Happy 100 pages everyone.

I'll update the first post with next month's info a bit later on.

I'm a little skeptic about putting the casuals i recorded up. In my stupidity I reset the audio volume to blazblue "Default", thinking it won't be too much louder. Instead, we have ENGLISH voices, BLOWN THE FUCK OUT. It sounds TERRIBLE. Those were only for the casuals though, top 8 was okay because we turned it back. But i should've checked the casual audio level before recording. Its up to you guys if you want butt-fuck TERRIBLE audio in some casuals.

I hope you have my casuals with Nate and Coopa, I was trolling so hard during casuals :3 So funny. I don't care if the audio is shit, The visuals are what convey hilarity.

Please get the venue sorted out ahead of time. I don't want to find out last minute then get work that same day :(

I don't see how the decision of the venue would be in relation to your work schedule given it's time-based, not location...

Hey for next NCI I think we should force people to enter with the same name across all tournies and venue fee lists. Also force people to use their standard handle for the tourny. It makes it quite a bit harder for TOs to seed the bracket, and it makes it harder for chun to cross reference venue fees. Which both contributed to the late start we had last time.

I know people have fun with making up shitty names, but I think it would be a small sacrifice to make as it make the event run that much smoother.

An other thing I think we should do, is stop casual play during the tourny. I know that sounds crazy but here is what I am thinking:

1. Every one not playing a tourny match should hang out near the TOs set up, or watch a match that is near the TOs set up.

2. All the set ups are in use for tourny.

the net result is that the tourny goes waaaaay faster because we don't have to spend time getting people off casuals and onto their tourny match, and we have more set ups for casuals. Once the tourny reaches top 4 or what ever we can reopen all the stations for casual play. Crazy I know, but it might be worth trying.

0 and 2 in tournament hurts enough WITH casuals. If we remove casuals, we remove opportunities to improve, especially for people coming out from far away. We also remove opportunities to hang out as a scene, playing the games we love.

I can't vote strongly enough against removing casuals, no matter how much time it could save.

EDIT: Oh, you didn't mean remove them, just postpone them. That could work :sweatdrop:

yeah, I mean no casuals during the tourny, before and after the tourny is fine. Also I could be smoking crack, I'm just throwing this out there as a way to speed things up, because we are talking about adding more games etc.

Casuals before tourney fine. Don't do them before top 8. Once top 8 is on stream if you want to watch thats fine, but if you want to grab a system and play with some friends go for it.

I don't think I remember seeing casuals in tournament time when I was there on November/December NCI, is it really a big issue?

Its mainly a time constraint thing. Given that the average tournament has been running in excess of 3 hours, its vital to just get shit moving. Although I think we can be more lenient on casuals during tourney depending on the number of setups we have. Last NCI, we had 5 BB setups and once we got to around top 16, we were never using more than 3 cause we were focusing on Stream matches. So we can let casuals happen later in the tournament but there should be an approval of the use of a setup before they start.

Sooo Devry or SJSU for Feb 5th? If it's SJSU, I will need a place to stay... again. But nobody cares, just like every other time lol.

We need to start securing a venue and a place for rin to stay each month. Chun get on that :3

Uhhh how about the last NCI where you were planning on cancelling it if you couldn't get the SJSU one or planning a campout and having to find out last minute that you could hold the NCI? That caused me to not file my day off because you didn't know if you were gonna get the venue or not. That was my deal.

I think that one of the key differences is that we for sure have a venue for next month. It's just a matter of which one to use.

Thanks.

Sorry

Is your roommate and you chill with me staying there again if its SJSU?

Second that. I personally, prefer Devry. It was a MUCH more simplified, clean setup, with PLENTY of organized power, and internet connections, and it never got crowded. Only things were the short time constraints (Which we did pretty freakin good IMO, Chun got dat shit done like only 15 minutes late, I thought it was gonna be like an hour or two), and getting ear raped by the Devry rep trying to hook us like fish on getting in on a class was painful, otherwise, everything was GREAT there. Props to the GamerZone dudes.

SJSU is sorta ghetto, while it feels more homely, moving around was a pain in the ass last time I was there, and the separation of Melty/GG players, to BB players, while organized, didn't support much cross socialzing/gaming imo.

I dunno, what do you guys think :/
