Another thing in that video that I just noticed is that an AB2 ender off of j.C does 5.1k damage, yikes. Not only is the Tauntloop not required, but AB2 is even easier now. I can definitely see it being commonly used.

On a side note, I see the Tao haters are already flocking to the comments section. It might be an early guess, but I suspect people are going to complain about Tao's AB2 like they do about Tager's 360s/GETB.

You didn't need taunt loop in CS1 to do the AB2 ender after a 3C in coner...it's exactly the same way it was in CS1 except that you only use one 6C. Also I love the Tao hate :kitty:

@lurch_E_bean: couldn't resist :3

EDIT: ~A and ~B cancel still seem pretty safe after all.

Seems I forgot about that, as I rarely did AB2 outside of the TL, Riku. Either way, AB2 is definitely easier to perform. Now I'm curious if a midscreen AB2 is possible in CS2

Also, you don't seem to need to super jump anymore either for it.

It seems that 2B->6A->2D~B->Taunt->AH combo :psyduck:

Now THAT is a taunt combo!

Is that doable mid-screen? I know you could do it in CS1 and CT even, but I think Tao needed to be near the corner.

Yeah, you need to be near the coner.

They can't remove it unless they remove the 2D~6 > cat2 link as well, and she'd end up with no valid combo enders. Besides, cat2loop isn't really an issue damage-wise.

However they will likely remove the j.8D~A loop sooner or later.

There's a note about her 8000 combo (didn't understand it right, but looks like you only use 50 meter for it):

タオちゃん、やっぱ金バとゲージ50%あれば8000以上余裕だなw

It says theres an 8000+ combo if you have gold burst and 50% gauge.

I think it's time to create a Tao CS2 video theard lol

Interesting combo against Jin near coner: 3C->[2]8D~B->5C->j.8D~A loop. I think it's that same zombie Tao from the first Tao videos. I remember reading reports that Tao's 2D and 6A had became weak anti-airs...but they both seem fine for me and now Tao does 3k from a 6A anti-air using the loop. Also I'm kinda disappointed how Tao's j.B isn't useful as we thought it would be.

Boy, some flashy combos here! Midscreen Triple launch combo for the win/3.8k! Hope more interesting useful stuff will be coming soon :3

Those are some awesome vids. The new 8D~A combos look quite fun too.

One thing my friends recently told me is that Tao now has 10.5k HP. I tried checking myself, but I really can't tell by watching videos. Could someone confirm/deny this?

Posted

In the first loketest it was a rumor that they increased her HP. After that it was never mentioned a HP buff...not even in general nantoka...so probably her HP is still 9.5k

Posted (edited)

I'll try to check by recording the damage in a video. I'll edit this post once I figure it out.

EDIT: from the looks of it, Tao still has 9.5k HP. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure she does.

Taokaka seems to have a lot more burst-safe stuff in CS2 because of the 8D~A loop.

Out of curiosity, why haven't any of the videos I've seen use CH > 6C > wallbounce > Cat3? I could have sworn that 6C still wallbounces after a CH, and I would think that it would give much better damage than 6A starters.

Random shit:

Both 4B+C and j.B+C aren't special cancelable anymore

Any Dancing Edge move untechable time increased

Every DE move really has same move proration with the exception of j.8D

The timing of the DE follow ups (~A/B/C cancels) are slightly more strict.

214D now puts you in CH and changes direction automatically. Better for crossups now.

@Stan McJeeves: I have my doubts if any CH 5C/2C/6A/j.C->6C really wallbounces midscreen(a pure 6C CH really does). Most of japanese Tao players are still playing a CS1 style like (this didn't change too much anyway, we just can't abuse j.D like we could before), where the reward of a 5C CH was poor and you really hadn't a motive to use it outside of pressure and some combos. Any other move in the game doesn't seem to wallbounce midscreen if you start with another move CH (FC doesn't count), so I don't think 5C CH really wallbounces midscreen.

That's odd, I'm almost positive that it was confirmed that Tao gets CH > 6C > Wallbounce a few pages back in this topic.

I also noticed that pretty much every Drive in the combos above use 6 cancels instead of things like A or C cancels. I suppose that's what Arc was talking about when they said Tao would be easier.

You joking, right? I mean, really...you can't be serious :psyduck:

...That is not exactly what I was talking about :v: . You know, you use like...even more ~A cancels than before...a lot more...and we still use some ~C cancels as well :v:
