glod Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Good poster. Unfortunately I am gonna be unable to go to CO tonight or the meetup this week because my car broke, unless someone is nice enough to offer a ride. Sorry.
Wild Wallice Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Glod, PM me your address and I'll come get you at around 6:30. It usually starts at around 7. However, I've heard from another guy who usually goes to CO that there isn't gonna be any tonight. Plus, people on the SD facebook group said there was no CO. But I am not sure if this means there is no STREET FIGHTER at CO, or just no CO period. Jinx, please confirm.
shtkn Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 after looking at that poster, i think i've grown a goatee
Wild Wallice Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 So I haven't heard anything else about CO. So I'm gonna assume its not happening. I'll stay home playing Armored Core 5 instead.
glod Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 No problem Wallice, I'm sort of not in the mood for Fighters today anyways. Ugh. Also welcome back shtkn!
jinxhand Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) I just got this msg just now. I got out of 290 class. Anyway, I walked in and they said casuals only so no real tourneys or such. My bad. Just got the word. Yeah, what a buzzkill. Edited April 3, 2012 by jinxhand
shtkn Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 just small stuff; some clothes and that's about it
glod Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 If we are, I can't come unless someone gives me a ride. I'd be willing to compensate by either buying food/drink at frubble or giving some money for gas. Otherwise I am gonna stay at home and play Xenoblade which is also okay.
hakimiru Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Business as usual then? I don't even remember how to play anymore orz We should probably check with Frubble just to make sure that they kept the venue for us. If we are, I can't come unless someone gives me a ride. I'd be willing to compensate by either buying food/drink at frubble or giving some money for gas. Otherwise I am gonna stay at home and play Xenoblade which is also okay. If no one else will, I'll go grab you or something.
Wild Wallice Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I'll email the guy tonight to make sure we're set up for tomorrow and I'll let you guys know. I'm sure we're good though. Watermelonz/Buddy, I need to know NOW whether or not you plan on coming. Glod, I'll come get you. PM me your address or wherever it is you want me to pick you up. Tell me what time you'd prefer me to get you as well.
glod Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Alright, thanks. I'll PM you in a bit with the details.
Jigoku_Roa Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I'll be there on time hopefully, we can try to finalize the group facebook page, and I'll bring in some printed flyers (letter size) of the poster also.
Wild Wallice Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 So the owner emailed me back. Says were good for tonight. But he also said he double booked and will continue to do so till our crowd gets bigger. I don't know what else he double booked, but I am surprised he made that decision after us being there only twice. I thought the FB group was a good idea to try and grow our numbers to prevent being kicked out but it seems its a moot point now since we've already lost the primacy of our spot. I still think we should do the poster though. Watermelonz and Buddy, I ask that you get to my place at 6, cause I am leaving myself half an hour to go pick up Glod then a half hour to get to Frubble. This is assuming you still need me as a ride though. I am displeased.
glod Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Jeez, well, hopefully it won't be too bad. Not like we need a whole lot of space. Also yeah I still need a ride, thanks!

EDIT: Still keeping the poster design but the facebook group page needs to be under facebook.com/groups/dustloopsd Edited April 6, 2012 by Jigoku_Roa
Jyosua Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 How big of a group do you guys usually have, anyhow?
Jigoku_Roa Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 As of now, less than 10 people (?), this is why were doing the facebook page and poster to bring in more people to our group.
Wild Wallice Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Under optimal conditions we have: Me, Haki, Glod, Shtkn, Ichi, Roa, Watermelonz, and Buddy. So thats eight core people. We also have three people who were with Watermelonz at Winter Game Fest at UCSD that will hopefully come eventually, two people who posted in this tread a few times but never showed up, at least two people who asked about Guilty Gear and never posted again, and we have you and another person who have posted because they may be moving here. So we could potentially have seventeen people based on this thread alone if people move here/decide to show up. Additionally, I am sure there are random people scattered about in SD who play but don't know or don't show up to our events, and of course there is DS, if he ever gets a car. We've had people come down from LA a few times in the past and are trying to do so again in the future as well. But as far as the owner sees, its just 8 people. Makes me wonder how many people the Box Arena gets.
Jigoku_Roa Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Box gets around or more than 50 people, because they only show Capcom games, yet they had some considerations of putting KOF in but hasn't happen yet for a long time since they said about it.
hakimiru Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I'm actually somewhat glad that he double booked us. We don't take up that much space to begin with anyways, and there's less pressure this way. With our current numbers, I always feel sort of bad because I'm not sure we bring them enough business to make it worth it, and I'd much rather let the scene grow at its own pace rather than try to force it. We're more likely to get keepers that way, rather than passing interests I think.

I might be able to give some people some rides as well if there are others on the way that just dont want to drive/can't. I'll be out in Cali around early July, so we'll have to see then. Kinda sounds like the Florida scene right now... we got a good 8-12 people who show up to tournaments and maybe 6-8 who go to casuals. That's about it.
