Also, I don't OS throw. It's for wusses. :P What's the point, anyway? If they bait it, well, yeah. Tech the throw or block properly!

When Jin or Litchi or whoever makes you eat 5K+ simply because you thought they were going to throw but didn't, I think you'll change your mind about that. :P

oh. btw if anybody wants unreactable mixup. play CS2 rachel

5B into jA or 2B (not even a gap to mash dp inbetween)

wtf arc sys...

Then play Litchi. Her crouching hitbox is too short to properly use j.A overhead.

lol, thats pretty stupid.

i shouldn't have to play 1 character to avoid unreactable free mixup everytime i'm put in blockstun.

maybe thats why that rachel had 304 psr lol

But that's the thing. You have enough time to tech throws in BB so that OS isn't really needed.

Don't be lazy, tech properly! :]

You sure it's safe even on I.B.?

5b: lv3 atk (16f blockstun).

j.a: 8f startup.

2b: 10f startup.

Method:

[string] = jump startup + startup frames = frames required. | Rq f + IB adv. = total frames on IB.

1) 5b -> j.a = 4 + 8 = 12f. | 12 + 3 = 15f.

2) 5b -> 2b = 0 + 10 = 10f. | 10 + 3 = 13f.

Rachel's advantage on IB'd 5b:

Lv3 blockstun - T rq f on IB.

1) 16 - 15 = +1

2) 16 - 13 = +3

If IB were not nerfed, j.a would be unsafe. But since it was, there is no gap.

See, that would be accurate if we knew for sure that 5b retained it's properties as a level 3 attack. Or even that the systeming for attack levels hasn't been minutely adjusted.

Posted

Even if 5b were downgraded to lv2, j.a is safe on block, and 2b on IB. It's still useful.

I doubt it was "minutely adjusted". A change in attack level is a big change.

Time to look into barrier guarding to reduce strong pressure, scrubs. This isn't the era of "mash out of everything" anymore.

OH, AND IF YOU'RE REALLY A SCRUB, SAVE YOUR METER FOR CA OR GOLD BURST, HINT HINT

Save your meter for CA

or gold burst

(you probably already know that, but I guarantee someone looking at it doesn't)

Even then.

>Gold Burst

>Get out of pressure

that's a pretty pre-emptive/ridiculously situational/good-luck-wth-that pressure escape

Posted

Gold burst is +4...so even if its blocked the defender can apply pressure assuming your opponent does not mash reversal.

Note: Gold burst when being pressured won't work unless that pressure has huge holes in it.

I always forget about CA. The only times I remember about it, is when Ara curses me, shit, I use every "get me out of here" tool I can think of, lol.

What, you don't like getting out of pressure for free? Free + on block DP is pretty cool in my book. Look at it this way, you can reaction Gold burst to mix up you don't feel confident about, get a free hit, and get your OWN combo instead of "Oh shit I didn't guess right, time to burst" and just get them off of you (Maybe lol, don't get baited)

Posted

Yeah, gold burst into 5k is pretty gdlk. The only weird thing is when a gold burst transforms into a green burst. You literally see the colour go from GOLD to GREEN. It's like you're hit in the startup frames or something. That annoys me a lot.

Posted

That means you missed the timing by a frame or two. The biggest problem with GB reversal is you can't use the input buffer system while in blockstun, as if you hit the burst early, it's green out of blockstun; for that reason, there's a lot of places it's really, really hard to use it, where a DP would be no problem (Any place you only get 1 or 2 frames to mash)

Hmm, so GBing out of pressure is not good and it's better used to avoid mix-up like high/low/throw?

Thanks, will keep that in mind
