Tsuki Garyuu Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Her weak damage wasn't the problem in my case, it was that she doesn't have a handful of useful moves or priorities that don't require the use of her orb. I think she needs more chains to her orb summons than just AA and BB. I could be wrong though. As for ZWEI, there could've been at least 2 more moves for EIN in order to make him unpredictable. EIN has no low hit. lol Still, I'm finding him to suit my playstyle, so I'll keep practicing ZWEI.
PSOInvictus Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Looks like im a Cervantes fag. Nightmare and ivy on standby.
PSOInvictus Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Where does one find info on this game to know what they are doing is not outdated or frame data?
iw2ma Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 haha SCIV is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> than SCIII any version. God SC3 was so terrible.
Shiawase Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Well I run myself into a problem. Having some trouble with Viola online, it seems like I lose with her alot. Maybe because her play style is different from anyone elses, and needs alot of attention and practice with her. (Trying to do that now) I been going into training mode every day to try and get new moves in and actually getting to know her move list, etc. So hoping I can get her down soon, even though the games not even a week old. I read that she does some low damage. But that doesnt stop me from using her. Low damage, lack of good step killers, and the fact that you can GI the ball gives her a lot of trouble. As soon as people learn to GI and sidestep more, you need to focus on learning her mixups. I think a lot of Viola players will drop her in a month or so just because you can play a handful of characters and win a lot easier.
Vulcan422 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I honestly don't get why people whine about Nightmare. Yes, he moves faster. Yes, he's a ringout machine. Yes, he can take off half of your lifebar with half of a meter, and can probably 100% you with full meter and the right Brave Edges. So what? He's still Nightmare. He's fast but compared to a lot of other characters (except Astaroth) his moves are still telegraphed to hell and back. Take away his ringout ability by picking infinite-boundary stages. Out-zone him and poke him to death. Hell, they whined about him too during SC4. "He's too slow!", "They nerfed his good tools!", etc.
PSOInvictus Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I am of the who gives a shit school of thought when it comes to that. Seems other characters would be more annoying by now to some people. Yet still its always nightmare crying
Shiawase Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I am of the who gives a shit school of thought when it comes to that. Seems other characters would be more annoying by now to some people. Yet still its always nightmare crying I'd fight against Nightmare everyday if it meant I didn't have to fight Natsu. I may be a scrub that doesn't know how to fight against her yet, but her shit is 100x more annoying than anything Nightmare can do.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Honestly, 7.5 is a high enough score which is only 2.5 scores lower than a perfect one. I can easily see the game losing a point or two for me if a gameplay feature that took me a lot of time to complete didn't meet my expectations, even if the rest of the game is perfect. People should realize that the scores go from 1 to 10, not from 6 to 10. And, of course, that the score is subjective. But i wanna complain! Btw, any char in this game who plays like my Mina?
Shiawase Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 But i wanna complain! Btw, any char in this game who plays like my Mina? Xiba kinda feels like a Mina/Kilik hybrid.
Kayahtic Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Low damage, lack of good step killers, and the fact that you can GI the ball gives her a lot of trouble. As soon as people learn to GI and sidestep more, you need to focus on learning her mixups. I think a lot of Viola players will drop her in a month or so just because you can play a handful of characters and win a lot easier. When I switch to Pyrrha, I have no problem winning at all, so I know its not me and its Viola thats a bit more challenging. But you're right, I will either end up dropping her if shes too hard, or just keep trying. @_@
SoWL Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Btw, any char in this game who plays like my Mina? My friend mained Mina, and he likes Xiba a whole lot. I was afraid that he'll turn out closer to Kilik, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Shiawase Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 When I switch to Pyrrha, I have no problem winning at all, so I know its not me and its Viola thats a bit more challenging. But you're right, I will either end up dropping her if shes too hard, or just keep trying. @_@ I'll probably drop her for now. This is my first Soul Calibur game that I'm taking seriously, so learning the game + learning a complex character = nope. I'm going to check out Algol once I unlock him ... zoning with bubbles seems fun.
Starlight777 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I have more losses than wins thanks to my stupidity with Viola, but I'm not gonna drop her at all lol. I'll just play Raphael and Pyrrha Omega a bit more. The one thing I dislike about playing as Viola is beating someone within a centimeter of their bar and then magically becoming a choke artist the second afterward.
Kayahtic Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I'll probably drop her for now. This is my first Soul Calibur game that I'm taking seriously, so learning the game + learning a complex character = nope. I'm going to check out Algol once I unlock him ... zoning with bubbles seems fun. Oh nice! Well I wish you the best of luck and have fun!
Xechs Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Soul Edge>>>SC = SCII = SCV > SCIII > SCIV Fixed for justice. Having a lot of fun with Nightmare and Natsu is better than I expected, these are my main and sub atm.
Sharakonta Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I'll probably drop her for now. This is my first Soul Calibur game that I'm taking seriously, so learning the game + learning a complex character = nope. I'm going to check out Algol once I unlock him ... zoning with bubbles seems fun. Screw the bubbles.... I hate's dem
PSOInvictus Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 yeah algol is hilarious. all ill say. Right now ringing out from obscene distances with nightmare is priority.
Vulcan422 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 That should be the primary objective of every Nightmare player. He's a momentum-based character. If he doesn't get in soon enough then he's at a serious disadvantage.
Kayahtic Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 I hate it when some people just keep attacking you and dont give you a chance to like block, move out of the way or keep knocking you down because they're desperate to win. I think those are just spamming noobs. .-.
Vulcan422 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Practically every move in the game has some way of being avoided. Learn at which times during the moves you can sidestep. If you think your opponent is rushing in for a grab, duck it and counterattack. Knowing how and when to maneuver your character is an absolute must in Soul Calibur.
Kayahtic Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 In player matches for PS3 when you press R2 it says like 1P? LP? 2P? Whats that for? What hand you hold your weapon?
Vulcan422 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 I think it's the side you pick for the fight. In SC4 you could choose which side you wanted to play on.
