i think the features they have added categorize it as a big change.

it seems to me that you just dont like SC anymore (or it isnt your taste of a game anymore). i dont like SF, but its not realistic for me to say the game needs a complete overhaul with nearly all characters being new, new gameplay, longer combos, etc... that wouldnt be SF

They did that in 3 and at first it was...not well received, but people adjusted. Honestly I have been doing SC since SB and all I can think is that I want SC to be a worthwile mix with a game like Samurai Showdown

I don't care if the combos are longer I just want the system used to execute them to be better. I guess I just want less of the whole "I attack, you block, you attack, I block, turtle poke turtle sidestep..." etc...etc...

Watching high level play of this game was actually very boring. Though based on the previews it looks like it's more interesting. *still waits for Tira*

Question, do you find Samurai Shodown boring? Because it is basically a 2D precedent to Soul series. At its core it's a poking game. I like Soul Calibur that way. What they should make the game interesting is good pressure game, good mobility, and higher damage. But that's that. I just have to hope the new mechanics in SCV make the game better to watch at least.

how could they fix this though? i think that making the gameplay faster has helped...

any ideas?... there is parrying as well

Maybe I'm just biased cause I'm now so used to the really fast paced gameplay of CS2. Poking is fun, but yeah I guess it's "boring" to me cause it's so slow and I can't get into it. I mean I have no problem with poking, but I guess the fact that is was very slow paced is what put me off. Like I said the increase in speed has made it more interesting already. I don't think I'll ever play this one seriously though, I'm just a fan of the character designs more that anything. ;w;

If neutral is good(Varied, I suppose?) enough and frame advantage/disadvantage is "meaningful" enough in terms of pressure strings/mixup and risk/reward, then I think that would do enough to remove any "Block move, poke back after 1-2 strikes" x N feeling.

I find it to be great, i have yet to see high level play of SC5 lol as it doesn't exist yet, but high level SC2-4 is great. The finals at SC4 nationals was amazing.

I'm such a big fan of the SC series. But right now it seems like as time went on alot of the characters may be missing because something happened to them. I know its too early to tell, but people are saying Sophitia and Cassandra wont be in the game. Makes me sad because Soph was my main in all the games. (Havent played 4 yet) But then again, too early to tell what's going on, because the game and story are still in development. So I'm sure it will be good, will prolly end up buying it.

Also, I agree with Natsu. She looks awesome, I'd prolly end up maining her if I had to. :P

I think it's weird to think that as Sophies playstyle exists in one of her kids, while Cass exists in the other.

I just think it's strange that some people have been theorizing that Sophitia will be in the game still as "Nightmare" and be the new wielder of Soul Edge.

The fact that they said that "Nightmare" would be back makes me want to at least believe we're still talking about everyone's favorite suit of purple armor that's been around since Soul Calibur 1. I mean, otherwise it just isn't Azure Nightmare you know what I mean?

Im pretty sure they also said that Nightmare will be wielding a different weapon and form. That's where the rumors started...also the new trailer kinda seals the deal with a voice that sounds like sophita's saying "you and i....dot dot dot...will live FO-EVVV-EEERR!...My dearest-" Then dickwad yells "Pyrrha!" Buuut it's all speculation... No use worrying about it.

I was just saying that if indeed that's the case I think it's a bit misleading to refer to an entity like that as "Nightmare", when that's always been the name associated with the azure armor. Might as well just call it Inferno at that point.

daishi has been tweeting... talks about a more advanced system...sounds sick. special moves, faster gameplay and more technical.

Lastly, Just Guard is a system for high level players which is performed by inputting guard at just frames. The guard stun frames reduces.

Leixia (蕾夏 in Japanese kanji), Xianghua's daughter, will be in SCV, and as much as I love Xianghua I'm glad to see a new character taking her stead and I'm even happier that it gets to be her own daughter.

Critical Edge is a new attack system that delivers high damage to the opponent. Can be used in combos. Requires 1 Critical Gauge bar.

The Critical Gauge can be charged up to 2 bars. So some characters can connect 2 Critical Edges in a row.

A small portion of the Critical Gauge can be used to perform Brave Edge; a powered up ver. of standard attacks (character shines when used)

The properties change depending on the move; increase damage, adds additional attacks, gives advantage on block, changes hit property etc.

There are 3 defensive systems. Quick Move can be performed by tapping the same direction twice. Kind of like a faster version of the 8WR.

Similar to SC2’s evasion but doesn’t have invincible frames. It’s very easy to do and can be used by beginners too.

Secondly is Guard Impact. It's still being adjusted but it’s the system everyone's familiar with from previous series.

Lastly, Just Guard is a system for high level players which is performed by inputting guard at just frames. The guard stun frames reduces.

Natsu’s moves are based off Taki’s but she can move faster and can transfer to the Possession stance quickly to fake the opponent.

Her CE fires 3 blasts and can be followed up with the possession stance to apply additional attacks. She’s very fast. Highly recommend.

Ivy’s closer to SC1&2. Her basic moves will be in sword form and by holding the button down, can be turned into a whip.

Calamity Symphony's command is still hard to pull off. It can be used after a dash but if the B throw comes out you’ve made a mistake!

Leixia is written ”蕾夏” in Japanese Kanji. Hope everyone likes her.
