Eshi Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I fucking love my new super ergonomic super american arcade stick. MK9 is pretty fun so far, netplay is awful though. I've decided I'm going to main Cyrax. He feels decent so far, a little lacking in damage but he has some pretty slick unblockable setups.

TheGreatReptar Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) SSFIV also has those weird crossup unblockables still, where if you try to block, the attack lands on the front, but if you don't (or hold forward) it hits behind. Also, I played a few matches online in Blazblue today. I think I actually play better online. I don't rely on random guesses leading into stupid combos since I can't very well do them under any lag, so I end up analyzing people and reading them (or at least trying to). I'm already pretty used to the different button layout and bat stick, plus it looks super classy. The only clearly bad thing is it's much heavier. Cyrax's unblockable bombs have a million start-up frames, but there's a set-up to get around it. After his command throw the opponent gets stuck in a reeling animation either until it ends or until he blocks an attack. Right after the command throw he summons a bomb, dashes forward and does a small block string to force them into block stun long enough for the bomb to launch them. It's pretty sweet and does a lot of damage, but there's ways to get out of it. Pretty much every super has a hit of super armor along with some EX moves.

FunkyP Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Going from Marvel to Arcana, I realize how slow AH is. Normally I'm not the kind of person to do combos using visual cues, but if i don't in arcana I'll hit the next move too early. Luckily the hitstop on moves in this game is forever.

I think clarice's crossups are faster than marvel mixups. matchbox cars.
