Man, Asakura looks like the most solid Tsubaki I've seen yet and he uses my color! New favorite found lol. Spinoza had a nice ass combo in his first vid also: CH 5c in corner, 5cc, 623c, whiff j.214a, 2cc, 22d, 5d for 1 bar, 623c, j.214d, 5c(w)c, 2cc, 623c, whiff j.214a, 2c. Haz teched out there cause he was too high,so not sure if you can actually finish that but hella stylish and damage. Cool to know that a 22d in the corner gives a full charge bar of 5d time.

The 5C CH > 5D charge cancel >5B/5C is very cool. Adds a few more layers to what you can do with 5C which is our best CH starter to start with already.

I've worked around with the above for some spiffy mid screen combos as well as corner all resulting in over 5k damage without meter. Pretty cool stuff.

That was fantastic. :yaaay:

I loved seeing how both the super and 214D can be used to avoid practical moments. That goes for the astral too!

I loved seeing the variation of combos especially, it's really nice to see Tsubaki doing that, and it seems like you've grasped the CH 5C combos haha!

Thank you Batousai.

Thanks, Kiba.

The next video I want to make is a community project where I have various Tsubaki players to chime in and do some combo works so I can combine them into one video and give everyone credit at the end of the video.

You should participate if I get that rolling after CS II comes out. :keke:

Sounds good, I'll reinvent my fave combo from cs1. 5 charges, 100% tension, 2 bursts, an astral, and every fancy cs1 tactic I knew of lol.

Tsubaki Yayoi Combo Video - Two Winged Angel:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_GRoKg5Aas

Showcases impractical/situational combos more than anything =)

Hope you enjoy

Very nice. And informative - I didn't know j.236D staggered on ground hit. Nothing about that in the frame data. o.o

Posted

It only does that on counter hit, on non-counter the opponent just falls over only allowing for a j.214D followup.

It's not like you will be hitting with a j.236D anyways though, the chances of ever getting a counter hit with j.236D is really small, though I was surprised by the decent proration on it.

That's odd. o.o I was watching for that, and I clearly saw the "Counter" pop up on the Valkenhayn combo but then later in the video, there's a combo on Ragna where you start with that and you DON'T see to get a "Counter" popup.

Confuuuuuused.

Nice combo vid! I'll add it to the front page and all that jazz when I get back from work. I'm currently typing this out while on break lol.

I'm a naughty PK :eng101:

Ah yes, my mistake. Both non-counter and counter stagger but on a counter hit the stagger lasts about 3-4 times as long before the opponent collapses and can tech out.

Some spiffy stuff in the video.

Mostly impractical as you say but I think some of those RC application can be pretty useful for positional advantage. Also nice to see something done with 6CC fatal counter but I think at this point 5C -> 5D/2D charge cancel is still out best overall counter choice starter.

As for j.236D as a starter for the stagger, probably a bad idea in a real fight.

In fact using j.236X outside of combo is pretty bad now unless you have charge to cancel out by following up with j.214D.

The reason why I opt not to do 5 charge combos(outside of mugen) generally is because most of the time the amount of damage you gain from 4 -> 5 is rather low considering the extra charge necessity.

Light weight~ :v:

Yeah, it's unfortunate that her FC still falls short compared to a 5C starter, it does allow you to extend her combos a slight bit but due to the proration the damage is still lower in most cases, especially cause extending her combos beyond the "norm" generally means you can't do a DD at the end, which is a pretty big chunk of damage.

And yeah, good luck hitting with j.236D, even though I really wanna try to start a combo with it at least once just for fun in a real match xD

I'm not allowed to be on the internet at any time while there lol. Of course I'd be deprived :gonk:

I went through the NSB stream and got some of the Tsubaki matches I saw. I don't think I got all of them because my splitter kept freaking out at the file size from the recording so I just got who I could.

supinoza?

This was a very painful series of matches to watch.

Dropped almost every combo and made terrible choices for combos/continuation with the charge/meter that he had.

Eeesh.
