too crunk. Hell, just launching with air hit max 6C was too crunk. Fun times.

I would but I attend CSU in Columbus Georgia.

Only way I could get to Georgia Tech is by Carpool since I dont have car.

I forgot about CS1 hakumen. I like that version of hakumen.

not enough scumbag blade, i am disappoint

I run into the same problem with NEC every year. It's like 20 minutes from my family in PA, and I go back there for Thanksgiving just the week before, then I have to drive all the way back up to Virginia. Then right away I'd have to drive right back to PA for NEC. On top of that, since it's close there really isn't a point of getting a hotel room and staying for the weekend, so I only go the first day with my brother. But it's PS3 only, so I can't really play on that either outside of just gimped C mashing. (Somehow I always get 13th place though.) I just end up basically paying $40 to go say hi to everybody for 2 hours and then leaving :3 :3 Still fun though.

You make me want to play you again Blade.

Pretty cool matches Blade :D

Also, I noticed you got couple of 3C CH towards the corner and saw that you were confirming it into 3C>2B>5A when you had at least 3 mags on you, one neat trick I always use in that situation is 3C CH>2B>Renka(1)>Kishuu>2C>corner loop to exchange sides so you get to corner the opponent instead of taking them mid screen for another round of tag. It may be a match up specific thing that you might not see yourself doing a lot but I think it's a really useful tool you should keep in mind to have a stronger pressuring presence with your Hakumen.

If you notice my IAD>IB, those were supposed to be hotaru's but nolan hit jb before I finsheed inputting hotaru. I think sometimes I wait too long to input hotaru sometimes.

This is the one thign stick has over pad sadly, you're never gimped so long as there's a stick available. It's the reason why I gave up on xbox pad, even IF you can learn to play on it, you'll never be able to play on anything but that.

Are you online?

I cant mash DP on ps3 Pad.

Does Montreal have alot of hakumen player?

There's 3 of us, my and Nolan are the more consistent ones. And Nolan being the most consistent one.

Like money, I'm pretty thrifty with magatama. But in the situation you're referring to I wasn't sure how to continue the combo in the corner if I went for 2b>guren and instead went for 2b>5a. yea I should get to learning those combos for when I'm in the corner like that.

Does that work with everybody?

I think it only fails on Tager because he's a fatty, though I think you don't really want to be near him at all, even with full mags.
