Fullforcefafnir Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 dude i sawl a match vs an order sol player vs him and he did like 30 riot stomps and he kept getting punished for it then one time the order sol player tried to punish too early and he frc'ed it into Grand viper lawl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mixtjq9anMo here it is he also wins which the first match vs him does a tyrant rave after his SW loop is pretty much done RCs it then gives respect then does a VV lol!! That vid is the very peak of humanity's creations, it can only go downhill now.
Valakrie Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Has anyone seen this video of Isa? Awesome video. http://youtube.com/watch?v=SUQZIRAaokE Oh why did he have to pick up Eddie?
Tsak Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Has anyone seen this video of Isa? Awesome video. http://youtube.com/watch?v=SUQZIRAaokE Oh why did he have to pick up Eddie? heheh that was the last video i sawl of him before he picked up eddie his eddie is pretty broke but that was one of my favorite sol vids of his his sidewinder combos are awesome i don't think he whiffs one wildthrow that whole match cheesy doode
Tiamat Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I still don't understand his love of the HS VV. his iad combos from WT were hot in that match though and great command grabs. chalk up another win for kaqn over isa though:gonk:
SSMugen Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Kaqn is up there now...>_< But I'm a big fan of Kaqn and Isa so I can't help but feel good about either winning. I'm such a whore...-_- anyways I'll get some Sol vids of me playing in this upcoming tourney next week so you guys can critisize how scrubby he is.
axel Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Has anyone seen this video of Isa? Awesome video. http://youtube.com/watch?v=SUQZIRAaokE Oh why did he have to pick up Eddie? Because only Eddie can do this to kaqn's Millia. Edit: Oh no wrong link. Here's the correct one: http://youtube.com/watch?v=bem2Fy7Xn80 Note that Ogawa took around the same time to beat kaqn not only once, but twice.
bbq sauce Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9tzM6lXvaA sol loses, but busts a random ass DIs.. and actually lands a pretty buff DI combo. lol
Brent-quest Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I have a couple from the last tourney I went to in Memphis. How to get frustrated vs a super defensive testament and drop your combos: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZSvxaY6Er9A How to be patient against Slayer and hit him with 5D LOL: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GQCL2zaJxtg They are mislabeled as Kyle W. but he's the May player. :P And the Slayer is MacArthur Blunts not Boss.... Who all is going to MWC Sol wise? I hope to but I'm a bit tight on money.
Schank Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nice crossup j.D to TK BR to SW vs that Slayer. The crowd liked it, too...
KewlAZNguy Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Yea here's my finals match vid against my friends Axel in a tourney at JACON08 even though my Sol sucks I won the tourney >_> lol can you pro sol players help me out with my gameplay? lol "Yep im irish sol" can't believe I said that. http://youtube.com/watch?v=4ItyBJIeTto
Tsak Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 even though all those Bandit Bringers were hitting its a terrible move i wouldn't use it a lot more GF FRC more combos stop doing 2D into GF CH 2D into GF is good but you weren't counterhitting with it alot better to go with 2D into BR or VV oh yeah and do SW loops 2 hits into VV is not very good damage wise
Nives Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 bandit bringer is an okay move against axl. well, combos should be something everyone should be working on all the time. kewlAZNguy, you seem to throw out a lot of moves without any real direction or purpose other then being hopeful that it is going to land. need to put more thought into what your opponent's mindset is so you can land more solid mixups. that isn't just with your mixups but also your movements in general. shouldn't spend time to move places just for the same of moving there, but try to keep a purpose in mind.
Raijin_CFN Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Yeah, you need to watch for movements from afar and if they commit, then far away GV for a clean hit. And run up 6P, 2D, and VV. 6P has ways into clean SW combos even without counterhit, if you are really keen to sw loops. SW loops, = god. I did a 85% combo to venom yesterday off a random BB. Even if you are scrubby, j.s>SW X n works excellent if you can time it.
Cadenza Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I wouldn't recommend far away GV. When you start playing better opponents that will get blocked 90%. Comboing into it from c.S > 5H or 2K > 2H is safer way to use GV. Running VV is OK if you can out yomi them and instill some fear/gain momentum. If you have the tension to RC, it turns into pretty safe mix up. Doesn't BB prorate 66%? Was his guard bar jacked? 85% is like ~300 dmg, no?
Raijin_CFN Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 If they try something really heavy or dumb they really shouldn't have a chance to block if you anticipate and time GV right. And The forced prorate of 66% doesn't matter that much because the SW damage formula is wacky. His guard bar may have been 20/30 points up but nowhere near flashing. I just unleashed a sw combo on him and almost grizzed my pants when I noticed he was almost dead from full health. I couldn't believe it myself. It was maybe 80%, and it was a beat combo. j.s.>CLSW is the best to me because you can get 5-6 clean SW. And the proration is friendlier because SW proration is forced anyways. Before someone calls me crazy for 5-6 CLSW, it's cause the more hits in a combo, the tighter the conditions for CLSW. Just the way when you get 14 or so hits into a combo, they fall faster, and push back. Making a CLSW every other hit by j.s. CLSW is ownage, and lets you get more SW if you can time it. So yeah, about 300 damage.
Cadenza Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Like I said, good players shouldn't be doing heavy or dumb things very often at all. The people I consider good or better, Marlinpie for example, will eat half your health for trying something like that. Better chance comboing into or doing it closer. RCing GV is also not a bad idea at all. It was maybe 80%, and it was a beat combo. If you mean black beat, then that would make more sense. It should be techable around the 4th CLSW. 20-30 GP is still a lot better than 0. They don't actually fall any faster, the untechable time just gets decreased proportional to the hits. People typically stop around 4-5 for knockdown purposes. Getting knockdown is arguably better for momentum.
Raijin_CFN Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Pretty much all of what you said is true. A well timed gv is worth it tho, IMO. But the combo was gold beat, and a shit ton of damage. KD is good, but with that kind of proration on your side, it's better just to kill folks. Sol's mixup is weird, that you don't even really need kd. EDIT: Tried it this morning. Guard bar +30, Counter hit set to first, started the combo with BB. 330 damage, and I think 14 hits.

Stop trying to punish high bursts with wildthrow (just combo them) and work on your burst game in general. More importantly you need better pressure and instead of getting hit THEN blocking just block.
Abominable K Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 LOL, you probably didn't even need to look at the vids. As far as pressure, I'm beginning to understand more about applying it, but I'm at a loss on what to do without meter.
Hatred Edge Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Abominable K: -You have pretty much no poking game at all. Use more 2K,2S,5K,2P. You need to do block strings with GF FRC added to the mix. -Gotta get used to landing a hit THEN going into Grand Viper. -Never do GF close range without an FRC. That's asking for punishment. -When you land a hit and cannot go into a high damage combo, go for a knockdown and DO NOT OTG GF a grounded opponent. That's a really bad habit. Sol has to get his knockdowns in vs Venom. And why the lack BR in a short combo? That's what you should be doing instead of just doing GFs. -Never open with Bandit Bringer or Riot Stomp. -If you have no meter, focus on getting in and getting knockdowns, using pokes, throws, etc. Sol doesn't need meter to wreck anyone's face. If you get a knockdown you can do a meaty Gunflame or do OTG 2K>5S GF when they are in the corner. -The one I know you can punsih Venom using Fafnir is his 5D. -If Venom does Dubi Curve(the move when his strikes down then a ball comes out) outside of a combo you can punish with VV or to be a true bastard, GV. It's a free opening. -Work on those Sidewinder combos. It sucks to see you drop them halfway.

VR-Raiden Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Nice matches hate to see so many WT combos dropped though I mess up the 66j.D > SW combo in matches a lot too, thus I almost always go for a simpler starter (j.S > SW). Better to get some damage and a knockdown than no damage or knockdown at all. Of course it would be best to get the most damage and the knockdown. If you can do 66j.D > SW off wild throw consistently in matches, obviously by all means do that. but I rarely see that happen consistently :P EDIT: Noticed he does end the first round with a j.S > SW from WT to ensure his win.
Senkei Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Luigi-Bo 87 or anyone else Mind if i throw these matches up on my youtube account for easy access?? and was this a casual or MM? and im sure it was at Season's beating Right?? thanks guys:yaaay:
