I think Type A is for people who think "Oh hey, This is a new type of fighting game that seems pretty intricate, I think this is the default control style for it." and plus it's simular to SNK style controls. Type B is for people who have played fighting games with the same control structure such as Arcana Heart. I don't think it's "weird" at all.
