So, this Friday, I'm bringing my PS3, with only Blazblue, which everyone will be forced to play with me, as Friday is my birthday so I will assume the authority to force people to play things. I really want to place well in it at Final Round.

So Tim the reason I haven't been able to get back to you is:

A. My phone has been near dead most afternoon

B. I've been underwater since I got out of class.

Definitely not going anywhere in this weather.

I am more than okay with this, actually beating skeletal minion a few times this weekend has pushed me into practice over drive for FR.

speaking of tournaments, last Saturday's results from revival:

1: skeletonminion

2: dj ducky

3: solid play

4: tsu

5: lockhart

5: kazzmat

7: kimchi

7: yohan

9: ftebubba

9: simple kiss

9: fte nebs

9: fte Kaz-KA

13: fte this that

13: crash dummy x

13: arch angeo

I was surprised to see practically double the the number of participants from last month.

Tested those rush tools I mentioned earlier, results as promised:

If Iron Man gets push-blocked on a normal, he can safely cancel into 2C+assist for frame advantage from half-screen. Unibeam is also safe if IM is solo.

Unlike everybody else, his dash isn't crouch- or jump-cancelable at will, only during the second half of the dash. So this guy has to be pretty careful about moving forward.

Mags and Iron Man have some fun fly-cancel-S/tri-dash mixup things they can do on block. Mags' cr.H beats pushblock by itself, assuming the slide itself isn't pushed back too on hit.

Favorable sequences include IM: [(2L, 2M, 5H, fly, [optional f.M, f.2H], f.S) OR tridash M] x N, and Mag: [(2L, 2M, 2H, fly, [optional f.M], f.S) OR tri-dash S] x N. Throw in random assists to cover gaps or keep them guessing. If you get pushblocked out, I don't know; get back in somehow?

Doom beats AG by himself. Dash-cancel his normal, jump-cancel immediately, then airdash M or just j.Mx2 against tall characters (Dormammu, Sentinel). I find I can get a couple loops against the training bot set on "Advance-Guard All" before the gap gets big enough to be unsafe. Unfortunately, his aerial hitboxes are easily counter-hit, so the Doctor needs an escort to help him cross the screen first.

That's all for now, the rest of it didn't work out so well. I hope everyone does well at FinalRound. I ordered my Marvel 3 guide, but the lack of IRL matchup practice is killing my game. Been playing a lot of chess though. It feels like it makes me less stupid at fundamentals.

I'm doing the same thing, but with SSF4. I'm not even bringing marvel 3 just in case.

That's fine, my copy of marvel STILL isn't here so I haven't practiced anything at all. Might as well play the only game I know how LOL.

Nice to see the game still has SOME life left in in. Guess I should practice up, myself.

Sounds great, I'd love to play if I can go there. I don't know if I will though. I have to go to Peter's concert with chamber choir and it's like 2 hours long...

also I'm raging that I missed yet another opportunity to beat skeletal minion and win lots of money :(

But how am I suppose to get my AH3 practice in?

Fuck all ya ;p

If Kazzmatt doesn't show up this weekend, I'll just steal a different Ps3 to pop Blazblue in, and let you use my PS3 for AH3 =P

If you guys are actually serious about playing BB I'll let you guys have some stream time, and we can use andrew's ps3 for AH3. Whats a concern is that we still need a dedicated PS2 setup. There are simply not enough TV's for all the consoles we have.

Malik is coming again and bringing his ps2 and probably [heavy] tv.

Since this is the last gathering before Final Round, and we're probably going to have a lot of people show up, we should try to compile a list of the setups we'll have and try to get dedicated setups for most of the games that are going to be at Final Round (hopefully all except HDR and Tekken, since no one who shows up really plays though).

If Kazzmatt, Paul, Jim, and I all bring setups, we'll be able to cover AH3, MVC3, SSFIV, and BB. Then Malik's PS2 setup. We would just need a 6th setup for the other PS2 game. I could bring John's PS2, we'd just need another tv.

We could switch ah3 off for ggac as long as the tv is a crtsie

You know, I never did play against you at ATL Revival and that somewhat bothers me. I think you should come hang around with myself, ducky (Who's real handle is ConvoltedStyle aka Keyon ) and kimchi at Final Round. Will also be trying to round up SkeletalMinion and my hero Solidplay. Must say you're the most impressive Lambda I've seen. A lot better than the Lambda we have up here in SC. Hope to see you and those that weren't able to make it at FR.

Organizing another Marvel gathering at my place tonight, and probably tomorrow afternoon too.

Call me if you want in.

If I can fix my xbox on thursday then I'll bring that and my monitor. We can put pretty much whatever on it I'm not too picky. That said I'd be bringing MvC3 and SSFIV.

On a related note who knows anything about 360 benq drives, or has a RROD 360 with a benq drive in it?

Deadspace 2 disappoints me, I'm finding it highly predictable(bodies on the floor and plot) and sometimes just plain cheap(unavoidable death ambushes). I feel this one looses what made the first one so great with the atmosphere and sense of purpose. With this one I really have no motivation so help Isaac survive.

Hey guys, I know it's a long drive, but A.R.K. III (one of the largest fighting game tournaments in the South) is coming up on April 2nd at Conway Gaming Center in Conway, AR! We are expecting at least ~120 people at this tournament featuring games such as Arcana Heart 3, Blazblue: CS, Tekken 6, SSF4, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Melee, Brawl, Project: M, and more! We will have a recording station available for you to record whichever matches you deem necessary (just work it out with the station manager) as well as a stream station. If you have ANY questions, please post on here or on the official tournament thread where you can find more details about the event located at http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?10889-A.R.K.-III!-Conway-AR-4-2-11-BB-SSF4-MvC3-T6-Smash-More!. Please try to make it and show your support not only for us, but for the Regional BlazBlue community as a whole. Thanks guys!

PS: I'm sorry if I cluttered up your thread. Just trying to raise awareness for people who might otherwise not have seen our tournament. Know that if you have any questions, I will be checking this (and the official tournament thread) daily to address any potential issues/problems. Thanks again!

Haha it's 10 hours but if you're willing to drive part of the way, I can possibly arrange for a ride for you for the rest of the way (perhaps from Memphis?). If not, you're more than welcome to drive into town early and crash at one of our places. It'd be perfect for you to hit our before/after parties and get boozed up ;)
