Only 236236D lunges forward I guess.

Yeah, that's how it seems.

236236C is more or less the same as it is now (though seems to have gained some invulnerability frames), 236236D seems like a... well, Super version of 236X. Or at least, that's how I'm guessing based on what I've seen in the videos so far.

Looking at the super at the end of round 1 in that Litchi match, I think it's safe to say 236236C is no longer -A Bunch on block.

...I like this Tsubaki.

He still has lots of improving to do, but I like him.

Seeing Kaqn get astraled as Ragna Vs. Tsubaki is pretty vindicating lol.

EDIT:Also never tried it in CS, but I wonder if you can stop Dead Spike shenanigans with 22b.

I think if it's a projectile in CS it's possible. Haven't tried it myself though.

Yea you can :)

Indeed, just tried it in training mode. Have to admit it's kinda fun :D

Boy, I wish I'd known this yesterday afternoon. @_@

You probably already know this but I'm just gonna say it again anyway haha.

I know most if not all her B moves have projectile invincibility. It's just a matter of knowing whether or not the opponent's moves are projectiles or not xD

Can anyone confirm if 236B would work (since it's got DP-like projectile invul)?

236B RC should make a better punish, damage-wise.

It theoretically could work. It has projectile invulnerability starting at frame 1, though the invulnerability doesn't last until the active frames. Still, Dead Spike only actually has 4 active frames, so it SHOULD work, it's just more timing sensitive.

And yeah. I knew about the projectile immunity bits on B moves, though I tend to forget about 22B, because it's usually not useful to avoid a projectile but stay in place. >.< It NEVER occured to me to check if Dead Spike was a projectile though. -_-

Don't worry, I wouldn't have thought to check if his DS was a projectile as well haha.

Just tried it in training mode. Your timing has to be EXACT to not be hit by it as well. If you're too early he'll just hit you, if you're a little bit late you'll hit him but you'll get hit as well. It's like right as the DS is out and you see the face you'll be safe but the timing is pretty strict. If you're talking about trying to escape from it as he's up close and using it then both of you will still be hit unless you have perfect timing though 9/10 it was both of us getting hit. Tried 214B as well and that was a bit better (I didn't get hit as much using it) than 236B even though the timing on them are practically the same but you still get hit most of the time unless timed correctly. Distance is also a factor for both.

22B is safer overall since it can be used even if you're close to him as it's coming out or you're standing in the middle as it's out since you still won't get hit and you'll most likely hit him. You can also hold and charge it and the DS won't hit you.

Fun note: If you're super-close to Ragna (like up in his face really close e.g. so close you can push him with your character) DS will just miss you completely lol. So if you time your dash right and get close enough to start pushing him either stop or walk and you won't get hit. If you keep dashing you'll get hit though. Don't think it's gonna happen much in a match but it's just something interesting haha.

EDIT: For the lulz I wanted to see what would happen if you held down 22B while Jin was shooting his ice swords at you. If you time it right, it won't hurt you at all you automatically block it lol. Even his 236D version won't hurt you if timed correctly.

One thing that has always confused me about 22B is that in the frame data, it says both "9-27F invincible to projectile attribute" AND, more generically "absorbs projectiles". Similarly, 22B (Max Charge) says "Invincible to projectile attribute from 9F to 2F into recovery step" and again "absorbs projectiles"

Is this double reporting? Does one of these make the other superfluous? What's the difference between being "invulnerable" and "absorbing"? Does it only absorb while it's invulnerable? @_@

Posted (edited)

I'm most likely wrong so anyone who knows feel free to verbally berate me for being retarded then correct me but if I had to guess from observations last night...

"Absorbing" means that the projectile is automatically blocked so you can't get hit by it even if you're not actually blocking. If you're "invulnerable" that means that the projectile "misses" you but it can still hit you when your invul frames are done or you timed the move wrong.

What the heck was with the 'flipping' thing that happened after she hit Hakumen with 3CC? That looks new to me. o.o

It's just the new animation when hit by some moves in CS2.

I think that guy was Spinoza judging from the PSR ID. His execution seemed very inconsistent though which was a shame. Gotta say I loved the Haku's use of mugen though.

Whoops that is spinoza. I just looked at the video details and assumed that was the Tsubaki they mentioned :vbang:

Thank you! He does seem kinda off but well everyone has their days.

EDIT: I think the name they put is what he goes by as well or something because I double-checked and odanobunaga was what was in the video detail. I'm not too surprised though considering a lot of players switch up their names (makes it confusing at times :v:)

Wow, looks like you can get the 623c>whiff j.214a>2cc>etc off any normal starter since he got it off 2aa. A bunch of interesting gimmicks also. The 100% tension combo was cool too, since he RCed j.214c and was able to land and follow up.
