SC4 Maxi was literally garbage. Arguably worst character in the game.

From the looks of it they have an instant, what used to be WR A+B , it looks good.

No, that's not arguable. At all.

Seong Mi-Na, Rock and Tira would all like a word with you about that. Maxi was never lower then B-Tier.

I never really liked the whole Jolly/Gloomy thing with Tira. It made her way too inconsistent and characters should only be damaging themselves when the payoff is pretty large. Tira did way too little to be using up her own health.

Tira was bad. Tira STILL looks bad.

I hope either Viola is good or Tira gets some major improvements before release, because I never wanna off myself in the middle of a match again.

It is arguable, as it's been since the tiers started for SC4. Maxi was worst in game at the beginning. He slowly rose above Talim and Rock, Talim grew higher than Maxi after korea showed us what's up. TIRA was never worse than Maxi at any time, and still isn't. Mina..... well maybe.

You can punish Maxi after doing ANYTHING, and a lot of it on HIT. 6A-A was the safest thing he had that wasn't a single hit, and you can crouch punish that on reaction.

Tira did seem pretty garbage really. I could agree that some characters foot speed needs to be changed. Maxi probably needs to be sped up and Astaroth slowed down. Some characters like Natsu who seem fine as is though may become too good if sped up.

Ezio is great and fits perfectly, but more than anything I'm hype about that release date confirmation.

January 31st 2012, baby.

so if this is true, we have Ezio, Xianghua's daughter?, Nightmare, a new Unknown Character

I wish they used Dampierre again instead. But hey, at least it's not Yoda.

Dampierre wasn't a guest character, he's an original character. While he does have a great chance of making a return due to him being the SC series newest character (Aside from the SCV ones, but they don't really count yet) he probably won't make a return as himself, he'd be really, really old and they don't seem to be having anyone of that age return except for the core cast. I definitely want to see his playstyle return, he was a really interesting character and I enjoyed him quite a bit. I don't want to see his character die so quickly, so hopefully they don't kill off the design.

That's exactly my point. Why add a guest character when you already have an original character with similar designs?

And hell, it seems that age does not matter at all in SCV, so I wouldn't count him out so soon.

For once, a guest character I have no problem with. He actually fits in the setting without it being jarring like Darth Vader or yuck Kratos. Though now that people are bringing it up, I want Dampierre too. He was freaking hilarious and good.

EDIT: Wait who is that guy with the hat? He looks like Van Helsing a little. If he wields a gun or crossbow I might have a new main.

heihachi was a total beast tho... miss him

i think ezio will be givin some really cool moves since his look isnt very prominent or interesting . so im down with that.

Judging from the pic, Nightmare looks like himself. Good now my friend isn't gonna whine about Nightmare getting a rule 63, though I am curious what a gen-ben Nightmare would look like. :kitty:

Impressions about SCV from Australia, pretty interesting read

Not much to care for, really, cuz you ought to expect what new mechanics will bring to table in every single sequel to a fighting game. We're going to play the game, get salted by game mechanic exploits and bugs, then the feedback will reach the developers to merit a patch. Sounds pessimistic, but that's all there is to it.

Though I agree the Brave Edges seem to be a little light on damage and CE's ought to be decreased in damage. As for the "baitfest" bit, that's typical for some fighting games.

Raidou Kuzunoha XIV

I'd like to know how hat man fights also. He's got one of the more appealing designs judging from that tiny rectangle of art...

Just from seeing Ezio this game is already better than IV. I feel like he won't completely crap on the game like the Star Wars characters did.

Let's see some Lizardmenz

Welp, the mystery can be put to rest!

I must say Raph is my favorite in design for the returning characters, and sadly I don't like Leixia's design as much as I had hoped...hopefully her alt is a bit better, but more importantly her gameplay doesn't make me wishing for Xianghua, ah well, I always have Hilde to fall back on.

why is that the concept are can look so cool, but then their in game models dont... rapheal and zwei for instance. i dunno though x_x

nightmare looks pretty damn sick. so happy hes got his eye-sword as well

I guess it's because the art styles kind of clash, and if you try to make the concept and 3d models look exact you end up with monstrosities like the character models in Star Ocean 4.

Arghh I dont like redesigned Raphael. He was cool before, but now they're really just trying too hard in his redesign IMO.

Leixia looks ok.
