hakimiru Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Is anyone going today and if yes, when? Need to decide if I should go or stay at home and try to catch up on this translation backlog =3=
Ichipoo Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 It's official, me, Watermelonz and a friend of his are going courtesy of me, so feel free to come haki.
hakimiru Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Alright, thanks! >w</ Guess I'll make my way over once I finish this Tager section.
Wild Wallice Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Looks like I made the right decision after all. My mom mentioned that tonight some guy got in a car chase and flipped his car over on the freeway, and that the whole thing was shut down from San Clemente onwards.
Jigoku_Roa Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Sorry to here that Wallice. Great night last night; okay next week, were going to ruin our friendship with Mario Party (all we need is 2 more Wii motes)
glod Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Dammit I want a repeat of Mario Party night once I'm back. Or more random stupid games at all. Maybe a jackie chan revival...?
Ichipoo Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Oh crap, got too caught up with school and CP hype that I forgot to post here. Yeah, last Friday night was hype. Can't believe I had to fit up to 6 people in my tiny Civic which was funny and eating at Tajimas right afterward was chill too. Oh and shoutouts to me sitting in my little P4A corner while everybody was playing/watching CSEX matches and also streaming CP at the same time.
Jigoku_Roa Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 I can't host tonight (for some reason my last post was deleted) I have too much school work I need to finish. Probably next week we should play Mario Party.
Watermelonz Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I'm gonna be extremely busy this Friday and the weekend as well, so I won't be able to make it to any meetups if there is one.
Jigoku_Roa Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I'm also will be busy till next week Friday, so I can't host or go the meetings also (I think shtkn said that he'll at the east coast for another week during the NEC stream).
Ichipoo Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I won't be free til next Thursday since that's when my last final is, so any plans for next Friday or the weekend afterwards?
B-RAi Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 next oceanside fight club event is this saturday if you guys are interested. the event was held off in the month of novemeber but they are back again. its held every 2 weeks. from wat i know, there are about 8-12ish P4A players in that area. Seems that there are people that play blaz aswell. ppl will play it as long as u bring a setup for it (i did see it once in person but im not 100% sure as to if they still go/ if they are dedicated players/ etc etc etc etc etc.). there are couple of guilty gear players as well if u play that. adress and everything is here at this link: http://ofcsd.com/faq tournies start at around 7 and end around 12 or even up to 2-3am.
Ichipoo Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Can't go this weekend, got an essay and two finals to study for, but I'll definitely try to go to the next one. I'll even bring my PS3 if TsukiBaka can go as well to bring his monitor.
shtkn Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 Just popping in to say my travels are still not over. Flight was delayed a day so I might be too exhausted to go to the SDFGC Monday night event. Sent from my phone using Tapatalk
Jigoku_Roa Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Okay, what's happening this Friday, I'm finally done with school for now.
shtkn Posted December 13, 2012 Author Posted December 13, 2012 I can host. I plan to go to that thing at FFA this weekend so I might end it early. Sent from my phone using Tapatalk
Ichipoo Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Finals are over, though I don't think I can come over tonight, but do any of you guys plan to go to Saltmines next Monday? And rjt posted this interesting piece of news in one of the SD threads in SRK's Pacific West subforum. Please read the entire post! We are proud to announce that our new location has been secured! Next monday will be our LAST event at Pangea Bakery Cafe! We have secured an office RIGHT behind Pangea Bakery (the address is 7969 Engineer rd., San Diego, CA 92111), and it will be OURS. Meaning we can stay later, run as many events as we like, and basically host a place to play whenever there isn't a TTF or an OFC going on. We will be hosting events on and off through this holiday season as we prepare for the grand re-opening in 2013. Starting 2013, we will have Marvel Mondays and Street Fighter Thursdays, and perhaps a larger monthly Saturday tournament. The starting time will be around the same time, so stay posted. Of course casual stations will be available for AE on Marvel nights, and vice versa. Casuals will remain free, so come out and play! But we DO need your help for a few items. If you know of a way to get these items cheap, or would be willing to donate the items or some $ to help us out, it would really help us out! Right now we are in need of -Tables -Chairs -Perhaps a bookshelf or a display case -A refrigerator for drinks? -Speakers -A big TV or projector -A router -Posters and what not to decorate the walls with -People who are willing to come in and open up, play and just watch the equipment in case one of us isn't able to make it out to the office to host a casual session. We are going to try to get a wholesale or retail license so we can buy retail games, and if you guys want to help support the venue, you can just buy your games through us. If you guys can contribute your time, $, or items in any way, don't hesitate to offer. Any ideas on how we can make ends meet are also welcome. We hope to hear from you soon, and see you next Monday!!! That's great news, but does this mean that we can just walk in whenever we feel like playing some games or is there a set time that we can only come in, because if this is true, then this means that the anime players of San Diego have one more place in "reserve" in case any both of our regular hosts can't host for whatever reason on Fridays. And I wouldn't mind donating some money. donations are always welcome! Also, you cannot walk in whenever, because we don't have enough volunteers yet (we're gathering them and setting the schedule) to keep it open during regular business hours. but for now, just message me for my number or hit me up on facebook/twitter when you need a spot, and im more than happy to come by and open it up for you, as long as one of you can be responsible for locking up when you leave! i wont charge you to host there, but if you guys do have a bunch of people, ill leave a donation jar or something out in case they want to pitch in :]What do you think guys? It could be another place we could host casuals if necessary.
hakimiru Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Sounds nice? Interested in seeing how this pans out. And a little late, but I'll be there tonight~
glod Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) That Fighting Game Den sounds like it could be a really good opportunity. I obviously haven't been to the pangaea stuff yet but it's nice to have a fallback as far as hosting goes. I'll be back in SD in early January myself, so I'm looking forward to it... Edit: Awww shit, that's right by Tajima. This is ideal. Edited December 15, 2012 by glod
shtkn Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 Sounds good to me. I hope we can reserve a spot Friday nights and basically treat it as the "new Frubble". Has anyone contacted them? I think this should be set up starting in January or so since that's when people come back from Xmas break. A non-house location is better in general since I think a lot of people are wary about going to people's houses IMO Sent from my phone using Tapatalk
B-RAi Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Ive already been there once for AE. Its a nice spot. They have a big room which is basically an area that can realistically fit maybe 15-20 setups and theres a seperate room for stream equipment. So far its open on mondays with marvel tourney and thursday for AE tourney and sometimes fridays or any other day when ryan says he can open it up for us to play on the sdfightscene group on fb (if u want me to add u tothe group jus ask) . The goal is that itll be open everyday to act as a console arcade of the sorts. All games are welcome provided the setups are brought. Persona side tourney might resume on thursdays if there is interest and so forth. This is a huge step forward for our scene. Come out and support! New location is at 7969 engineer rd. Its basically an office like buiilding thingy behind pangea and lil further down the road right behind the korean bbq and sushi place. Hope to c u guys ut there sometime.

However, I'm assuming the catch is that in the case that most of us are busy on any week and can't play games, then we'll have to remind the guys who own the place in advance that we won't show up, because it would kind of suck for the guy who's scheduled to watch over us on Fridays just show up for nothing if we decide to cancel last minute due to some unexpected event, but I'm pretty sure it won't come to that. Anyway are any of you guys picking up/relearning GG? Been grinding this game for the past two days and I forgot how much I loved this game so much when I first started playing back in 06-07 with friends. Playing A.B.A at the moment btw.
shtkn Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 Sure invite me to the Facebook group. Might be useful later. Sent from my phone using Tapatalk
